Shouldn't be moaning as its Summer but even in shade i can't tolerate it...used to be a sun worshipper in the 70s now i hide in cool house☀️

Went and sat outdoors on the patio at 2.10 a.m. in my nightie with the cat purring at my feet. It was lovely and cool but inside, despite every window being open the sweat was running rivers.

I love the crisp comment...just added a crunched up bag of ready salted to my cauliflower cheese lunch...yummy?

I’m an autumn person myself. For a start it’s a scientific fact that big coats hide your fat. I’m sure that doctor the one who’s never off the telly - I’m thinking Michael Molehill (?) did a series on it.

Autumn - All that gloom, darkening days, rotting leaves in the gutter, the sound of people screaming as the kids shove bangers through their letterbox. Ah - such a lot to look forward to.

Hate the Summer and this oppressive heat.Give me the Autumn any day.

Oh that sounds so tasty !!
Wish I had some.
I was reading and thought I had another big floater in my eye but it was a speck of melted chocolate that must have pinged off my Kit Kat and stuck to my glasses. That’s a relief.

MissAdventure Mon 19-Jul-21 23:22:03

Oh I love cashews!
Salted, unsalted.
I love 'em all.

Chewbacca Mon 19-Jul-21 23:15:23

I've only got salt and vinegar flavour crisps left and I hate those (they sting when you eat them). Got some non salted cashews; will they do?

Callistemon Mon 19-Jul-21 22:55:56

I'm usually crispless but it just so happens I ordered a large bag which arrived with the groceries last week!

Now, where did I put it?

Salty crisps for supper and a banana for pudding, sodium magnesium and other vitamins and minerals all sorted!
?

MissAdventure Mon 19-Jul-21 22:31:26

Lovely jubbly!
It's so important to keep up my sodium intake.
Cup of coffee to wash it down.

Infinity2 Mon 19-Jul-21 22:29:37

There’s supper sorted ?

lemongrove Mon 19-Jul-21 22:18:47

2 packs minimum ( there’s hardly anything in them!) or you could make up the shortfall with a large pack of dry roasted peanuts.

MissAdventure Mon 19-Jul-21 22:16:15

Thanks for that handy tip.
I'm crispless at the moment.
Do you think a packet of cheddars would do the same, or should I eat 2, just to be on the safe side?

It’s so hot now, 29 with the fan on and curtains closed, I feel like I’m being poached.
Have been forced to eat two packets of cheese and onion crisps as I know it’s important to keep your salt intake up ?

Quite right, crisp eating is compulsory when the temp goes up so high, it would be dangerous not to.?

Agreed 'Who wants to cook/ bake / do any housework when it’s so hot.'

so just don't do it- easy peasy (lol just realised ... lemon squeezy)

Not so easy peasy if you have guests staying with you.

muffinthemoo Mon 19-Jul-21 21:42:34

I am 100% over this. Never could tolerate heat and my little ones tolerate it even worse, I think. I hugged my eldest this afternoon and wow, she did not smell like roses and violets. She tried complaining that she was only showered last night but back into the shower she was herded

Infinity2 Mon 19-Jul-21 21:36:28

Didn’t the sheets get wet ? ( Seriously )

Lillie Mon 19-Jul-21 21:33:20

i tied ice packs round my wrists to sleep last night

I’m too fat to get into any of mine.
I’ve got plenty of winter fleeces that fit though.

Don't moan about the heat, we get little enough of it in Britain. People are falling over themselves to go to a warmer climate for their holidays, we have had 3 warm days and people are moaning.

Correction...hot ( boiling hot here) not warm.
I like warm, warm is fine and dandy.

lemongrove Mon 19-Jul-21 21:19:42

Oh it’s fine when in Spain and there is air con....we don’t have it here!
I really hate it I must say and can’t wait for it to cool down at the end of this week. Who wants to cook/ bake / do any housework when it’s so hot.Took a book to read and a cold drink to a shady part of the garden and it was still boiling hot, ten mins and I went in again,

baggiebird Mon 19-Jul-21 21:12:48

Well I am in Spain been here for 6 weeks with another 4 weeks to go.Every day is sunny no rain at this time of year and you just adjust to it and use the air con at night. Its lovely to have a real summer and to wear shorts and vest tops every day such freedom . I appreciate the lovely weather and dread having to return to uk in 4 weeks.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 19-Jul-21 20:49:00

Just come in from eating dinner outside, sorry for those who do not like the heat, but it’s the closest thing we can have to a Mediterranean Evening, Vino Blanco, Gambas et Patatas Bravo.
