Tested negative!
Very reassuring! What do you do if it's positive; that is after you've picked yourself up from the floor!?
There seem to be quite a few false positives or negatives even with the fair-dinkum testers. Don't think I'll bother just yet; it's filed in the same red box as DIY blood pressure kits!
I've got a sand-box in the back garden which I visit at times of stress! grin
Have a good break! (It's Friesday again!)
Cheers

Hi Rufus glad Ian is doing well. Yes the football is wonderful. Looking forward to the match on Saturday, I am not going out. Fed up with all the moaning about it to be honest from people.

Watched Andy at Wimbledon, it was a very good match. Anyway sleep well, and take care.

Hi Rufus, it was a slow build up to the first goal, we watched it in our local, brilliant atmosphere, all seated and spaced, no jumping about maskless. Unfortunately I didn’t record it, bet it’s available, can you get BBC iplayer?
Poised for Ukraine on Saturday, many memories of face painting the children and going to the local social club, now long gone, nearly always disappointed faces afterwards, including mine.
Cases are rising here but, thankfully, deaths are low, vaccine doing its job. I think drinking and driving may well apply to your transport and you might hit a bump and spill some, a definite no no.
Take care ?

Hi Rufus2. I'm another Bob Newhart fan. His deadpan humour was so funny. Do you get 'The Big Bang Theory' in Oz? He was in that as Professor Proton and his usual straight faced hilarious self. Actually that whole programme is good.
I ordered some covid test kits after reading how to do it on GN. They arrived today and I tested myself. Bit of a palaver but OK once I got the hang of it. Tested negative. Phew. I can go on holiday tomorrow. Just a long weekend with the family but it should be lovely.
Stay safe. Get your vaccination!

Good Evening Thursday!
Now where was I ? The soccer was a good diversion, although the thread had to attract the usual “I don’t like sport,” naysayers!
For goodness sake; it’s been 55 years since the last time, but obviously no historians around!.
I hope your heart rates have settled down and ready for Ukraine! One thing missing from the Gransnet commentary; apart from the result, was it a good match?
We don’t seem to have a full video, only extended (5 min) highlights.
Now here’s a thought! Someone must have recorded it, so can one of our tech. whizz-kids secretly email a copy?

NSW still in strife with over 20 new cases every day; the morning TV News always covers news conferences of each State and Territory: the NSW and Queensland Premiers along with their Chief Medical Officers are regularly put under the hammer; they must dread waking up each morning!
VIC State Premier, Dan, is now in the chair again after his long lay-off with his back accident and he must be happy to find that the shoe’s on the other foot, so to speak, after all that VIC has gone through! We are pretty clear at the moment.

Talking with Neil earlier this evening to learn that Brisbane is cold 20C and wet.
School holidays up there too, No room left at caravan parks forthe Grey Nomads and those that are there are staying put.
An Insurance Co. adv. on Telly this evening depicting an agent trying to interest an elderly couple to spend the “kid’s inheritance” on a caravan and “go!” pointing out that you never see a tow-bar on a hearse! I thought it amusing, anyway!

Megs Don’t tell me the police have paid a visit! I always thought this thread, being friendly and all that, was inviolate. Hope you receive an explanation!
Finally the Wedding! Tomorrow!? Where’s the reception and how many guests!?
Best Wishes to Everyone and hope the Best Man behaves himself.
Are we allowed to ask what the mother of the ‘groom will be wearing, including your hat, of course? smile

Aveline You’ll be relieved to hear that Ian’s hip-hop is progressing well. On crutches, gets two home visits by physio and weekly nurse visit for dressing renewal!
Only 5 weeks to go, according to the bone man, then he can resume my shopping!
I’m OK for essentials, although I’m down to my last drop of (cream) sherry, but seeing as how I'm booked in for a badly needed haircut tomorrow, next door to the off-licence. I should survive.
Provided I don’t open one on the way home! They say don’t drink and drive.
Not sure if that applies to electric mobility scooters? hmm

rafichagran With all that screeching mobody would hav heard Ernie’s gold “a’rattling in their crate” Thankfully it’s still up there on YouTube along with most of the Classics such as the 2 Ronnies “Fork Handles”; “The Plank” “’Ancock’s “Alf “Our”!
Marvellous! grin
Why do I keep thinking you’re a Scouse! instead of a Londoner, only Baldrick’s latest on Cathedrals (6 part) took us to Liverpool which brought back memories of a different kind. Showed clips of all the bomb damage, I lost count of how many continuous nights of visits by the Luftwaffe it suffered all because of its vital role in receiving Atlantic convoys from America, at least those that survived U-Boat packs.

On a more cheerful note; came across Bob Newhart; another clever comedian!
They don’t make them like that anymore, unfortunately! sad
