Good Morning Everyone,
Its cloudy but dry here in Brackley this morning, it will be a usual day for me after staying in yesterday .
I will have my usual hour in Bicester using the bus , do a small shop and cafe stop , it seems to have gone down as to people out and about . There are high admission as to covid , with Oxford being one key area for those admissions .
But will proceed with care , but think the PM has taken a gamble or he does not care about Joe Public .
Take Care,
Mick

What a lovely photo Gingster. It’s our 50th in October and as yet I haven’t organised any celebration. I really need to get my skates on. Have a lovely time on Saturday. ?

Marydoll Thu 08-Jul-21 08:35:49

Ginny, beautiful!

Feelingmyage55, thanks for theTesco reminder. I nearly forgot to cancel mine, cupboards are bursting, no need for an order.

Good morning all from sunny Lancashire where it promises to be another beautiful day. I’m still in bed waiting to take my second lot of morning meds, having a lie in! Yesterday was my birthday, Mr. B took me out for the day. We went to Shap fell, it was glorious, we took a picnic and saw more sheep than people. We called into The Chocolate Factory at Orton, Mr. B has bought me an enormous box of delicious handmade chocolates for my birthday. It really is a lovely shop, they do mail order but it’s nicer to visit. It’s the longest journey I’ve been on since December 2019 and I slept like a log last night.

Wishing everyone the best day possible ?

Good morning Mick and all from a warming up ‘slightly’ South Bucks.

I wasn’t going to post today as I thought I had nothing interesting to impart, then I read Marydoll’s post and was rolling around laughing at the thought of her cerise bra and undies adorning the garden. Best laugh of the day. ?.

I’ll check on Amazon Alizarin to see if I can hire an outrageous flirt to come and give you a whirl on your beach. Anything is possible. ??

Gingster

Someone asked to see our wedding pic (sorry I’ve forgotten who). Golden anniversary on Saturday.

It was me ?. Thank you. Love it. What have you planned for the celebration?

Feelingmyage55 Thu 08-Jul-21 08:32:30

Good morning from a fresh north of Scotland.
I have not been quite myself recently but hopefully picking up again.
Susan ?
Jaxjacky ? for you and Imogen
We may be in Scotland but the roar from the village last night each time England scored was heartening. I want to stay in the UK so loved hearing the joy. I was not watching, having already seen lots of tall, strong men with racquets comporting themselves in exemplary fashion.
A cloud lover here too, and often take an evening drive to see what is happening over the mountains. I love a cloud inversion where you go above the clouds, it becomes clear and you see all the tops “floating”. Lifts the heart.
Off to pot up some lovely bedding plants my neighbour brought over to cheer me up - it did and does. Then prepare for the arrival of a gigantic Tesco order as I decided not to shop given the incredible COVID spike here.
Have the best day you can.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 08-Jul-21 08:25:51

Beautiful bride and groom Gingster??

GrannyGravy13 Thu 08-Jul-21 08:25:02

Morning Mick and all

Yep it’s definitely grey Gingster I have ironing to do and need to go to local shops for veggies and fruit.

The 6yr old and his brother The Imp
FaceTimed me earlier singing its coming home he is really into sport and so happy with last nights result (can’t say the same for our Danish DiL and GC though shock)

DH is helping his SiL with funeral plans today, may drive up to see her at the weekend. It’s a comfort to know her sisters live nearby as do her daughters, they are all a very close knit part of the family, she is well supported.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Good morning all from beautiful bonnie Scotland where it looks like being another stunning day here on Loch Lomond. We were hoping that the wallaby we saw last week would again have an early morning drink at the place we first spotted him/her last but the only mammals sighted so far today are a squirrel and a fallow deer.
A Swan appeared from nowhere with two cygnets the minute we started on our scrambled egg. Teaching them bad habits. We didn't feed them even though they gazed at us pleadingly.
If there is a breeze later we will have a sail. If not we will motor up the loch and find somewhere for lunch.
Have a peaceful day everyone.

