Going clubbing!

I'm ready. My 2nd jabber said I was ok to go clubbing, so with our local nightclub doing a special Freedom Day opening, I'm off.
As the last time I went was in the 70's I've had to dig deep to channel my inner boogie wonderland.
Replaced the platforms with some wide fitting Pavers, but glad I got my varicose veins done before lockdown.
Think I can find a low cut vest but may need to borrow GC's felt tips as no tattoos.
Booked my ticket on line and admitted I was over 18.
Starts at 10pm so will set my alarm as usually in bed by then. Hope my hearing aids don't whistle.
Anyone else want to come?

Pull? I'm still pulling my elasticated stockings on.

lemongrove Mon 19-Jul-21 22:00:58

Did any of you pull?

lemongrove Mon 19-Jul-21 21:59:13

Holly.....I’ve just put mine into a G&T

hollysteers Mon 19-Jul-21 20:47:05

Twisting isn’t great for my IBS, but if I can find my old white mini crochet dress, I’m up for it.
(Don’t put your glass down as a GN might put her teeth in it)
I will be bringing my own hips by the way.

It's tonight! Freedom night special. Starts at 10pm chuck out at
3 am
I've left some tickets on the door for latecomers. Password is CRASH MAT.

Santana’s got the date Dottygran59 and Ellianne
She’s bought her ticket already. Should think there’s plenty of time to practice those grooves.

maddyone Mon 19-Jul-21 18:51:54

I’ve dug out my white, vinyl, knee length boots and my favourite mini dress from 1971. It just about covers my bottom. Better put a big pair of bloomers on these days with a mini dress. No one wants an eye full when I bend over these days.

That’s ok Callistemon, especially as you were replying to AGA. (I am very bold, just wait till you see my outfit!). On the sauce already, as I think is de riguer (how do you do italics anyway?) before going clubbing? Getting into the spirit of things as it were. Yes of course we have to go to each other’s and get properly giggly. V3ra I hadn’t factored (haha) in fake tan time, of course that’s a must these days. I must start straight away. Hope it doesn’t cover all those lovely tattoos. Where are my false eyelashes, last seen about 1970???

Remember we will have to spend at least half the day getting ready, as I recall.

And don't forget to allow time for the obligatory fake tan to dry. I don't think they let you in without one these days ?

Dottygran59 Mon 19-Jul-21 17:41:16

Oooh Ellianne I hope we haven't missed it. I'm up for going to someones house with a bottle of Blue Nun or liebraumilch - can only have the one glass though, otherwise it gives me terrible heartburn. And we can all take turns to twirl in front of the mirror and tell each other how gorgeous we look. I wonder if you can still buy fruit flavoured lip gloss in a roll on like deodarant?

Ellianne Mon 19-Jul-21 17:30:37

When is it, by the way?

Ellianne Mon 19-Jul-21 17:29:49

Are we going for a curry after?

AGAA4 Mon 19-Jul-21 17:28:35

Must remember to stick gaviscon and paracetamol in my boob tube.

JaneJudge Mon 19-Jul-21 17:13:57

It sounds like Joris Bohnson is off clubbing himself

Dottygran59 Mon 19-Jul-21 17:12:01

OH NO - just realised, this thread was started yesterday, so I really AM too late - no doubt you will all still be in bed nursing your horlicks induced hangovers...............another time, Grans..........I will join you another time

Callistemon Mon 19-Jul-21 17:11:18

We all have to go round to each others to get ready, drinking wine, putting on our false eyelashes, giggling a lot and getting in the mood.

I hope some of you have big kingsize beds so we can have a Nana Nap before we hit the clubs.

Callistemon Mon 19-Jul-21 17:07:35

Sorry Germanshepherdsmum you're not supposed to be in italics, you are supposed to be bold!

No-one wears italics these days, they're very passé*

Dottygran59 Mon 19-Jul-21 17:00:47

OMG just stumbled across this thread - HILARIOUS!!!! lol several times. I'd love to come but it's nearly 5 o clock already, not nearly enough time to carmen roller the hair, neck a bottle of wine while applying slap and look for something sparkly and suitable to wear. My DGC are not quite old enough for discos so can't borrow an outfit - well my 10 year old might lend me her frayed denim shorts, 40 denier tights and red converse trainers - she's as tall as me....there you go, sorted. Oh no, she's 4 stone lighter than me...................can you let me know next time you go please? I promise I'll watch out for the thread and give myself much more time to spruce up the blue rinse and look for my wonderbra

AGAA4

And very often legless Callistemon

That's not fair, Germanshepherdsmum, poor man has an injury sustained in the Napoleonic Wars, he's doing very well considering.

He only fell over twice in the Hokey Cokey.

There's a door lady called Emma who is a firefighter so could give you a lift if you don't fancy a piggy back with James.
I'm off for a nap now, so I'm ready for tonight.
We will all meet up her in the morning to talk about our night out. Not too early, unless you need bail or a lift from A&E.

Callistemon

Yes, I can handle troops, I took charge of the Admiral.

Yes, I can confirm that Callistemon can handle a naval type, I have seen her in action at The Argy.

It's because I'm nice.

All together now:
All the nice girls love a sailor
All the nice girls love a tar

I must say The Admiral takes a bit of handling, though, he's so free and easy.

Callistemon Mon 19-Jul-21 16:29:55

Michael12

Three floor levels with different music including a disco on one floor lever mainly basement for that .

Mick

The Place in Hanley

That's where I know you from, Mick!
Thought I recognised you. I promise to keep quiet about those days if you buy me a brandy and Babycham.

(And no - that wasn't me, it was my friend Muriel!)

lemongrove Mon 19-Jul-21 16:14:54

That’s the spirit Kate ??
