I’m wishing you a very Happy Birthday Ann with everyone else ???. Little things add up sometimes and make a big dark thing, I’m sure your day will improve. I hope you’ll have a wonderful break with your friend, returning to a house with a ‘facelift’. xx

soop Mon 12-Jul-21 13:23:38

Dearest Ann Having read Grandmafrench's wise and thoughtful message, all that I can add is...you are a special lady. Pick yourself up, brush yourself down and remember the good times fondly. There will be others ahead. In fact, today is just that. You are in our thoughts. Happy birthday from us lot.

grannysyb Mon 12-Jul-21 13:29:49

Wishing you a very happy birthday Ann, have a good break.

GrannySomerset Mon 12-Jul-21 13:40:51

Happy birthday, Ann, I really sympathise with how you are feeling. The young don’t understand and there are fewer and fewer contemporaries to remember. Your trip away will help, I am sure, and I hope you have a happy time.

My eldest son is 60 today. One of the gentlest and kindest people that I know.

Our lovely next door neighbour is 61 today. We have an invite to an open air celebration at 4 o'clock.

Tomorrow, Mr Soop has one of his regular appointments with the haematologist in Oban hospital. An early start to the day. A long and winding road. He may also get an appointment for a further scan to measure his abdominal aortic aneurysm. He is one of the most upbeat and cheerful of patients.

The sun continues to shine. We have enjoyed such a long spell of perfect summer weather. If anything, today is a wee bit muggy.

I'm wishing our Ann an uplifting time spent together with her good friend.

annsixty Mon 12-Jul-21 15:14:39

You are all as kind as I knew you would be.
Thank you all.
Who wouldn’t be lifted in spirit with all your kind messages..... and I am.?

Blossoming Mon 12-Jul-21 15:20:59

Happy Birthday annsixty, if you need a little weep you won’t be judged here. Sometimes it helps x I hope you have a lovely time on your trip and it gives you something to smile about.

Blossoming Mon 12-Jul-21 15:27:58

I am not having the best Monday! It is raining, muggy and too warm. I had a fainting fit on my way into the bathroom this morning then missed the last step going downstairs. I didn’t fall, luckily, because I was holding on to the bannister, but my arm felt like it was being dragged out of its socket. Mr. B has forbidden me to move from this chair. He has taken the final charity shop donations so now I can start putting everything away neatly. Not today, though, I think I really will have to rest!

Grannmarie Mon 12-Jul-21 15:49:53

Many happy returns of the day, Ann!flowers

Have a lovely time with your friend, I hope you return home rested and refreshed, to enjoy your new look home!

I hope you are feeling a wee bit better, Soop, and Blossoming, stay in your chair! smile

Happy Birthday Ann and I hope there has been some joy in your day in spite of sad memories. We almost share birthdays, mine is tomorrow .
Blossoming, your clearing out leaves me feeling guilty. It's one of those jobs I'm always meaning to do but never get round to.
Yiayia, two replacements---if will take some time to get your head round that, but if it means less pain and better mobility in the end then it's probably a good thing to bite the bullet.
soop, I hope the trip has gone well for you both.
I've been baking chocolate biscuits today from an easy Mary Berry recipe and I decorate them with a clover leaf of chocolate buttons, plain, milk and white when straight out of yhe oven so they melt on.I've put some in the kitchen for you to try out.Stir fry of home-grown veg tonight.
TOYA

annodomini Mon 12-Jul-21 16:01:04

Blossoming, you must have overdone things yesterday, so do have a lazy quiet Monday and please, no more fainting. Your advice about culling your wardrobe is sound. I have got some of the way, but still have trouble closing the door. I am surrounded by bags of 'stuff' and have to decide which charity shops to donate it to. In this small town there are six, all very deserving. I'm thinking of starting with the one closest to easy parking.
After two weeks of Wimbledom, I am lost without tennis. I don't think it will be much fun watching the Olympics this year, and probably at the wrong time of day.

mrshat Mon 12-Jul-21 17:21:37

Happy Birthday Ann - a bit late in the day but heartfelt good wishes just the same. Enjoy Nottingham (where my DH comes from!) - the break will do you good. flowers
Good health to others who are suffering and positive vibes to all to help us keep our spirits up! smile

Happy birthday Ann. I hope you have a lovely trip to see your friend ?

Fennel Mon 12-Jul-21 19:06:10

I've also yet got to add to all the the lovely wishes for your birthday, Ann.
Sounds as if you made it a very special day, as it should be.

soop Mon 12-Jul-21 19:14:43

Blossoming PLEASE do take good care of yourself.

The afternoon tea was a treat. I'm afraid that I have broken my vow not to eat cake until my birthday. hmm It was there. I was offered it. My plate moved in the direction of the selection. I succumbed. Will I do penance? Nah!

I've spoken with my sixty year old son. He is such a dear man. Had England won the championship, he would have been over the moon with unbridled joy. Hey ho! We cannot always have what we want.

I may have time to pop into the kitchen when we return from the Oban hospital appointment tomorrow. If not, I shall be with you on Wednesday.

Virtual hugs for every one of you. smile moon
