Going clubbing!

I'm ready. My 2nd jabber said I was ok to go clubbing, so with our local nightclub doing a special Freedom Day opening, I'm off.
As the last time I went was in the 70's I've had to dig deep to channel my inner boogie wonderland.
Replaced the platforms with some wide fitting Pavers, but glad I got my varicose veins done before lockdown.
Think I can find a low cut vest but may need to borrow GC's felt tips as no tattoos.
Booked my ticket on line and admitted I was over 18.
Starts at 10pm so will set my alarm as usually in bed by then. Hope my hearing aids don't whistle.
Anyone else want to come?

I’m even more excited now after researching the venue!

Dancing round our shopping trollies is the new disco thing!

We’re gonna need a bigger room!

Won’t the handbags be a bit big for dancing round though? I need one that’ll fit my phone, cards, purse, perfume, lippy, mask, sanitiser, reading glasses, distance glasses, umbrella, tissues, medication, slippers for later on, Werther’s Originals, cardi and rain hat. And a Bag for Life in case I pop into Tesco’s on the way home. And some of you might need your Tenas (not me, of course wink).

disorientated....see, it’s started already ?

DiscoDancer1975 Mon 19-Jul-21 08:07:35

Have we still got to dance round our hand bags? Might get a bit disoriented now with that one!

???. I so love this thread. Mumsnet has a classics thread where the best threads are preserved for posterity. Does Gransnet have the same?
If so may I nominate Santana’s thread for the Hall of Fame GNHQ?

Can we put in requests to the DJ for a Zimmer dance, or even a Morris dance jig with walking sticks?

Grannynannywanny Mon 19-Jul-21 07:45:42

Maybe we could club together for late night transport as it might be too late to use our bus passes. We could hire a coach with a hydraulic lift. Preferably one with a boogie bar so we can have a cup of tea on the way there and horlicks on the way home.

Ok, right, I've spoken to James, the doorman ( we met at the vaccination centre, on the crash mat. He has a needle phobia, mine is masks) he has agreed to give a piggy back up the steps to anyone who needs it. Can't help on exit as everyone falls down the steps.
We will have to use bottom sliding method.

Ellianne Mon 19-Jul-21 07:24:50

So funny! Can I come please?
If I take my hearing aids out there'll be no problem with all that loud thumpy music. Might take some throat strepsils too for all that shouting at the person sitting right next to me.

Callistemon

I might have to borrow from one of my grandchildren, they're the ones with more pocket money than me these days.

I went to borrow some money from my son's money box years ago.
All that was in it was the IOU I'd put there the week before ?

kittylester Mon 19-Jul-21 07:05:02

This is brilliant!!

BigBertha1 Mon 19-Jul-21 06:40:43

I'll bring my step stool so I can get up on the bar for an exhibition bookie but I'll need help getting down again.

It's way past my bedtime and I need my beauty sleep although it's not working for some reason.
