Sorry to be so late getting back to answer your question soop.
Maw and Hellogirl have the diagnosis spot on.Like Lynne,FIL had limited mobility when he went into hospital and now can’t walk or even stand unaided. As with the wards Paw was on, there are not enough staff to spare to take him for a walk, also with the Covid restrictions he can’t move far from his little corner. We saw him two days before he was admitted when he requested fish and chips and an apple turnover which we bought and he ate the lot.Now he has lost the ability to eat and is on a liquid diet.DH has been given an appointment to visit on Monday. Its all so sad.

We have had a lovely day with DD2 and family.B was so happy to see us and it was a joy to spend time with them all.

Tomorrow we have a day at home so I will finally have time to read all your news/antics.

TOYA

So sad to read about your FIL Susan.
Muse, it`s too late now for me to take advice about boob squishing, they don`t send me invitations anymore, I`m too old.
Is Baggs driving to you Soop, or coming on the not very frequent bus? I bet sum fun will be had when you get together!
Maw, lovely to see Rosie again, we`ve missed her.

Doodle Wed 11-Aug-21 21:27:33

Good evening all.
Maw so pleased the lovely Rosie is bringing you such pleasure. Nothing like the unconditional love of a pet to bring joy to your life.
blade many congratulations on the new arrival. A new baby is always cause for joy,
muse sorry to hear your DHs leg is still playing up. Hope it heals well soon.
Sorry I can’t reply to everyone tonight. I am a slightly tipsy doodle as DH has treated me to a lovely meal at our local restaurant and they surprised us with some Prosecco we weren’t expecting.
Take care all. TOYA ?

I am so sorry to hear this - what on earth are the physiotherapists thinking to let this situation develop?(Rhetorical question) But it is a massive waste of resources as well as the waste of a life to reduce a man to what you describe ??

brook2704 Wed 11-Aug-21 22:19:06

So sorry to hear about the situation that your FiL is facing Susan it’s so sad and wrong that his stay in hospital is making things worse, my heart goes out to you ❤️

Exciting weekend ahead soop with baggs visit, I bet you’ll have some fun and lots of laughter!

I feel your pain nannytopsy! It’s hard work looking after two little ones especially when they’re strong willed. One of my DGS used to have some right tantrums that I couldn’t manage very well but thankfully he seems to have outgrown them now - aged 7

Gorgeous Rosie photo Maw she looks so comfortable

Happy memories of your mum muse

Charleygirl5 Thu 12-Aug-21 07:46:05

Blade Duncan looks very peaceful- he is a handsome fellow.

MawBe when exactly did Rosie worm her way into your bed because the last photo I saw was Rosie fast asleep and comfortable on the floor. She is a gorgeous girl and loves her sleep.

A plumber is arriving this am to do 3 jobs and tomorrow the fencing and shed will be another colour so slowly the boxes are being ticked. I am getting ready for a harsh winter which has been forecast.

Thank you for your kind and supportive messages.

I forgot to add that the hospital had asked the family not to ring as they couldn’t cope with phone calls and that they would text updates. When we hadn’t heard for the second day my SIL called only to be told oh he isn’t here any longer, he has been transferred to another hospital?‍♀️You couldn’t make it up.

Have a lovely weekend with Baggs soop.

dustyangel Thu 12-Aug-21 10:02:16

Oh Susan that is appalling. You must all be feeling so frustrated and angry.

Grandmabatty Thu 12-Aug-21 12:20:41

Susan I'm furious on your behalf! What a dreadful way to behave.

soop Thu 12-Aug-21 14:05:26

Maw Your Rosie is a treasure. As is BladeAnnie's handsome Duncan

brook I won't say no to wine (just a double, mind) and an entire bar of chocolate. Wouldn't want to appear stand-offish. wink

Nannytopsy You are a wonderful nanny. Diplomacy is a gift that we all need to have by the bucket load.

TillyT I'm pleased that I haven't overlooked your come back. So many new kitcheners helped to make my birthday super special. Thank you all for being such good sports.

Having printed the happenings on the night of the party, I confess to having laughed aloud over and over again. Believe me, you lot have made my 80th a birthday burst at the seams with fun. You are special peoples. flowers

soop Thu 12-Aug-21 14:10:27

Susan I am truly sorry, shocked and extremely angry to learn of the deterioration in your father-in-law's mental and physical condition. To move him without notifying you is beyond belief.
Our Maw has had a very similar experience with Paw.

soop Thu 12-Aug-21 14:13:43

Doodle Surely that isn't you...stranded high up that pole? Next time we party, I urge you to stick to dancing on the table top, us lot can muscle-in and lift you off it after your performance. grin

soop Thu 12-Aug-21 14:14:55

Susan For you...last night's beautiful sunset.

Yiayia4 Thu 12-Aug-21 15:08:06

Thank you everyone who sent me kind thoughts it means a lot.
Feeling very sorry for myself at the moment I have a bad sinus infection, have the antibiotics and they are helping but not without side effects.☹️Not a good week.
Will chat when I’m feeling better.
Take care Kitcheners.

