Good Morning Everyone,
Its a clear blue sky at the present time here in brackley , today a quiet day with laundry to do .
Also the start of track cycling at Tokyo , be interesting to see how GB fares on there new bike frames ,as it will be the first time of use in competition
Otherwise ponder about and see how the day involves.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone.
Nothing special on today. Ironing and if the weather allows a bit of garden tidying.
Must get back to eating properly after the last few weeks of ‘holiday’ eating.
Hope all the various appointments people have go well and and thoughts to all those who have worries and problems.
Wishing all a smile along the way.

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
Laundry, cleaning, shopping....not exciting but necessary...and much easier as DH is out for the day.
Cycling is on TV and I'm googling what to make for tea out of the bits and bobs in the fridge. We have mayonnaise which, according to the advert, can make something out of nothing!

Love to all x

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
I now think of flamingos as soon as I open this thread. What have you done to me!
Did anyone hear Michael Morpurgo on flamingos in the Camargue, yesterday?

Not much on the agenda for today and I may have to resort to housework and gardening.
I wish I enjoyed watching the Olympics because there is nothing else on tele.

Beechnut grin in my case it could be Lidl
Have a happy day.

Good Morning everyone from a grey Severnside.
I have overslept this morning. Not that it matters.

I am calling this week my holiday week so I’m planning to go out everyday somewhere. Today it will be a B&M store. I know that’s not thrilling.

Have a good day all and I’ll go back and read all your posts after my breakfast ?

Stormy Suffolk skies

Gingster Mon 02-Aug-21 07:55:48

Good morning all from a cloudy Suffolk coast.
Yesterday was another very mixed bag of weather. The stormy clouds didn’t produce much rain though.
Our neighbour and her ‘gentleman caller’ came for afternoon tea. (We didn’t know she had one) . We were able to sit in the garden in the sun and chat . it quickly became apparent that they were closer than just friends. She will be 80 in December but only looks and acts like a 60 yr old. How lovely! ?.

Sar - how frustrating for you! Take care of yourself and hopefully another appointment can be made quickly. ?

Harrigran - I hope you and dh have a better day.?.

Grandmafrench - I hope your day goes as well as well as it can. Look forward to tomorrow when you can relax in your beautiful paradise. ?.

My GD1 sent some photos of her holiday in Scotland. She’s in Edinburgh at the moment with Uni friends. The weather looks good there.

I hope all who are feeling poorly or down , see a little improvement today ?

Scentia Mon 02-Aug-21 07:55:07

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it looks like a good day ☀️
I am a little late to the party today, I have just been pottering all morning.
I will read your posts later with my coffee, off to work just as soon as this load of washing is done and pegged out.
Have a good day folks❤️

Good morning everyone from our holiday cottage, we’re heading home today to Inverness after our enjoyable weekend break. Yesterday it stayed dry all day and we enjoyed a walk along the Fife coastal path exploring the little fishing villages an taking in the scenery and wildlife.
Thank you for the lovely picture greyduster and enjoy Alnwick, the gardens and castle are beautiful
Love the bike Ash , olddudders I’m sure Ash will get her own back!
Hope you’re feeling better soon Sar and you get a new appointment soon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles today, take care all whatever the day brings ?

Grandmabatty Mon 02-Aug-21 07:31:59

Popping back to say I was very remiss in not thanking those lovely posters who mentioned me in dispatches. It warmed the cockles of a grumpy heart. Thank you all.

Good morning Mick and All.

Sunny but cloudy day here in South Bucks.

Unfortunately I have a recurrence of the diverticulitis I had earlier in the year. I have had all the tests and colonoscopy so don’t have to go through all that hoohah again, just stick to a liquid diet for a few days whilst watching the Olympics clutching a hot water bottle.

What fab photos posted on here this morning. ?

Grandmajean Mon 02-Aug-21 07:28:27

Morning !
Love the pic Ash!
Not the best dayGrandmafrench but you always sound so positive.
Oh, harrigran I know exactly what you mean.
Bitty day today as have agreed to take two youngest GC to holiday clubs as DS and DIL have to work. It involves a drop off at ten am and pick up at three so just as well I don't really have any other plans. ?

Good morning from a sunny East Yorkshire.
Another weekend that flew by! We spent Saturday in Bridlington for a change of scene. We were surprised how quiet the roads were considering and also some parts of Brid itself. The theatre there has a lovely cafe that’s handy for coffee and toilet stop once we’ve parked up. It’s right on the sea front with a top to floor glass window. We were sat in a window seat and the tide was right up to the sea wall. As the tide was lurching in and out it started to make me feel quesy and sea sick! I saw the funny side of it being sat in a cafe and getting sea sick! Anyway it didn’t spoil my appetite as later we had the most tasty fish and chips ... delicious.
Yesterday DH was out in the afternoon and I had a visit from Ds and family for tea and cake. I’d got a Red Velvet cake and dgs said “ I wuv this cake” he was full of beans having won the trophy at his football training.
Today I have jobs to catch up with in the
house as it’s looking like it’s going to be a sociable week looking at the diary.
Good luck with your day Grandmafrench. Love the bike Ash and what a great photo Alazirin.
Have a good day all.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 02-Aug-21 07:26:34

Morning Mick and all

Yep it’s definitely blue sky and sunny Sar53 sorry you are unwell, are you going to get a PCR test just incase ? Hope you can rearrange your hospital appointment.

