I think they can go back further, if they believe someone has deliberately "got rid" of money or property.

She’ll have HMRC on her back if she does, and also land in a lot of trouble when her finances are assessed at the time she goes into care.
If it was that easy I would imagine everyone would be doing it. ?

I believe so long as she lives over 7 years, it is not calculated as purposefully given away to avoid care home payment. I seem to remember reading that the Queen Mother did this also, like they need to worry!!!

My single friend who lives 100 miles away wants to move back here. She wants to know if she could put her new house in her children's names, but live in it herself. Then if she needed to go in a care home in years to come would the state pay? I don't think this is possible or even ethical personally. Your thoughts ladies please.