Grandmabatty Thu 12-Aug-21 15:10:30

Yiayia ? bed and virtual hugs

Susan56 Thu 12-Aug-21 15:12:04

Thank you for the wonderful sunset soop.x

Yiayia?

Jaxjacky Thu 12-Aug-21 15:42:41

Oh Yia not good, take care of yourself, soon better ?
Susan that is truly disgraceful, I’m lost for words. I really don’t know what to suggest, my thoughts are with you all x x
Cricket was wonderful last night, just going out out, with other people around, we had to walk a long way, so doubly good for me and the right result, for us anyway.
I’ve done two voluntary drives today, good to be back in the swing. The clients are so grateful, a lot are lonely, so appreciate a chat, even if it is from the back of the car, both masked up.
I’ll catch up later x

soop Thu 12-Aug-21 16:07:37

Jax A little kindness goes a very long way. Good for you. smile

Yiayia Sinus infections are horribly painful. Rest, and we all send good wishes for a steady improvement once the antibio's have done their job. flowers

soop Thu 12-Aug-21 16:49:18

Once again, in late afternoon sunshine, I thank you all for your company. I shall return to our kitchen tomorrow. smile moon

brook2704 Thu 12-Aug-21 18:46:04

Hope you’re feeling much better soon Yia ?

Susan what a dreadful situation- how awful. I can only hope that the new hospital your FiL is now in is better than the last

muse Thu 12-Aug-21 20:29:58

Hello TillyTrotter. Welcome.

nannyTopsy I think one sore is verging on becoming an ulcer. The nurse at the surgery says not. MrM is back tomorrow for his dressings to be changed. He stayed off his feet till early afternoon today after a very painful night. I apologise for nagging and nagging but I wish he would question them more about the condition of the sore and the lack of really progress in it healing. The antibiotics did help but only with the other old bite. That one wasn't as bad when he first starting going to the surgery.

Have you thoroughly dried out brook. What a wet Wednesday!

Susan What shocking news about the hospital. I do hope he is settled in at the new hospital and their care is 1st class. Have you got to make an appointment to see him?

Take care Yiayia

It must be lovely to have the company in your car Jax. I loved my voluntary job when I lived in Derbyshire. Very tempted to see if I can do more here in Cornwall when the build nears completion.

Rosie is gorgeous Maw. Mya is currently curled up fast asleep on the only settee (2 seater). It's her visit to the vet tomorrow. No food just water and I have to exercise her (poop time) before going. I do hope they find what's causing these infections. If that's what is making her scratch her ear so much.

Pasta on the boil so I'm off to get the DH of mine. Sit him down again?

Blossoming Thu 12-Aug-21 20:31:43

Good evening lovely Kitcheners. Mr. B and I have had a trip to the coast today, the sun shone and we treated ourselves to fish and chips. They were absolutely delicious, always best eaten in the wrapping, by the sea! I am so full won’t need to eat again for a long time, drinking plenty of water though as that’s always important. I forgot to take the step counter, very naughty of me, back on the rehab program tomorrow. I did do some walking though, not all sitting in the sun.

Susan I am horrified at the way your FiL is being treated, I hope the new hospital is better. Yia you are having a rough time, hope the antibiotics make things a little more bearable soon.

Best wishes and virtual hugs to all, have a good night’s sleep folks.

brook2704 Thu 12-Aug-21 20:41:18

Sounds like a lovely day blosomming with delicious fish and chips by the sea - yummy!

Jaxjacky Thu 12-Aug-21 20:51:44

Sorry Tilly, so rude, hello ?
Hope Mya gets sorted muse, MrM’s ‘bite’ is a worry, I’d be fretting too, time for a bit of pushing maybe? Fish and chips by the sea, one of my targets when we’re on hols next month Blossoming
I’ll sleep well tonight, I think last night I was too buzzy after the cricket. You sleep well too kitcheners xx

Doodle Thu 12-Aug-21 21:27:53

Sorry to hear about your FIL Susan When DH broke his ribs at Christmas the physio said he should have someone help him walk every day. It never happened. There was no one to help and I wasn’t allowed in because of COVID.
Moving your FIL to another hospital without telling you is dreadful. What on Earth are they doing?
Yes soop I think I must concede that my pole dancing days are over (he wasn’t very happy about it anyway ?)
Yiayia sorry you’re not feeling so good. Hope you are on the mend soon.
Sounds like a lovely day blossoming
Hello Tilly and welcome.
Where is grandmafrench tonight? We had such fun with her doing the can can at your party soop that the Argy gang have decided to sail across to France and have a beach party with her.
We have secured a rather dodgy pirate ship, courtesy of ixion . Some French food from our ex waiter Fronc. The Admiral is coming to show us the way so all we need is a good weather forcast. ?
