Espee enjoy your time on Loch Lomond. Your story of the wallaby reminded me that I saw 2 brown coloured piglets grazing on the side of the road near Whaley Bridge. At first I thought they were ornaments and was thinking they will soon get stolen, then realised they were moving!

Some photos of our hotel and the nature reserve

Morning Mick and all

We have returned from a short break in a luxurious hotel in the New Forest, where’re we could walk through a nature reserve to the beach it was bliss after not going anywhere for 19 months.

Unfortunately my dear BiL (DH’s brother) died whilst we were away, we knew it was a possibility having visited him last week. He died in his sleep with his wife sitting beside him.

My condolences to you and your family Scentia ?

Not sure what today will bring?

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Good morning from another rainy day in the Peak District.

My condolences to your family Scentia.

Muse the make of my boots is Scarpa, the most expensive but also the most comfortable pair of walking boots I have ever owned. The shopping village we visited is in Rowsley. I think another victim of Covid, quite a few of the shops gone and after visiting Bakewell the previous day where it was bustling with activity, it felt eerily quiet. I did google Cauldwell Mill, but the actual mill is closed for repairs at present. Such a beautiful part of the world.

Our walk yesterday took us through Eyam village where they cut themselves off from the country when the plague came in the 16 century. Our walk took us past graves of families, where they all died in quick succession and the Boarder stone where the villagers would leave money for food. Very interesting particularly in view of of the current pandemic.

Another walk planned for today with our wet weather gear on. Freddie loves the rain but not the palaver of a rub down and blow dry when we get back. The rain obviously agrees with his coat as he is looking very fluffy and shiny.

Football and takeaway this evening. Wishing all a good day and may the best team win

Good morning, everyone, from a cloudy but bright Tobay, if that makes sense?!

Condolences to Scentia, your DH and family on the loss of your father-in-law. It sounds like he wasn’t ill for long and it’s some comfort that your DH was there in time. A busy time ahead for which one is never fully prepared.

Your friend is lucky to have regular outings with you, grandMattie, even if she doesn’t show her appreciation. Have a safe trip and enjoy the chance to be close to nature, Espee! Sounds wonderful!

Following my high BP last week, I’m due an ECG at my surgery this morning. Last time, in January, 2020, it gave a result suggesting I’d had a heart attack but I hadn’t! I do receive good care here, including at the hospital, but my BP remains stubbornly high, despite the best efforts of the surgery and cardiology staff.

Hope everyone has some brightness in their day. ⛅️??

Good morning everyone,
So sorry to hear of your loss Scentia, I hope your husband is coping well. Being with his dad at the end will make it easier I hope.

We are off to Balmaha in a minute to spend the next couple of days on beautiful Loch Lomond. A very sunny morning here. With hindsight we should have gone yesterday as the expected rain didn't materialise. At least we got the grass cut and completely filled the wheelie bin with prunings.
On Loch Lomond we will firstly check out the osprey nest to see if the young are visible yet, have a sail, wind permitting then claim a bay for the night. We hope to anchor in the bay where we saw a wallaby last week. I need to get a photo as we were too stunned when we realised it wasn't a deer. We just gazed at it through our binoculars in wonderment. No, we hadn't been smoking wacky baccy. We saw a wallaby! Will report back tomorrow.

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where we have a bright and sunny start to the day.

My condolences Scentia flowers.

I’m walking with a friend this morning, not sure of our route, we’ll just follow our noses I think.

Wimbledon and football took up all of DH’s evening yesterday, good job I can zone out. I’ve finally got the hang of the crochet pattern I’m doing so I can relax more as I’m working on it.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Good morning from a sunny E Kent. Quite chilly though at 13C at the moment.
Doing the laundry today - pairing socks and ironing shirts on the menu.
Taking my old friend out. It is a terrible palaver with having to open/shut her Zimmer frame just so, etc., and not saying anything that might cause her to launch into hurtful passive/aggressive mode. All very wearing, but less than all the stuff I would have to do to visit in the Home. I just turn up and bundle her into the car.
DS1 is off to Bristol today for a week visiting his sister. I’m sending Iris’ new trousers with him. I hope she likes them.
Trust today will be kind to all esp. the poorly, anxious or sad. ???☀️???????

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it looks like a wet day ahead.
My dearest Father in Law died yesterday morning, he was taken into hospital on Monday afternoon snd was gone by noon on Tuesday. My DH arrived just 10 minutes before he died, which made him feel like he had made a difference. You can never practice all the stuff that needs doing now.

Mick DH showed me some photos of Tommy Simpson yesterday and he looked very cool, DH has ordered a poster of one of them it looks very iconic.

Have the best day you can my friends, I am spending today with my 2 grandchildren and that will cheer me up no end.
