Good morning all from Polmont. It is very grey out and has been raining. Gingster happy golden anniversary to you both. Have a lovely day. Brooke enjoy your holiday. Scentia good for your daughter! Enjoy time with your dgc. Ashcombe have a great time at the ballet. I love ballet. I went when I was a child and was spectacularly bad at it as I was very stecky (good Scots word) and not particularly graceful. I love watching it though.
The afternoon tea was really nice yesterday, mainly thanks to marks and Spencer. DD nipped in with dgs to see the friends. He is a big fan of cake and quietly went into the dining room while we were talking and stole a macaroon. He produced it with a flourish and was very proud ?. I had given him a macaroon when he arrived so clearly he's a fan of them. Unfortunately it didn't stay down long but he threw up at home. I don't think his mum is too pleased with me ?
I tidied up after they left and watched telly sipping prosecco. A good day.
Today I woke later than usual and I haven't had breakfast yet. I have a quiet day ahead. I hope you all have a good day.

Good morning everyone from a damp cool start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. That’s himself up and all dressed ready for the day when we’re meeting up with old friends who we’ve not seen for a few years lots to catch up on. We’re having lunch together in a posh restaurant I’ve had to ask if they will provide an off menu dish for himself he’s not overly excited with their menu. Fuss pot that he is. Luckily he will be getting a nice fat juicy steak with crispy potatoes as suggested. I’ll be getting the non alcoholic Prosecco there’s much to celebrate this morning .

Last night we had to sleep with the fan on and both windows wide open it was really hot the previous night. Thankfully the weathers cooled down a little.

I made cauliflower and cheese sauce with my carer yesterday it was really delicious and there was some left over for another time just for me no one in this house likes cheese they don’t know what they’re missing silly fusspots.

Ive booked a table for 5 ladies at a local restaurant for next Friday must watch what and how much I’m eating these days I’ll be getting rotund soon. At least we’ll have a lovely catch up.

Finally, must be careful out there this part of the country seems to be spiking like other parts around. Me and himself continue to take 2 pcp tests twice weekly We’ll be taking one when wecome home today after our lunch to ensure I’m not carrying.

Good Morning everyone. I’m already in my sunglasses in a shady seat with breakfast. ‘Already’ translated means ‘early for me’ - whereas some of you busy folk will undoubtedly have been up and out, done half a day’s work, collected the shopping, cut the grass, hung out the laundry and be almost ready to bump into yourselves coming back by now! Respect to all of you … I’ll just sit here a bit longer and watch the soaring gulls and smell the oleander.

My one pill a day (plus a stomach-protecting one) from the Rheumatologist has had a miraculous effect on my ankle! I shall make an appointment at the Scanner Clinic next week and then go back to see him for some bespoke treatment when he knows precisely what’s going on. Meanwhile - no limp!

I stood in the garage yesterday, with all doors and windows open, and painted a very big and heavy wrought iron screen which has been lying in the garden since DH took it away from where it hung (precariously) from one big hinge and made rusty marks on the wall. That was 4 years ago. It had been a ‘door’ in the garden wall, which was not maintained, didn’t move, and so we had it replaced with a wooden one. Finally I located some anti-rust paint, so put a coat on it yesterday. The plan is then to stand it on the ground, safely anchored to a house wall and grow some clematis up it. A vast improvement and nice not having to throw away something that had probably been made at quite a cost by a talented iron worker! I’m desperately trying to stick to the idea of having nothing in my home unless it’s beautiful or useful, as a help towards further down-sizing and tidying. Must try to stick to the plan.

After painting yesterday, I attempted to try out our new single Lilo. Much hilarity as I insisted I would just float without getting very wet. Getting on to a Lilo? Many approaches were tried! Why do they float calmly and then spring into action and try to escape the moment an arm or leg goes on board? And why, I asked my DH, do they try to sink like a Sub’ as soon as you sit down carefully - or throw you off like a badly-behaved pony, no matter how you sneak up on them? Never found the answer but had fun trying. I was very wet prior to my attempts to just float - and that’s all I can say. The dogs gave me many quizzical looks - just as well they’re not interested in water.

DH is off scootering to the village for fresh vegetables. I fancy some apricots to bake in the oven and eat cold with Greek yoghurt and we need some large farm eggs as I shall be baking for some friends next week.

I’m off indoors to shower and dress. Then I’ll need to quench the thirst of every green and living thing in the garden before the day really gets under way.

