If anyone thought that bending the knee was not appropriate the outrageous language, hate and ignorance shown on social media to the young men puts that thought completely to bed.

I think that song 3 Lions is bad luck. We havent won anything since people have started singing it. Perhaps if we we stop singing "its coming home" one day it will . Well done England for getting as far as they did.

We didn't do anything for the 30 years from 66 to 96 when the song was written so the song can't be blamed.

They played their very best and we are proud of them. Everyone of them tickinbird (what a horrible post!).
None of them have anything to be ashamed of at all. They are a young team with a brilliant manager and we will see more of them.

I’d never normally apportion blame on penalty takers but Rashford is a bloody idiot. What on earth was he doing? At the end of the day they get paid obscene amounts of money and instead of showboating he should have just belted the ball.

Can’t believe anyone could think of having a go at any of the players. Hardly sporting is it ? It was a great shame they had to lose in such a cruel way, but of course would have been just as cruel for either team.

I very much dought you have more knowledge than me, as my son also played football, I was treasurer and my ex husband was chairman of the team he played for.
I also went all over the country with my son supporting our league team.
Marcus Rashford was not show boating and was visibly upset when he missed the penalty. Your post was spiteful and unnecessary.

I’m entitled to my opinion and don’t need to listen to you. He was showboating and what makes you think you’re the expert in football? Two of my sons played football and the eldest was semi professional when he was younger. I’ve travelled all over with them to football matches so I’m probably far more qualified than you!

I'm disappointed that we didn't win, I really thought that we could/would.
I'm not a huge football fan, but had got into this one.
Felt sorry it went to penalties, especially for the very youngest player, Saka,(?)
