Pressed post by accident. I am not as alert as I normally am as the anti-histamine I took last night has me feeling quite dopey. A wasp stung me on my forehead whilst we were on Loch Lomond and it still hurts like crazy. I took Phenergan which always knocks me out so a very late start for me this morning.
For the lady who asked about the ospreys we saw two occupied nests this visit (there is another we saw occupied last week). One had one adult standing on it (usually a sign the nest is full of growing babies) The other was attended by both parents and for the first time we saw 3 little heads popping up. We stay well away and use binoculars. My camera is not powerful enough to take a decent photo unfortunately.
Yesterday started sunny but rapidly became overcast but very hot. 25C. Fortunately the breeze and motoring about kept us cool.
Today I need to put in some hours in the garden. Looks like we will be dining on those prolific mange tout exclusively this week.
Hope everyone has a pleasant day.

I meant to say that the reason I detailed all my cleaning in DD’s house was to say that that’s more cleaning than I would normally do in a week or two!!
The things we do for love. grin

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning from Shropshire.A warm but dull start.

Thank you for all your support yesterday. It really helped.I’m sorry that so many of you have similar situations?
I went to Ikea yesterday with DD.She is a psychologist so the drive there was like a therapy session! It was good to talk it all out.

Very strict rules in Ikea in the restaurant. We had to book a table on arrival. There was a two hour wait.In the huge restaurant only 22 tables available.Taken to our table then one person allowed to go and order.Apparently last week it was 45 tables but reduced because of the rising numbers of Covid cases.

When we got home DD had a meeting so we looked after the children.Much to Henry’s delight, Stanley, DGD’s little Shetland pony realised he could limbo under the electric fence and get right up to the garden fence!H had a great time feeding grass through the fence for him.

H day today then school pick up and DGD coming for a sleepover.

Mary,DD has chronic asthma and has the hacking cough too?DH gave her Ipecacuanha cough syrup this morning which she said she could feel burning it’s way down but in a good way?I want her to go to the drs but she said mum I will know if I need to go to the drs, you are probably the same!Hope you feel better as the day goes on??

Alizarin, I was brought up in Liverpool.I left aged 24, many years ago but still miss it.Whenever we go back it feels like going home.

Hope everyone enjoys their outings and times with grandchildren.Take care all.

Thinking of all with illness, anxiety and worries.

Have the best day you can all??

Good morning from as kitty says cloudy Leicestershire.

What a lovely thread this. It has made me laugh, Marydoll although get that cough seen to; made me cry Grandmadinasaur that so reminded me of our little one and Elizabeth look at you! Well done.

Not much on today - trot round the block with DH then longer walk this afternoon with friend which will involve coffee.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where we have cloud cover but it feels very close.

Yesterday’s National Trust visit didn’t happen sadly. DD and family are on holiday just now and she had asked if I could go to her house to let her cleaners in as she didn’t think they had keys. DD works from home so is always there to let them in. No problem says I, we can do that then go out.

Their start time is 11.45 so we were there at 11.30, DH watered the pots outside and I read a magazine. At 12.15 I decided I would just make a start as they probably weren’t coming. DH was instructed to hoover, I went around the house dusting and cleaning surfaces and then started on the three upstairs bathrooms. I left them gleaming and was just finishing the downstairs loo when I heard voices and a key in the front door. Grrr! I almost sent them packing as it was now almost 2 o’clock but common sense prevailed. I left them with instructions to deep clean the kitchen, mop all the hard floors and clean the windows. I have no idea if they will have worked the three contracted hours though.

We then went to the local supermarket cafe for a restorative cup of tea and cake instead of our afternoon out so not quite the day we had planned although DH did get his free newspaper so he was happy.

Charity shop all day today, I’ll let you know if there’s any great bargains to be had.

Look after yourselves and have the best day possible.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun has got his South Yorkshire hat on. We went for a long walk around the country park and back yesterday and while we were sitting by the lake drinking coffee and watching the paddle boarders, some kind of large fly bit me on the finger and drew blood. Last night and this morning it is itching fit to bust and driving me mad. Nothing much planned today - have to buy a birthday card for a friend’s 80th, and buy some meat for a family lunch this weekend.
Momb enjoy your Yorkshire walk!
Have a good day, one and all.