Gingster Thu 08-Jul-21 08:12:16

Good morning all and it’s grey here in Essex.
Yesterday DH went fishing so I had no car. Walked up to The town with my trusty trolley (best thing I ever bought). It’s uphill all the way so a bit of a killer. . It was market day so had a browse and filled said trolly. I almost ran down the hills back home , with trolley overtaking me ?. DD came in after work with her shopping so we refilled the trolley and walked back to her house. Walked the dog and felt shattered for the rest of the day. ?.

Today I have bowls this morning. I usually have my art group in the afternoon but haven’t heard when it will be re-starting yet.

Susan and Alizirin - families are complex . My DS1 and DS2 have always been close but are very different. DS1 is hosting our golden wedding gathering on Saturday. DS2 has just told us he and family won’t be able to get there until 2 hours later than arranged. DS1 isNOT happy. I’ve said ‘no problem’ and try to keep the peace. Not a serious situation but niggly all the same ?.

DD said she can hear little Gd (5) singing in her bedroom ‘it’s comin ome, it’s comin ome, footballs comin ome! ?

Lovely pics on here today. I love cloud watching too Ash

Wishing you all a good day ?

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Sainsbury's delivery this morning and that is about all the excitement for the day.
BIL's investigations, at the hospital, showed there was no cause for worry which is a great relief.
DH's chemo session was okay and the nurse was very gentle which meant his arm wasn't bruised.
DH stayed up to watch the match and I busied myself with trivial things while finishing a bottle of rose wine I found in the fridge.
I will be watching GD's assembly on the computer today, she has won the junior house art prize and will be presented with a cup. They break up tomorrow and do not return until 8th September. Uniform wearing recommences for autumn term, I bet that is a relief for parents.
Enjoy the sun today.

Lins1066 Thu 08-Jul-21 08:11:54

Good morning all from a cloudy central London, where is the promised sunshine?
I enjoyed the train journey up yesterday, the train wasn't busy. We had a lovely meal last night in a leafy, football free pub garden. Walked back to the hotel past lots of very full hostelries, a good atmosphere. Later we will take the tube to Wimbledon and see the Ladies semi finals.
Susan wishing you a gentle day, take care.
Hope today will be kind to us all, thinking of our missing posters.

Pittcity Thu 08-Jul-21 08:03:15

Good morning from sunny Colchester. I can see dark clouds in the distance, rain is in the forecast.
Good news, our workman has finished!!! We have a patio and path. DH told him that we would tidy up and put the finishing touches on. He has left the materials and we will do it today. We may also nip to B&Q for a few bits and do a supermarket shop.
DH has been busy planning for Saturday night until I told him that the football final wasn't until Sunday! It was much quieter here last night after the initial fireworks and sirens, probably because it was a "school night".

Love to all x

Good morning Mick and all morningsters.

Dry mid Cornwall and having my mug of Earl grey in bed. MrM had a brilliant afternoon sailing with his friend. Groundwork continues today.
Agree about lifting of restrictions Mick.

Love the cloud photos and gardens.

Sorry to hear about the disturbed night’s sleep Susan and the ?relative. Hope tonight’s better.

Well done England. More tennis for me today. Doctor wanted to see leg today so I will take photos. Swelling is still there, as is calf pain. Slow progress. Think Pilates will have to be missed tonight. ☹️☹️

I haven’t read all posts so will be back later after breakfast. I can hear the eggs being cracked ?.

????

Good morning everyone from a very bright start to the day here on the east coast of Fife where the bin men woke me up quite early. That’s the joy of living on the main road.

Yesterday was a fruitful day where I was on a zoom with great friends/ aquaintences , afterwards I had a visit to my dentist in the beautiful town of St. Andrews, I was pleased to report to him my problem had settled down since making the appointment and after a serious look in my mouth he said I had scratched my gum and it was healing so no treatment was required at no cost either smile

Having had a good sleep my dh and I are going to venture into our nearby wee village this morning to look for a birthday present for my ds who like most folks I know has everything and she doesn’t appreciate being given flowers not like me I love presents of flowers ? it’s very tryingconfused this birthday shopping.

Wearing masks and keeping safe is the order for the day.

Have a good day everyone enjoy the sunshine sunshinewhile it lasts

Good morning from a cloudy but increasingly bright Black Country.