I said I’d let you know if there were any bargains in the swanky charity shop yesterday. The place was going like a fair all day. I sold a Furla handbag for £35 and a Louis Vuitton bag for £50. Clothes, bags, and shoes were flying off the rails as well as bric a brac, books and vinyl records. I was exhausted by the end of the day.

Today will be ironing and laundry, ho hum.

Yesterday popped into poundstretcher - they had pink flamingo candles for sale GrandMattie.
My house is way too untidy for letting out for any money. DH is comfortable with it, I am not. We have an annex which I wanted to rent out with Air bnb, DH wouldn’t help, so I gave up.
The previous owners of the house apparently had made it self contained or her brother. But judging by the post we received her brother had all sorts of foreign names!!
Today just baking and nothingness on the cards

Good morning everyone from a grey Northampton, a few showers forecast this morning. Glad I cut the back grass yesterday. I will probably go out and trim the edges this afternoon if it's dry.

Other than that it will be a quiet day at home, reading the newspapers and doing the puzzles. And trying on the new trousers that arrived from Sainsbury's yesterday. Also I must book a Sainsbury's slot for two week's time when I am back from holiday.

Enjoy the TDF Mick and the Chinese take away. The last time Royal Birkdale was staged here grandMattie a friend rented out her house for a vast sum. The occupants had slept in the beds and used some wine glasses; apart from that there was no evidence of them. She hasn’t convinced me, though - I feel the same way as many of you.

Sainsbury's delivery arrived at 10pm last night, I am usually on my way to bed at that time but it was the only slot I could get.
Sister will visit this afternoon with freshly baked pies and meat from her butchers.
Family are off on holiday to spend time with the other GPS, at the other end of the country.

Golden anniversary today. How did that happen so quickly. ?.
DS1 is hosting a family gathering. Bar b q ! And of course the forecast is for rain. Never mind we will have a jolly time and the Dg will have a laugh at our wedding photos.

Eldest GD sent me a copy of her report from Uni for her first year. She’s been on a placement at a school for autistic children. Her degree is in Mental Health Nursing. She’s a shining example to us all! Another proud Nanna here!

Scentia you will have a special bond with your GC , spending valuable time with them .

GranMattie - we used to rent out our cottage by the sea, before DH retired. It was always ok but I really didn't like the thought of strangers in my home. Did anyone see the holiday house for rent in the paper this week? In Suffolk , not far from us. Three bedroom £107,000 PER WEEK. They need to be named and shamed.

Well I must start to make strides to look glam for our celebrations. It might take a while ?

Good morning all from a cloudy S Hants, rain is expected. Brook have a lovely holiday, I imagine stunning scenery. GM would happily rent our house out, we used to do it when we disappeared to France for 6/8 months of the year. Ash enjoy the ballet. Nannytopsy pretty hostas in your new bed.
We have a family lunch in my sister’s garden, hope she has a gazebo as we will be 8, It’ll be good to see my brother again, we’ve always got on well. I wanted to do some weeding in our garden later, but I think the weather will preclude that.

Meeting a friend this morning for a walk. I think it might be muddy after overnight rain.
I tamed some of the shrubs yesterday and cut back the Laurel from next door that was more than a foot over the fence.

Good mornin g all it is cool and damp in our part of the S Welsh coast. It is nice to be home after a hectic few days. Thoroughly enjoyed our Uber boat trip on the Thames, it was fun passing under all the bridges and seeing all the landmark buildings, the Tower of London looks dwarfed by all the buildings surrounding it. A police boat passed at speed and there was a barge pulling containers, a reminder that the Thames is still a working river.
Our DS and family looked after our little dog, apparently he behaved well and went on the school run with the five year old each morning.
A gentle day today, maybe a walk if it dries up and will find something in the freezer for supper.
That is an eye watering sum grandMattie.

Good morning all. As Espee says it's muggy here in Glasgow, it's 15 C.

DD has a hair appointment at my hairdresser and is leaving SIL here to help DH move our wrought iron garden furniture back into place. It's outwith my remit! Only joking, lifting anything heavy is forbidden and I perform better in the role of supervisor! ?

Espee we lack a local market here. I'm curious to know which market, you are visiting. I used to frequent Govan Market many years ago and came back with many a bargain!

Good morning Mick and all from an overcast Isle of Anglesey. The skies were moody and stormy looking last evening but nothing came of it. Had a stroll with Orlin on our deserted beach. Not a teensy bit of litter after a busy week of holidaymakers who obviously have appreciated their surroundings. The press wouldn’t like it.
Hope you enjoy the ballet Ash, it’s my favourite entertainment. I usually go alone so that I can be totally absorbed.