Alygran Fri 09-Jul-21 08:32:36

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another lovely sunny day here.
I’m off to the edge of the moors today to meet a friend for coffee. I seem to be doing a lot of that in the last few weeks.
I must get some gardening done afterwards too.
Marydoll is it with a call to your gp?
Have a good day everyone. Stay safe.

Trying to stand upright yesterday

Esspee Fri 09-Jul-21 08:28:17

Good morning everyone from a bright but overcast 17C so a warm slightly humid Glasgow.
Came down to a small vase of freshly picked sweet peas by my chair, the first from our huge tubs on the patio. The scent is beautiful, I wish I could share it with you all.

Good morning all from what appears to be a dull overcast start to the day

yesterday morning was such a treat when we went to the beach and had an ice cream cone I even succumbed to taking a few tentative steps along the path at the beach I felt so strong both in body and in mind. Later on in the day my dear friends sent messages of their sons wife having had twin boys they look so cute

I’ve a busy day today the boss lady is coming in to help me shower this morning she’s also going to help me to make cauliflower and cheese sauce this afternoon while himself shoots off to play golf here’s hoping he’s on good form he says there’s a competition coming up soon

Have a lovely Friday everyone hope your troubles are little ones wink

Grandmajean Fri 09-Jul-21 08:19:28

Good morning from sunny Cheshire.
Haven't read any posts yet so will come back when boring chores done.
As good a day as possible all .

NannyJan53 Fri 09-Jul-21 08:18:41

Good morning from a cloudy Black Country, where it was sunny 30 minutes ago!

Lovely day yesterday, lunch with Mum, then met two DGD's from the school coach.

Number 3 DGD is 12 today! Time flies, one minute a toddler, next a young lady.

Grandmadinosaur your DGS certainly has a very diplomatic way of asking for ice-cream, that really made me smile.

Marydoll I hope you feel better as the day goes on. I agree with cornergran

Did any of you receive an odd PM yesterday? I had one from a Micheal32 (not our Mick ) which said
"Each day brings new opportunities, those who start their day early, grab them before others. Good Morning"
That was it, very strange.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 09-Jul-21 08:17:22

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Get that cough seen to Marydoll I know how debilitating they can be. I had a hacking cough for 5 years, the docs ignored my pleas to go to the respiratory clinic until I could hardly walk for lack of breath. I was finally sent to the hospital where I was diagnosed with TB!! My lungs are now damaged. Thanks to the docs!! I don’t know who I infected!! Get your cough seen to - NOW.

harrigran Fri 09-Jul-21 08:01:08

Good morning from a dry NE.
Yesterday started badly, the Sainsbury delivery didn't happen. We have no idea what happened but had to rearrange, soonest is 10pm tonight.
Watched GD's end of term assembly and saw her receive her awards for art, violin and piano.
I decided to do some spraying with weedkiller during the afternoon, not my garden as such but the pavement around the house and all the gutters were thick with weeds. LA don't seem to do this kind of thing now.
Enjoy your outings but take care, it is still out there.

ginny Fri 09-Jul-21 07:58:29

Good morning everyone.
Looking a bit dull on the Lizard peninsula where we arrived yesterday.
I think we will go to Lizard village and then walk to explore a couple of coves. So many pretty ones around here.

Hope you all find a smile today.

cornergran Fri 09-Jul-21 07:53:23

Morning Mick, morning All from an overcast corner of Somerset.

Walk to wall sunshine yesterday after the cloud cleared tempted us to the beach. Coffee with a view out to sea, a walk along the beach and lunch outside a beach cafe made for a relaxed and happy day. Mr C of course resembles a tomato as he and sun screen are strangers in spite of my advice (nagging!)

The cloud today will ensure we catch up with chores, several inches of dust to remove and ‘stuff’ to tidy away.

Would it be wise to seek medical advice marydoll? You sound proper poorly. Pleased you enjoyed Wimbledon Lins, we all need a change of scene at times.

