Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright sunny start here in Brackley tis morning , hopefully will remain like that .
Unsure who else has Windows 10 , but I got a upgrade on it a few weeks back which indicates weather and temperature locally at the time of day .
Today , a quiet day no Tour De France as its the 1st rest day , only thing of note is at lunchtime as Bargain Hunt with Charlie Ross , comes from the Antiques Cellar , Charlie apparently lives locally as well.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dreich day again here on the east coast of Fife. My ds wee dog came inside after her first constitution with a wet coat. Thank goodness my tummy upset has disappeared I’m now hungry after starving myself yesterday.

Poached egg for breakfast on that lovely brown bread we’ve got, that’s the cousins away home now it’s a pity they didn’t take my ds away with them. It’s been a while since we’ve had the house to ourselves.hey ho that’s our bed made now I think we’re stuck with herwink

My new settee is getting delivered today I hope it’s firm enough for us auld yin’s to get out of grin

I think it’s a rest day for all three of us today. We’ll soon need to get organised for the annual family BBQ, fingers crossed the weather will be good I do so enjoy seeing family get togethers otherwise we’ll have to exclude some folks. My house won’t be large enough to have them all inside.fingers crossed for a beautiful day near the end of July

Thinking of all in misery today life will get better I keep praying for better things to come for all, I believe life will improve and the sun will rise againsunshine

Good morning all and it’s a bright start here in Essex.
Yesterday we set off for DS2 ‘s house in Hertfordshire in the pouring rain. By the time we got there it was hot and sunny. We had a lovely day with him and the family. Gorgeous roast dinner and lots of chat. Two gd’s 6 and 9 kept us entertained and then went off to play so the adults could catch up on all the grownup news. Their house has been completely transformed since we were last there, so it was great to see it in the flesh.

Today we have not much planned (lovely)! . I will pick up twin gs’s from their friends at some stage and bring them back here for something to eat and then pop them back home to await their parents and little sisters return from their weekend break.
Mick my Dh always watches Bargain Hunt. Charlie is a real character.

Safe journey home Ash

Jaxjack I hope Imogen’s pain subsides soon. ?
Ive watched the film ‘Yesterday’ twice now. Once at the cinema and once on tv. It is set in Suffolk, not far from our cottage. We did have a letter through asking if we would be willing to let our place for a scene in the film. Great excitement but we heard no more. They wanted somewhere isolated for the John Lennon scene. They chose Single Street in the end. Apparently Danny Boyle and his crew were seen have a look around our little hamlet.

Scentia I’ll be another still wearing a mask and using sanitizer.

Harrigran good to hear your DH is more mobile. ?

Susan I can just imagine Barnaby shouting ‘OI’ when the baptismal water tricked over his head. ?.

Marydoll hope your beef cakes make a good job of your decking. We need ours replaced too.

Wishing you all a safe, and pleasant day. ?
.

Grandmajean Mon 05-Jul-21 08:11:12

Spelling also affected ! Northwich and night.

dragonfly46 Mon 05-Jul-21 08:09:46

Good morning, as kitty says it is sunny in Leicestershire.

Not much on today - pick up a prescription and a laundry basket from Argos. Maybe a coffee in town.

Pleased to hear your DH is a little better Harrigran.

Will try and post the pics of Tideswell again.

Good morning from a damp but brightening Colchester. Mr Slow workman should be here any minute to lay our new front path. We've had a trench filled with hardcore to negotiate all weekend.
The back garden is looking good but we've noticed a few bits that we want him to put right ,but also we want him to just finish the jobs and go!!!

This morning we are visiting the car showroom to order a new vehicle. I have to go to make sure that DH doesn't spend too much or sign up for something unnecessary.

Ironing and watching Emma Radecanu this afternoon.

Lots of love x

Good morning. Very wet last ight in Chesire and more rain promised today !
ash and susan I live in the next village along from Cuddington and two miles from Nortwich ! Small world on Gransnet.
"Big shop" arriving this morning. I still wipe everything. Not a fun activity.
Think the restrictions must have affected my good taste ! Visited garden centre yesterday and bought some little flower solar lights and arranged on a bush in back garden. Now think they look naff.
Will come back later to read all posts.

