Shouldn't be moaning as its Summer but even in shade i can't tolerate it...used to be a sun worshipper in the 70s now i hide in cool house☀️

Played golf yesterday and felt very ill so a nice cool day indoors today. May spend part of the night in the garden.

MissAdventure Sat 17-Jul-21 22:43:17

I find it despicable.
Like a horrible fire breathing creature.

muffinthemoo

Humid and despicable.

Despicable ??? strange way to describe weather!

It’s not humid here in god’s own county, it’s a dry heat.

I’m a bit tired though having played a 36 game tennis match this morning !

Infinity2 Sat 17-Jul-21 22:12:24

Blossoming - thank you. I’ve got my feet up and have been drinking plenty of water. I had to take my mother’s wedding ring off which I wear on my right hand as my fingers are swollen now.
I think I’m going to end up looking like the Marshmallow man thing at the end of Ghostbusters.

It’s impossible to find weather that will please everybody. I do like it warm, because I love sitting outside in the morning and the evening, which is only possible then. I noticed today it was what I would class as Australia hot, because the washing felt stiff when when I brought it in, which is a sign of it having dried very quickly.

Whatdayisit Sat 17-Jul-21 22:09:37

I have never sunbathed or enjoyed the Summer. So sorry if my moaning about the heat annoys anyone.
We have had a rough few weeks then yesterday OH woke up with possible covid symptoms then got a call to say someone he had seen in the week had tested positive. So he had a test and now we are both isolating. I should have been at work. Fingers crossed it's negative apart from anything the loss of earnings is ridiculous.
We have sat indoors in front of a fan all day reading and cuddling.
Think we needed a bit of nothingness and alone time.

Moaning threads are a good idea.

Unfortunately there will always be someone coming along to tell us how lucky we are and to stop whingeing.

MissAdventure Sat 17-Jul-21 21:45:46

Me too.
We had a moaning thread last year, I think it was, so we could whinge without annoying people.

Commiserations to those who don’t like the heat.
I love it, I’m lucky enough to live on the coast so nice sea breeze. A garden full of trees so lots of shady areas, a solid stone house which stays lovely and cool. Breakfast in the sunshine on the patio, lunch under a tree in the garden, evening meal in sunny courtyard.
Feeling very fortunate.

I am absolutely miserable in this weather. Autumn can't come soon enough

Lewie Sat 17-Jul-21 21:29:12

Absolutely loving it! And long may it continue! Worked in the garden most of the afternoon and collapsed on my sun lounger at 4pm (in the shade) with a large glass of Pimms. Heaven! grin

ginny Sat 17-Jul-21 21:26:49

I love it.
I understand that it makes life difficult for some but I find life in the cold and damp difficult and we get far more of that.

muffinthemoo Sat 17-Jul-21 21:21:52

Humid and despicable.

Pittcity Sat 17-Jul-21 21:18:22

It's not been too bad here in East Anglia. Hot in the sun, but a nice breeze in the shade.
The weather map is topsy turvy at the mo!

Callistemon Sat 17-Jul-21 20:30:25

We have a 2.5 tog one (part of a summer/winter duvet set) and it was on/off on/off all last night.
It's been hotter today.

We are just not used to it, no sooner do we become more accustomed it goes down to 17C and wet again.

Kali2 Sat 17-Jul-21 20:24:11

had t go and buy a summer 4.5 duvet yesterday and that was too hot!

Allsorts Sat 17-Jul-21 20:21:51

Much to hot, can’t sleep. ?

Callistemon Sat 17-Jul-21 20:15:59

SueDonim

It’s been 29deg here in NE Scotland, almost unheard of! I’m not a sunworshipper so I’m amazed at myself for not having complained about being too hot. Yet. grin

There have been local reports of dogs getting their paws burnt by being walked on overheated pavements - poor things. sad They’re saying to just walk dogs early morning and late evening because no dog ever died of not having a walk in the sun but plenty have died of overheating. ?

Yes, a very good point, *SueDonim:

(Not my grammar btw but a good message)

I absolutely hate the heat.
It's like being boiled alive!

Me too. It’s like a nightmare.

ayse Sat 17-Jul-21 20:05:39

I love it like this. A rare occurrence in the NE. Long May it last but it’ll be back down to 21 or 22 tomorrow.?

cornergran Sat 17-Jul-21 20:00:35

Although heat tolerance is much lower than it used to be I still love hot weather and am fortunate to be able to retreat to the beach with the sea breeze. Our bungalow stays quite cool, guess we’re fortunate here.

MissAdventure Sat 17-Jul-21 19:58:18

Kim19 Sat 17-Jul-21 19:55:22

Think we're definitely a deserving case and I hope it stays for ages. Love it and the freedom to wear next to nothing is an added bonus.

Jaxjacky Sat 17-Jul-21 19:52:08

Windows open, blinds closed all day. Sitting outside with my book and a cold glass of wine, best time of the day.
