Won't keep you long as you all must still be in a state of shock!
What a lot of fuss over , how many?, 3 missed penalties!
TN News today showed pictures from Rome showing how Italians can really put on a party, with a fully loaded double-decker bus cruising about; just like I remember in Manchester!
The Italian community here are still going it too!
Then followed interviews with English officials deploring apparent racist comments on social media aimed at the perpetrators; no mention of lasers! hmm
Glum news here too, particularly from New South Wales/Sydney with steady daily increases of new cases and various experts talking of lockdowns lasting until September!. All designed to boost the Covid vaccine take-up rate, I suppose! hmm.
Weather slightly better, today, apart from a vigorous chilly Westerly, but come Saturday the forecast is for windier, colder, wetter weather; If so, I'll be staying under my Doona counting my blessings! grin
Good Health wine wine wine

Hi Rufus2 - lovely day here. Hot and sunny so all my washing is out on the airer drying.
I’ve just started reading a really good Australian novel by a chap called Chris Hammer. It’s called Scrublands. I’m only four chapters in but I’m really enjoying it !
I love Australian authors like Jane Harper as well.
In fact you antipodeans seem to write the best fiction and produce the best actors - thinking of Russell Crowe here ?

Take care of yourself and be happy !
Disappointed but not devastated at the footy result - our lads did their best and that’s all anyone can ever do.

Hi Rufus, disappointed with the football, Southgate, for the first time, didn’t get it right, but we got there and the team did brilliantly. World Cup next year.
It’s cloudy/sunny here, we had torrential rain yesterday thunderbolts and lightning too, mini ‘heatwave’ forecast for the weekend, about 26c, that’ll do. Look like we’re opening up next Monday, being told to use our common sense, trouble is there’s some without any!
Our local will stop table service, but no resumption of stools at the bar, masks optional.
Take care ?

Hi Rufus
The football result was dissapoin ting, but I am very proud of our England footballers.
It's been a nice day here also. Just got in from work, so have to get some things done.
Sleep well.

It was a practice run for next year, Rufus!
Our Australian-Italian friends are happy, though.

He is Antipodean but he's a New Zealander Infinity
I'm thinking of Sam Neill too ?

Have you read any of Patricia Shaw's books? Historical not modern day.
I downloaded Scrublands but haven't started it yet and have read all Jane Harper's books too.

At least if I can't get there I can imagine I'm there ?

Hi Rufus* Have you read books by Joanna Nell, all very relevant to GN! And great fun. I believe Joanna lives in Sydney but not heard lately.
Cheers. ????????

Callistemon - the shame ! Getting my kiwis and Aussies confused !!! Blame it on my age, blame it on anyone but don’t blame me ?
Sam Neill is lovely. I remember him in Reilly Ace of Spies !
Thanks for the heads up on Patricia Shaw, I’ll check that out !

No shame at all, Infinity!
Antipodes covers both but actually it's not geographically correct anyway!
And Russell has made Australia his home.

Check out Liane Moriarty as well, if you haven't read any of her books.

Thanks, I’ll put her on my new list ?
