Glad you're 'getting there' muse. What a nuisance though, for you. Yes, comfrey is a good fertiliser. I make comfrey tea with it, in large plastic bottles (not to drink, I should add!). The solution really pongs after the leaves have been soaking for a while, which means it must be good!!!

Wishing Mr&MrsSusan a very Happy Anniversary ?

Grey still in mid Cornwall.
Lunch us being prepared by MrM so I’m doing catch up on news after my early slot

grandmabatty I’ve just anointed myself in various places with voltarol gel. My hand is coming out in a bruise now from the fall.

Enjoy the train journey Ashcombe. I have a yearly MRI to track a ‘mass’ I have in my lower back. Any growth would mean a biopsy which the consultant says is risky. All’s positive so far so I do hope your result is too. Back of my leg is still painful but more like the muscle pain after walking up a few dozen hillsides. Thank you for asking. I suppose I should really have gone for an X-ray but I’m stubborn.

Ali. Doesn’t comfrey grow at an amazing rate. I planted some last year to make fertiliser. Monty Don seems to do well by it so I thought I’d give it a try.

I’m getting there GG13 thank you. I’m up to a 2mph hobble on one crutch now.

Happy anniversary to susan and DH.

Sat outside but still no sun yet. Hope St Ives is better. DD and DGD are there for the day. Sad not to be with them. Had brilliant evening with DD. we were in unison shouting for Andy. ?

????? ?

Today my grandson is getting married (Registry office) and tomorrow the big reception, all postponed from last year. Really looking forward to seeing nearly all family together first time in nearly a year. First grandchild to tie the knot (another next year!). Unfortunately both of us having a few health problems so we’ll make the most of this happy occasion and the chance to wish the lovely couple every happiness. Sunny day so a good omen.????

Very late good morning all from grey and dull Anglesey, looks like rain any minute. Expecting a friend to join us for lunch today, will have to be in the dining room with windows wide open.
Looking forward to a good chatter and catching up with all her news.
Very happy anniversary Susan, enjoy your little break, romance and relaxation make good bedfellows.
Have a good day all of you ?

aggie Thu 01-Jul-21 10:33:21

Good morning all, bit dull out this morning but warm , I’m still in pjs,
I was up early , my hearing aid on the right has stopped working so was trying to find out where to get it fixed . The Audiologist is on several sites but a helpful receptionist put me right
However it is a different man from the one I got it from and he seems to think I’m an idiot , first question … have you checked the battery ! I’ve had the blessed things for over 18 months , I don’t think they go that long without changing the footery wee batteries ! However I have an appointment next Monday

EkwaNimitee Thu 01-Jul-21 10:23:55

Thank you, Grandmafrench. No worries now, as soon as I'd posted, the phone rang, the dentist had a cancellation and could I come in now. I did and the cleaning was quite painless as was the fixing of the broken tooth with no injection needed. I chickened out of one thing though, I had another broken tooth that would need extraction and would I have it done now? A step too far for me, another time I said. I regretted this somewhat when making the appointment, it won't be till September so I hope it will remain trouble-free meanwhile. The only painful moment was paying the bill....only private treatment is available at the moment.
I can now think of a bit of gardening or a walk this afternoon.

Grandmabatty Thu 01-Jul-21 10:16:42

Happy anniversary Susan

Morning all from a bright West Yorks.
Rather quiet lazy start to the day.Usual childcare day/evening yest. The weather was great so had tea in garden. Kids decided wanted to do litter collection, so all wearing gloves/picking up cane set off, in honesty very little litter around.Schools doing a great job in getting environmental issues across going by the constant chatter and exchange of views.
They have started treasure searching in a small strip garden side of garage, lovely to watch them unearthing bits of pottery/screws etc with excitement.Great shouts of excitement "Gma Gdad look we've found a 90s poster or something".
Indeed they had, the frontage of an old compost bag and defo not from the 10 yrs we have lived here. They say they will let me have any rubies they find?

Greyduster Thu 01-Jul-21 10:10:36

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. I’m late this morning as I was up early drinking tea with DiL and chatting. We had a really lovely day at Chatsworth yesterday. The sun came out and the gardens were a fabulous riot of colour. I took 168 photos - couldn’t stop. Today we are going somewhere local for a walk before they head off home. Have a good day folks.

Happy anniversarySusan

Grandmabatty Thu 01-Jul-21 10:08:27

Grandmafrench you are a sweetheart! I have voltarol gel on, a wrist splint on and permission to take paracetamol when required. The lovely pharmacist also made me promise to call the surgery if this doesn't do the trick. Oh, and a handy bag of frozen peas for cold treatment.

Grandmafrench Thu 01-Jul-21 10:02:59

Oh dear, read it back......what a nag, you must all be thinking!
Please remember it's only because I care about you all. ?

Grandmafrench Thu 01-Jul-21 10:02:11

Good Morning everyone! Frantically busy, so just a brief word this morning. It's so very hot and I am trying to wash all the floors before I am completely floored by the prospect!!

Good luck for later, Ash. Remember, for the future, that ALL anti-inflammatories push up blood pressure. So, even if you are on BP medication to lower it, it can cause a spike if you regularly take painkillers like Ibuprofen. Your Pharmacist should be able to reassure you about anything you buy/take. I had the Doctor's warning many moons ago. Hope you're feeling lots better now - that must have been a very scary situation for you.

Ekwa. all luck to you at the Dentist. Just put on your big girl pants and, however scared, just go for it!! Let your 'sensible head' lead you the right way!

dwmx you do sound as if you're doing far too much - promise to relax on your trip away.

Happy Anniversary to you both, susan. Maybe plan an extra treat when life calms down a bit?

Hope you're doing well, georgesgran - in between being a trouper for your DD.

GrandmaB Do we need to SGI - Send the Grans In? Someone needs to prioritise stuff at your surgery. Maybe another call and a demand for a call back from a GP - that's if anyone there is still working at all things medical?

Better day to you Auntiflo, Harri GrannySomerset and anyone I've obviously overlooked in my haste. Good wishes, hugs and a bon courage from French France and me. x

A GREY northwest Lancashire coast.

hollysteers Thu 01-Jul-21 09:55:31

Good morning Mick and all from a great northwest Lancashire coast. Must read the meters for my utility bill, a blinking nuisance. Just eating two poached eggs and wondering why my cat seems to have developed a big appetite, food disappears in a flash whereas a few weeks ago she was walking scornfully by whatever it was I offered. Maybe because I was away for a few days and life wasn’t the same.
The optician’s receptionist had wrongly informed me all my contacts had arrived. A wasted journey , the order was incomplete. Seems there is trouble at mill regarding orders. I made my displeasure felt?
Thoughts to Panache happy anniversary Susan56 and best wishes for a good day to all.

Blossoming Thu 01-Jul-21 09:24:24

That should have said good morning, though I wish you all luck as well.

Blossoming Thu 01-Jul-21 09:23:28

Good luck all from a warm, dry Lancashire. Just a flying visit as Mr. B and I are off out and will be taking a picnic, which I must go and help prepare! Ashcombe I am shocked you weren’t warned about ibuprofen and BP meds, it isn’t only ramipril it interacts with. I currently take 5 different meds for my hypertension, none of them at maximum dose. It’s the combination that works for me. It was very difficult to control, what works for one person may not work for another. Sounds as though your new GP is more clued up, so hopefully you will be sorted. I’m rather evangelical about BP control as mine very nearly succeeded in killing me.
