I hope he feels better soon. We had to have PCR tests ourselves too Rosycheeks (which were negative) and the NHS advised us to isolate longer on top confused so do check if you need to test yourself

Oh yes JaneJudge im sure he has it and just got a text from my DS to say my nephew has it too. I just hope they have got the test really.

It depends how many are going through. We had one that took 5 days, but most come back within 3 days. It sounds like he has it though as that is exactly how my son was when he was positive a couple of weeks ago. Makes sure you open all your windows and he rests. My son found an antihistamine helped with the symptoms too

I presume so.
I had to do it twice weekly for work at the height of lockdown.

Rosycheeks Mon 19-Jul-21 15:02:49

MissAdventure. Can you do the PCR test more than once then?

MissAdventure Mon 19-Jul-21 13:47:54

Until recently I did the tests every week and the results were usually back in around 2 to 3 days. (including weekends)
I did always have the tracking number, but I did once post an empty box.

When I went to a testing centre just down the road, just before it closed late one afternoon, my result was with me by both text and email by breakfast time the following morning.

Rosycheeks Mon 19-Jul-21 13:45:14

Oh thanks a lot so maybe tomorrow?

threexnanny Mon 19-Jul-21 12:38:07

Members of my family went to a testing centre on Saturday and were told 48 hours for the result. In fact the result was sent by text and e mail yesterday.

My DH has done the Lat flow test 3 times and has come up positive all 3 Im negative.
So he has sent off for the NHS home testing kit and it came yesterday. I found a priority post box that collects on sundays and posted it so we are waiting for the results. It said on the box take a photo of the tracking no. But in my haste I forgot so we cant track it. Has anyone done this test and how long did it take to get the results? Cant fault Royal Mail delivering on a Sunday to us it is very well run I must say.
It isa bit nerve wracking waiting not knowing if they have got the test.
My DH is at home with cold like symptons he is not too bad at all. He has had his two jabs. He works in constuction and he said quite a few of his workmates are off with covid. He dosent get paid when his off but I have a bit put by so I said I will pay his wages for when he is off so he is not that worried about work. Just wanted to know how long for results really.