Good morning from a sunny North.

We had a lovely time with DD2 and her family celebrating her 40th birthday, have put the house back to rights and slept like logs.

dragonfly, I love Tideswell - we had a holiday home there for a while until we found we didn't gave much time to enjoy it.

Enjoy your days everyone.

Alygran Mon 05-Jul-21 08:02:22

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s wet again. Yesterday we had terrific thunderstorms so the garden has taken quite a battering.
DD2 has just left to drive home to Derbyshire. It’s been lovely to have some company. Towels and bedding to sort today.
Hope Imogen has a more comfortable day, the strapping men turn up, orders are forthcoming and appointments go well.
Have a good day everyone. Stay safe.

Good morning from a bright and sunny Black Country, which is in contrast to the drenching we had yesterday.

Health walk this morning, as I missed the last two being away. Hope it stays dry.

It's good to see Festivals are happening again Ashcombe we usually go to Upton on Severn Blues Festival every July. Sadly it was cancelled for the 2nd year running this year. Hope you have a good journey back.

Hoping EV is ok, and sheepandcattle and our course gilly

Good morning Mick and All from a sunny South Bucks..

We are in recovery mode having returned last night from and exhausting but fun 6 days partly looking after the 2 grandsons and partly sorting out our DS’s garden. He is on his own with the boys half the week and has a demanding job, hence the garden was a wilderness. DH has done sterling work and everywhere outside looks great. We also managed to fit in 2 footie tournaments for our DGSs and saw them both score a goal.

We have a fortnight to get back on track and then have a much looked forward to holiday in the beautiful New Forest.

I must now try and catch up with what has been going on in The GM thread.

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy, dry corner of Somerset

Goodness did it rain yesterday, no thunder just unpredictable buckets of wet stuff. Mr C wants to press on with his to-do list, as it all seems to involve mess for me to clear up I’m not so keen.

Hope all goes well with the decking marydoll, although our health issues are minor in comparison we also have concerns about rising covid numbers. Hope today is less tense gelisajams, wishing your granddaughter a more comfortable day jax. Safe travels ashcombe, fingers crossed for a positive order outcome scentia. Pleased yesterday went well susan, the view from your room is fabulous.

Take care everyone, hope Monday is kind to us all.

I have no idea why I've posted twice!

Grandmabatty Mon 05-Jul-21 07:41:17

Good morning all. Polmont is wet today and was wet with thunder yesterday. Poor Imogen, JaxJacky. Good luck with the strapping young men Marydoll! My garden man hasn't reappeared yet so goodness knows when the hedges will be finished.
Today is a babysitting one. The rain makes garden play a little more difficult but we'll still go out. I'm not taking him to the park as thunder is still forecast. I love thunder and lightning but safer to view indoors. I cooked a load of mince in the slow cooker yesterday so today I will make shepherd pies. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a fairly sunny Ilfacombe. I’m hoping for a better day today as yesterday was a bit of a disaster. En route to the Bay where DH was walking from we caught up in time trials and then a triathlon! There must have been half the population of Devon taking part. By the time we arrived the rain was torrential and not forecast to ease for another 4 hours or so. DH was persuaded to abandon his walk and we all went back to the cottage with no plan B. It did improve a bit as we explored Ilfacombe in the afternoon. Even DS2 sensed the tension, he went out and returned with a little brightly coloured tortoise for me.
Hopefully today will be better as once I have dropped DH off I shall head to RHS Rosemore with DS in tow. I won’t have to get back to pick DH up as his destination today is the cottage.
Thinking of all with more serious problems! Take care everyone and stay safe ?

Alizarin Mon 05-Jul-21 07:33:12

Sorry, it didn't seem to appear the first time!

Alizarin Mon 05-Jul-21 07:32:01

Photo, hopefully!

