Hotel wardrobes and height of rails

Mattsmum2 My experience is that they are all installed for the average 5'4" woman/5'9" man.

I'm 6'1" and am proud of my height. Yes, I'm a giant tall but I have a problem with mirrors and showers too. Way too low. Crouching to look straight into a mirror or washing my hair under a low shower with fixed head, is quite painful after a while. Why are size 8 and 9's on the bottom shelf in stores and why oh why are there many more stores that have a petite range but no tall range.

I have to agree about the hangers though?

Pre covid I used to have to ask people to reach up for things for me.

I feel your pain, having just used the GC plastic children’s stool to reach the top shelf of my wardrobe. 5’ 1” or maybe just 5’ now and it is always awkward in supermarkets.

I use one of those plastic steps that are to help small children use the toilet. I carry it from room to room. I also have a child’s wooden chair that I stand on to clean the car etc. Got it off free cycle and don’t know how I managed without it. Unfortunately, when I’m away from home I can’t take them with me. And I always get tall people standing/sitting in front of me at concerts, in theatres etc.

I spent 8 years more or less living in hotels in different parts of the world, on business travel. I’m only 5ft 2ins and I can’t say I noticed a problem. Maybe I was just used to it

I don't stay in hotels often so not noticed this but the top shelf in supermarkets and higher racks in clothes shops tend to be too high for me and I am 5ft 3", so not particularly short.

Yes I have the same issues with wardrobes/showers etc being 5foot and 1/2 inch tall or should that be short ?
I detest those type of hangers that aren’t detachable in hotel rooms. Something I always do when staying anywhere is to take some of my own hangers. I always take a couple of the type you hang trousers /skirts on. Then I came across some plastic travel hangers in the Poundshop. They come in sets of 3 and I take 2 sets as I always take far too many clothes ??

Yes the same. I’ve just moved out if a rented house also where the wardrobe and bathroom mirrors were designed for Amazonian people! All I could do was use a small freestanding mirror. I’m 5 ft 1

Yes - and the same problem with showers. When we had our own fitted the plumber was very tall and I had to keep reminding him that I'm not! I hate showers in hotels as they are usually way out of my reach. Sadly, I seam to be shrinking!
