Just loads of salt. The small things in life give the most pleasure. At least that’s what my sister says her husband used to tell her.
Recalled for a further appointment after a routine mammogram

Brown sauce, ketchup, mayonnaise or vinegar on all these chips?
DH likes mayonnaise on his. Yuk. Just wrong. He's a strange man...
Get thee behind me Satan !! A Hot Air Fryer and supermarket frozies. You know how to put temptation in an old ladies path ! I’m banned from having a fryer though as on a serious note in my younger ( much younger ) days I set my kitchen on fire TWICE. I can still remember the sweetest sound I’ve ever heard - the sound of a fire engine on its way. I could have kissed the ground.
So I will watch the timer on the microwave Rufus2. Even though mine take about three and a half minutes in my ancient microwave. You antipodeans must have extra speedy chips ?
Hello Rufus Glad you had a good birthday. That nicely matured cake sounds wonderful to me.
9 Not good about covid in Sydney and you are still in lockdown.
Sleep well.
Hi Rufus, pleased you enjoyed your birthday, cake and what you’re not allowed to call Sherry, very civilised. I’ve just put my shorts back on for the Friday pub wander, unfortunately no snug, but no food either, if you’re hungry there are various packeted snacks. It’s a ‘proper’ pub, we’ll probably sit outside and set the world to rights, football may well enter the conversation, our seats are reserved for Sunday ??????????????.
So it’s a warm, 21c, evening, I’ve greenhouse pottered and covered up some of the allotment that won’t be used this year, it was so overgrown when I took it over, uphill struggle.
Our last Covid stats (Sunday) showed 11 cases in our village out of approx 10,500 people, we have a large school, so for all I know they could all be there. Anyway, enjoy your Saturday and really, really Take care ?.
Infinity2 "Microwave chips!? Everybody said it couldn't be done, but I loved them. Especially the crinkly ones, but I guess you've found out that 30 secs in the microwave means what it says; 35 secs and they come out like .303 ammo! Even our friendly Maggies can't get into them!
Solution? A Hot-Air fryer and frozen Supermarket chips! Never looked back!
Chip butty!? Only heard of jam butty! I live and learn!
Good Health
Hi Rufus2 - Friesday - brilliant ! Am about to raid my freezer for some microwave chips for a chip butty after being triggered by your post !
Yes - I admit it - I am a bit of a cordon bleu chef, though modest ? Stay away from those germs !!
Sounds like you had a good time on your birthday Rufus2. I do like sound of that cake.
You old charmer- that was me in the photo! DD has no interest in antiques. DS would have come too as he loves old interesting things but, alas, he has the Covid. He's OK but is exhausted and feverish. Not a happy bunny. All the staff at the restaurant where he works have it too so it's had to be closed again. All very worrying. He's only had his first jab.
We're off to Galloway on Sunday for a few days. A lovely area that always seems very quiet. Good!
Enjoy the football
Good Evening Friesday;
Here we are again; Another day, another dollar!
Thank you all for my birthday greetings; it was very kind of you!
In fact, it prompted me to think up a new collective name for you!
“Granadears” Too soppy? OK!
Grandmafrench Loved your poem, although I assume ”doggie years” wasn’t an inducement to start marking out my territory!? Our two previous dogs Rufus and Jessie sadly did enough of that in their later years.
I'm on 2 diuretics so I don't need any further urging! When you gotta go, you gotta go and quick!
Aveline Is that your daughter in the photo, helping out with “the beastie”?
And what were you all doing? We get regular episodes of that programme, so should we look out for you in due course?
My birthday cake was the remaining half of a large iced Christmas cake, nicely matured,
and No! It hadn’t been left out in the rain at MacArthur Park. (Love that song!)
The accompanying “tipples” were a quality Aussie Shiraz and a Cream Apera; we’re not allowed to call it Sherry!
Infinity2 Thank you! It’s not the knees up version anymore; it has to be the “TKR” version, but that doesn’t lend itself into a song!
Perhaps we should pass that over to Grandmafrench!?
Megs Steady on with those extra glasses following the Wedding!
You’re a born optimist! 6 years to the telegram!?
It won’t be an SMS or email ‘cos She or He won’t know my address and I won’t be here anyway!
Where I’d like to be right now is in a warm St,Austell “snug” with Muse, some Real Ale and a few packets of crisps!
It’s 10.17pm and 6C out there!
Sadly, Sydney had 44 new cases yesterday so no reprieve from further lockdown.
Now, let’s hear it for England; hope they have it sewn up 5-0 by half-time and don’t rely on a dubious penalty in the last minute.
Good Health
