Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking like the start of a hot warm summers day here in Brackley this morning.
Today , will see the usual bus trip to Bicester for my coffee stop ,and a small shop , before returning home to watch the final stage in the Pyrenees on the Tour De France .
Although its a cycle race the organisers, try to cover the regions they visit from helicopter shots of local places of interest , so to promote the country tourism wise , plus race has seen an increase of art created by farmers and locals also visible from the air, unsure whether there is a competition for those displays , they do similar in UK with tours of Britain, and Yorkshire .
Take Care,
Mick

A sunny hello from Great Bookham, Surrey. It is scorching hot already so no big plans today apart from relaxing in the shade in the garden. I am meeting a friend for a walk in the woods with her dog when it cools down a bit and then I'm off to Waitrose for shopping and then back to water the garden at 10 pm. I'm tending to do things I need to in the evenings during this hot spell.

Late dropping back in and it's nearly bedtime. Sorry I missed your bits ginny. Belated birthday wishes.?
? Thanks everyone. I’ve had a lovely day. Lunch was delicious and the weather beautiful.
Lots of messages and calls.
Hope you’re still reading. Happy birthday ginny. Your bits has me foxed.
Happy birthday ginny??and happy anniversary to the topsy’s??
Oh crumbs ginny hope your Birthday is in full swing, enjoy your special day ???. I too missed your post, sorry.
Sorry ginny, it was only when I read Grandmafrench's post, I( then had to go back to you own post, & your "bits"), that I realised that the rest of us had missed your special day!
So, ginny, I wish you many happy returns & hope you've had? are having a lovely day,
x
Grandmafrench Thank you for the birthday greeting.
Of course it was the fault of my keyboard . Although the fact that I didn’t notice is a bit worrying. ? Lunch was delicious with a harbour view thrown in.
To Nannytopsy,Nannagarra, Grandmafrench,
Thanks for your lovely comments and welcome.
I'll try and pm with pattern details ,Nannagarra.
Hope you're all having a good day.{Flamingo}
Marydoll hope you are feeling better, everyone is missing your novellas. I saw on FB that your hairdresser is closed due to Covid. I see it is still rife in your area and getting worse here in Ashford. Don’t know what Boris is thinking by relaxing restrictions on Monday. I think a lot of people will stick to masks and social distance. Our surgery texted us saying nothing was changing there.
DH is back at work so back in our routine. I was at my hairdresser last week( Hair Academy - the training school) and my girl called in sick just after I sat down. Rebooked for this week - was having a perm - but it was obvious when she started putting rollers in my hair that she was unwell. She is 20wks pregnant. I’ve rebooked for Monday - third time lucky! As staff is limited and she needed a perm for her portfolio, no one else could step in.
Hope all have a good day!
My small village in Oxfordshire feels warm and sunny this morning. OH and I are going out for a pub lunch and then we may have a walk around the gardens at Buscot House. On the way home we need to buy some batteries for the cat flap otherwise we can’t keep out other cats. Tonight I am having a zoom call with a bunch of friends.
Spot on Grandmafrench, this time lesson learned.
Good wishes to Marydoll, hope you’re back soon.
Yes grandmafrench. Ordered on line in the end. Nothing within easy travelling distance.
?hope to hear from all missing posters soon. ?
Wishing the topsy’s a Happy Anniversary. ?
I love your gift idea Nannytopsy?
Good morning Mick and friends from a brightening northwest Lancashire coast. Quiet day today after family here yesterday. Lucky with the weather as able to be in the garden. My GD was off colour with hay fever and generally run down, so felt for her, she wasn’t her usual bubbly self. She goes to university in September so big changes there.
DD cooked and I washed up as dishwasher kaput, but new one arriving on Wednesday. ‘Twas a lovely day.
Congratulations Nannytopsy
Missing Cherry, EV, Marydoll and Urmston ?
Good morning all,
Greyduster has given you our weather forecast for South Yorkshire - cloudy and breezy. The sun keeps trying to break break through but so far unsuccessfully. It's not cold though. In fact last night became uncomfortably warm, making sleep tricky.
Hairdresser later this morning, then possibly cutting the grass if it doesn't become too hot - I never managed it yesterday, but did pot up 2 plants instead.
I hope Marydoll feels better today and is soon back posting. Best wishes to any of our posters who are taking a break, hope you will be back soon.
Happy anniversary Nannytopsy.
Lovely photos posted today ?.
Good Morning everyone. Glorious skies and garden smells here in the South today ??. The perfume from the plants will turn into barbecued meat ‘perfume’ around noon, as everyone decides not to use their kitchen for cooking in these temperatures. My dogs’ noses are on permanent woffle mode! ?
A very Happy Birthday if ‘bits’ typed by your crazy keyboard means you are out for a special lunch, ginny. Glad you are safely back from a good holiday, Grammaretto. Happy Packing to all off on their travels. Enjoy every moment, lucky peeps - you’ve earned it.
What talent, gardener - and if you’re new to this thread, welcome and keep posting (please).
NannaG, yes that’s Stipa ( Mexican Feather). Probably best in pots. Very pretty but needs a firm hand in a border, I should think!
Lovely photos on here today. Happy Anniversary, NannyT. Very sensible of you to get yourself checked out, still. Good news, but maybe honestly assess whether you might have been overdoing things recently? Speaking of which…..feel better soon, Mary, and let your family take the strain for a while.
Pleased that sunbeams are arriving for so many peeps. Soak up the Vit., D and drop those shoulders and r.e.l.a.x. Time outside now, to enjoy and admire all that gardening work.
Putting up a massive trellis later. Well, something to use as a trellis. I am constantly fussing over my 2 new Clematis for this and they are now covered in buds and flowers. I’ve teamed Nelly Moser with a similar but purple version - Tie Dye -because the clash of colours will show best in the bright light down here! I shall post a pic later in the season in the hope that it’s all a success. Hope your search for one has now been successful, muse.
Have a good day, all. Keep safe and enjoy yourselves whatever you’re doing. Warm thoughts to all and love and hugs to those struggling.

Happy Anniversary Nannytopsy.
Sorry to hear about your hospital visit Stillearning that is never nice but good you were given the all clear - I know how that feels!!
Good Morning from Cambs., it's overcast now, but very warm, sunshine due soon!!
Thank you Grandmabatty for letting us know about Marydoll, do pass on our good wishes. (& if you are reading, Marydoll, we hope you soon feel better,
).
Congratulations on your wedding anniversary Nannytopsy,
.
Mick, near us, (out in the fens) we have a "Maize maze", at a garden centre, open until end of August. This year it covers about 12 acres, depicting Captain Sir Tom Moore, with his walker! Captain Tom's daughter & grandchildren came last week to have a look, (& give publicity I expect)!
Warm wishes to you all, especially those with added worries.
Good morning, Mick and all from a finally sunny Carlisle. All prepared with my factor 50 on already.
I've done the ironing but that's probably it in the housework department. I think the lawns will need watering at some point, what a boring job it is!
Yesterday afternoon I went to the garden centre for my free coffee and cake and found I was entitled to 2 coffees and cakes. I couldn't manage 2 of the former but the second cake was wrapped for me to take home. I bought one plant, a purple leaved elder. I had one in my last garden and loved it. It has beautiful panicles of pink flowers which this new one is just developing. I'm keenly waiting on the nurseries to get their autumn stock in as there's a lot I need to stock the new garden. I'm not going to be relying on the rather over-priced garden centre.
Best wishes to Marydoll and to all our missing posters.
And the best possible day to all.
Happy Anniversary Nannytopsy Enjoy your day?
