Golfer's elbow

Is this where the pain is on the inside of the elbow, whereas tennis elbow gives pain on the outside? If it is, then I think I got it from carrying lots of stuff over my shoulder. We were clearing rubbish from the overgrown chuch grounds and I carried lots of loads on a sheet with handles in each corner, slung over my shoulder and carried with my left hand up by my ear (if you see what I mean). They were quite heavy and the elbow was painful for a long time. I didn't go to the doctors, must consulted Dr Google and took a bit more care how I carried things. That was about four years ago and I still get an occasional twinge. I hope you soon get it sorted and feel better. Not sure if there is any treatment. Maybe cortisone injection?

Yes indeed and I do golf. A physio fitted me with a brace for the upper arm which rested the tendon and I recovered well.

Yes, the pain is on the inside of my elbow. Was doing a lot of gardening a few weeks ago. Digging and moving pots. Don't play golf even though it's called golfer's elbow. Glad to know it will heal in time. Thank you .

Would it also be called tennis elbow, which my doctor called my very painful arm, caused not by playing tennis but by carrying my daughter around for several days because she was ill?

Tennis elbow affects the outer side of the elbow, whereas golfers elbow affects the inner side.

Had it for months, lump the size of a half tennis ball, calmed down a lot now, rest, ibuprofen for the inflammation, only worth having it xrayed if your finger start to go numb and tingling, the tendons become inflamed, time like most things sorting it out. It’s not nice.

I had similar due to too much lifting in the wrong way, painkiller and rest improved it although I still have to be careful how I lift. So no easy quick fix don’t use painkiller to enable you to carry on, that will do more damage.

Thanks Sparkling and Katie59 for you advice. I'm not taking any pain relief. I bought an arm support yesterday. Not really helping. Limiting the use of my arm at the moment.

Sad to say healing it takes some weeks.

I first had that about 10 years ago, and it was incredibly painful. Mine started when a client (I did care work) used to repeatedly punch my arm when I was trying to shower her!

I had effective painkillers, which helped. It still flares up, on occasion.