Spent a portion of yesterday morning getting the weeds out of the block paving on the drive! The heavy rain started just as I had finished.

Over to DD's house today, to let the dog out for an hour, then Mum and I will have lunch at the local village pub. Stay to meet the girls off their school coach.

Wishing you all a good day, with special thoughts to all our missing friends, and those with health and family worries.

Grandmabatty Thu 08-Jul-21 07:50:27

Good morning all. Lovely blue skies in Polmont this morning, at least so far. Marydoll it sounds like your deck will be lovely when it's all finished. I have one from my bedroom and I never use it so I'm contemplating getting it removed. Susan my sympathies. Mum decided she would be difficult yesterday so I know what it's like. JaxJacky good to know things are settling with Imogen. Ashcombe lovely photos again. Dwm enjoy your trip. Wonder of wonders, the garden man turned up at half three and didn't stop til half seven. He just has a wee bit left to do.
Today I have no plans. I think a gentle potter is in order. Whatever your plans are,I hope today is a good one.

cornergran Thu 08-Jul-21 07:47:44

Morning Mick, morning All. Cloud cover over our corner of Somerset rather than the promised sunshine. hmm.

Hope today proves to be less stressed susan, rest when you can. You could always post a photo of your staircase greyd and let us choose the colour smile. Enjoy your time with Imogen jax. We’ve recently replaced a tv marydoll, after long deliberation Mr C decided the one I had suggested first would be best. I’ve learned over the years such purchases are like Spring bulbs, planted in Autumn and flowering several months later.

Busy day yesterday, we seemed to be going from one necessary thing to another. Had planned a gentle sea front stroll in sunshine today, the big debate will be do we do it in cloud. Our very poorly neighbour is home with a live in carer. We’re so pleased for her. She phoned twice yesterday while we were out, must be sure we speak today.

Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

ginny Thu 08-Jul-21 07:36:11

Good morning to you all.
Today we leave our friends to travel on to the Lizard Peninsula.
Looking forward to that but sad to leave our friends. One couple are going home and the other we are leaving here in Brixham where they live. We have had a lovely week, chatting, eating reminiscing and lots of laughter.
Hope things get better for those of you with worries , pain and illness and that you can all find a smile along the way.

Sar53 Thu 08-Jul-21 07:30:29

Good morning from Essex by the sea where it is cloudy at the moment, hopefully may brighten up later.
Food shopping this morning and more cutting out of curtains this afternoon.
My visit to the dentist went well yesterday and the deep clean has made a big difference.
The game last night was a difficult watch but we are through to the final on Sunday, where we have to do it all over again ???????. Well done lads !!!
Enjoy Thursday everyone and find that ? xx

Scentia Thu 08-Jul-21 07:28:03

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where the sun has got his hat on?
DFiL death has knocked me for six and it is being referred to a coroner, not sure why but I have a meeting at his care home today so I hope to find out something from there.
Ashcombe. I am not sure how Cruises’ have still been allowed to go ahead, they are breeding grounds in the best of times. Don’t know about others but I will want to hold off on a cruise for a few years yet.
Off to work shortly as we got a good few jobs in yesterday which was a bright chink in the day.
Hope everyone has a good day and anyone with any worries can find some relief. ?

Grandmajean Thu 08-Jul-21 07:25:55

Agree too soon to lift all Covid restrictions!

Greyduster Thu 08-Jul-21 07:25:36

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a brightening South Yorkshire. I have an early appointment with the doctor this morning and then later we may go out for a walk. We went out to get more paint samples yesterday and called in on DD for tea and sympathy. My staircase looks like Joseph’s coat of many colours☹️.
Dwmxwg enjoy your walk at Chatsworth. We were there last week and it was lovely. If you can manage the walk up to the hunting tower there are wonderful views from there.
Enjoy your day with Imogen, Jax.
A good safe day to all.

Ashcombe Thu 08-Jul-21 07:24:45

I’ve just looked up the names of the three currently off Torquay: Queen Mary, Ventura and Regal Princess. Further round the bay, off Paignton, are Queen Victoria and Arcadia.