Good morning from a grey NE.
We had a couple of very heavy showers during the night and my flower pots and baskets look bedraggled.
DS, DIL and youngest GD visited yesterday afternoon, not long after arrival eldest GD rang to say there was a terrible storm overhead. I understood her concern a few years ago they were struck by lightning and had to replace all the electricals in the house.
GDs finish school this week for an eight week summer break and are off to visit their other granny next weekend. They have promised to message me and send photos.
DH off to hospital this morning for his blood test prior to chemo on Wednesday, he has been much more mobile this weekend.
Enjoy today even though it is probably going to rain.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ? Northampton. For a change I am up showered and dressed already as I am being picked up at 9am to go yoga this morning - the first time for 18 months. It will be nice to see familiar/new faces. I hope it's an easy class today!

Then home, and do all the jobs I didn't do yesterday. Read the paper and do the puzzles this afternoon.

Hope we all have a good Monday.

Alizarin Mon 05-Jul-21 07:30:22

Good morning from a sunny south Cornwall, where I overnighted on my son's wonderfully comfy sofa. Fun yesterday making gingerbread biscuits of all shapes, including helicopters and sharks, with my 11-year-old grandson. 'I've missed doing this with you, Nana,' he said in his slightly croaky, grown-up voice. Such a sweet-natured boy, though strange to see him maturing so rapidly. His dad was much later reaching puberty. To Truro today for black knitting yarn for a sloppy joe for me. Last time I was there the bubble in the photo floated past me all on its own. No obvious owner. smile Hope your day goes well today, everyone.

Grandmadinosaur Mon 05-Jul-21 07:28:59

Good morning. It’s dark and drizzly here so far.
Gosh where did that weekend go? I met a friend for lunch which was lovely but I seem to have agreed to go with her on an overnight trip with a local company later in the year that I wasn’t too keen on but felt obliged to say yes to. How can I get out of it?
Yesterday we popped into the city centre as we have had a festival on. There was a band playing that I’m fond of. They’re called the New York Brass Band. They were playing around the streets and oh it was so good to hear live music. Thoroughly enjoyed that.
Home for lunch and relaxing the rest of the day. We also watched the film Yesterday. It’s funny I remember asking DH if he fancied going to see it when it came out at the cinema but he said no but he loved it too.
Today I’m catching up with housework and calls. I’m looking forward to the tennis this afternoon especially Emma Raducano I think this young lady is an amazing riding talent.
Safe journey home Ashcombe and have a good day all.

Good morning Mick, morning all from dreich South Lanarkshire.

DH has golf booked later but the rain is making that look unlikely. I’ll get on with some crochet I think last night I tried a little friendship bracelet with a tiny hook and fine cotton. It looks quite pretty so I’ll make some for the GDs. I’ve also started a shawl called Lost Souls which has a skull pattern, sounds odd but I like the look wit.

I’ve lost my reading mojo gM I suspect it’s down to increased screen time, I still buy books and download others to my kindle, I just don’t seem to get around to reading them all.

We watched Yesterday a couple of months ago Jaxjacky, very enjoyable. I hope Imogen’s burn isn’t too painful, poor girl.

Scentia fingers crossed that your business picks up. Worrying times.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Susan56 Mon 05-Jul-21 07:26:12

Good morning from Staffordshire. Its sunny in our part at the moment Scentia, hope it lasts??

Glad the knee is feeling better Beechnut?sorry is I owen is in pain, hope she is feeling better today??

Ash,the festival looks fun.My mum lives in Cuddington so Northwich is her nearest town.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a misty start to the day. Yesterday was a day of two halves, warm and dry in the morning then a dramatic thunderstorm in the afternoon that certainly watered everything in the garden for me.
Today we’ve got various sports activities to take the DGC to, football, games and dancing. I’m taking DGD to hers and DH taking DGS but we’ll meet up for lunch somewhere afterwards. I hope it’s dry otherwise it’ll be a picnic in the car although last time we did that I said never again with 2 children in the back eating grated cheese sandwiches ?
Thanks for the pictures Ash looks good and have a safe journey home
Gentle hugs for Imogen Jaxj brave girl and I hope the pain eases a bit soon
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?