Take care everyone, hope Friday is kind to us all.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 09-Jul-21 07:50:35

Good morning and the sun is out ?
Yesterday we had dgs so we took him to a beach not too far away from home. Like most little ones he adores the beach. We went on the beach, had fish and chips then he went on some kiddies rides. As we came off there he said “if I had an ice cream now it would be the perfect day” he melts my heart and that’s what we did. All 3 of us were shattered when we got home.
Today I will have an easy day I’ve got a haircut booked at lunchtime then I shall watch tennis. I need to do some food shopping at some point but who knows when I will fit that in ?
Have a good day everyone

Pittcity Fri 09-Jul-21 07:48:32

Good morning from an almost sunny Colchester. Another warm day with an odd shower in the forecast.
A weekend shop and a bit more gardening before settling down with tennis on the TV.

Love to all x

Gingster Fri 09-Jul-21 07:44:13

Good morning all and it’s another greyish start here in Essex.
Im Dog walking with my friend at 9.30 and will go back to hers for a coffee. Then dh and I will go to our usual country pub to meet old friends (the chaps were all at school together) but the wives meet more regularly.

I love The Repair Shop Scentia . Give us the nod if you are due to appear on it.

The ladies semi finals at Wimbledon were outstanding yesterday. Lucky you to be there Lins

brook enjoy your family holiday. It sounds lovely.

Wishing you all a good day. ?

Gelisajams Fri 09-Jul-21 07:26:30

Good morning from a sunny Ilfacombe. Today we are heading to Taunton to see my friend. Regular readers to this thread will know I speak to her every Saturday at 8:30am. I haven’t seen her in over 2 years. I’m not sure what DH and DS2 will do!
Take care everyone and stay safe ?

Marydoll Fri 09-Jul-21 07:26:16

Good morning all from a wet and muggy, Somewhere near Glasgow. Its 13C and predicted to go up to 21C.

DH is golfing and the workmen have gone, so an unexpected empty. Me, I'm not sure what to be up to. It's difficult to find something to do, keeping out of trouble would be a good idea! wink
I'm embarrassed to go anywhere, due to the hacking cough, I have. I began to doubt myself last night, so took my temp and did, yet another Covid test. People keeping body swerving me and giving me dirty looks. Body swerving is good! Keeps me safer. ?
According to my infra red thermometer, info booklet, I have hypothermia and should be in hospital and the oximeter indicates that my oxygen levels are so low, I'm hardly breathing!!!! I may be on my way out, and not to the shops either! ?
What on earth is going on?

The first stage of the decking has been completed, but it needs another wash. We should be able to get our table and chairs on it, but nothing else, as it still has no glass sides yet.
It means that the grass ( DH's pride and joy, is no longer the green pasture it was before the decking work ☹) can now be cut and my fruit bushes and tubs moved back to where they belong. I will ask my boys to do that at the weekend! Despite what he thinks, they are too heavy for MrStubborn to move on his own.

MOM, I haven't noticed you posting for a while, good to see you. ? Enjoy your day.
Scentia, please keep us up to date with the Repair Shop application. I read somewhere that there was an outcry, as it looks like another series won't be commissioned. I hope I have got that wrong.
I'm looking forward to hearing how you got on yesterday, Baubles and hopefully see some photos from Espee. I haven't been in Balmaha, since I was a child.

Wishing you all a pleasant day and love to all who are struggling.

Grandmabatty Fri 09-Jul-21 07:24:46

Good morning all. I'm off to M&S shortly. I have friends coming to afternoon tea and I wasn't up to the usual home baking so it's a mark's tea! Dd said she would nip in with dgs later in the afternoon as she's very fond of my friend. So it's a busy wee house today. Have a good day all.

Alizarin Fri 09-Jul-21 07:23:19

Morning all from an overcast south Cornwall. Had a lovely dream in which I was in Liverpool (where I lived for a while and which I miss) and was so disappointed when I woke up and found I wasn't! My dad was northern and I've never felt I quite fit in down south ha ha.

To a friend's for coffee and a good natter, then home to make up the guest bed in my art room for my son who's letting his flat for three nights with Air BnB. Squeezed in my little home we will have a laugh. The best of days to you all. So glad Imogen is ok Jaxjacky.

Good morning from a cloudy central London.
Had a good day at Wimbledon yesterday, the semi finals were excellent. When we first arrived we went for a late breakfast, two ladies on the next table were having croissants and Pimms, now that's the way to start the day.
An Uber for Millbank is booked for 9.30, then a boat trip.
grandMattie when a Seniors golf tournament was held very near us a few years ago, the golf village was a sight to see. It must be even more so for the Open.
Hope everyone will have a pleasant day.