The Imp was up just after 5am, all is quiet now so I guess DD has got him back to sleep ?

Bed changing and pottering today, no vacuuming as the vacuum has gone caput , so off to Chelmsford John Lewis tomorrow to buy a new one and return a pair of trainers to The White Company. We will take GC with us in my little car, if it’s sunny we shall put the top down which they love.

Beautiful photos this morning, you are clever Grandmattie

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Greyduster Mon 02-Aug-21 07:20:10

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a dry cloudy Northumberland where we are assured it will clear later. Yesterday we had Sunday lunch and then drove up to Lindesfarne. GS was fascinated with the causeway and surprised at how big the island is. Today we are going to Alnwick. Activity has been fairly relentless so far and I feel as if we have been here forever!
Whatever you have planned for your day, have a good one!

Grandmabatty Mon 02-Aug-21 07:17:20

Good morning all. Polmont has beautiful blue skies with some wispy clouds. It's much cooler this morning at 9°. There's condensation on the cars.
Lovely photo Alizarin. Very atmospheric. I'm glad the christening went well Susan. You're having a hard time of it. Sar I hope you feel better soon. Bad luck about the hospital appointment. Grandmafrench a bone scan sounds painful! Do they cut bits off to age you like they do with trees? ?I hope all goes well.
I feel better for my few days away from social media. I was turning into a grumpy old woman and didn't like me very much. A few days in the real world have helped me find a balance. I've made cherry jam and lemon drizzle cake, gardened and sewed a lot of a Halloween cross stitch.
Today is babysitting with the added issue of also collecting my ds from the train station to take him for his second jag. So we will not be gallivanting to the park today but staying closer to grandma's house. I hope you all have a good day and I mean it most sincerely, as Hughie Green used to say.

cornergran Mon 02-Aug-21 07:16:44

harrigran flowers.

cornergran Mon 02-Aug-21 07:15:52

Morning Mick, morning All. A bright start to our corner of Somerset.

Other than an hour with our friend yesterday I didn’t stir. We’re off out today, not sure where yet, feel the need for a drift about.

If I wasn’t a bike serial faller-offer I’d love that one ash. Safe travels today. What a shame sar, hope you can rebook your appointment soon. Good luck grandmafrench, indeed a lot in one day. Love the photo alizarin. Well done Henry susan, hope there can be speedy replacement glasses for your husband. Another sewing triumph grandmattie.

grin olddudders. Safety in distance?

Take care everyone. Hope Monday is kind to us all.

harrigran Mon 02-Aug-21 07:13:31

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Yesterday didn't really happen. DH was not well enough for visitors so I told the family not to come.
I climbed on the sofa and slept after lunch which was a mistake as I slept very badly last night.
My sister says she will ring from Germany today and hear what I have been up to, well that will take two minutes and then she will tell me about the friends she has seen and the restaurants she has visited.
Enjoy your Monday.

Jaxjacky Mon 02-Aug-21 07:11:28

Good morning all from a wet, grey S Hants. I was going to give my car a clean out, I’ll see if the weather improves. I’ve ordered a board game for DD and GC’s, will doorstep drop it when it arrives.
Pretty top gM, best of luck today Grandmafrench and how annoying Sar, get well soon.
I ordered a blouse for a friend, picture is the outer wrapping it came in, matches your bike Ashcombe!
Have a pleasant Monday all, thoughts with those absent.

Good morning first three and all who follow. Ash, you certainly are a wonderful wordsmith and have such a sense of fun. Love it and thank you for sharing your gentle insanity. My day promises gentle activities like a riverside walk but has a pleasant habit of evolving into something unexpectedly exciting. I wish something similar for all of you.

Kindly said - but you don't have to live with her! And, thanks to Covid, I can't either at present! Sigh!

Ashcombe Mon 02-Aug-21 07:02:35

Bless you, Kim19, for your kind comment, which was a delightful surprise!
A well - captured photo, Alizarin, which resembles a painting.

Sar53 Mon 02-Aug-21 06:53:45

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea.
I'm very miffed today as I have a hospital appointment that I will have to cancel as I am unwell. I've only been waiting 8 months for this appointment !!!!!
I have an upper respiratory tract infection, I've had many in the past, which includes a chesty cough, and there is no way I should be visiting a hospital like this.
I hope I can get through on the phone and that I won't have to wait too long for another appointment.
A day indoors for me today.
Have a pleasant Monday everyone xx

monk08 Mon 02-Aug-21 06:48:00

Good morning from a brighter Black country.
Ash that's the sort of bike my DiL would ride it's her to a T.
Grandamafrench hope all your medical procedures go well,I to have a dental appointment but mine is just a check up. Followed by fetching the Dgc to spend the rest of day with us, their child minder is on holiday.
Thoughts with missing virtual friends ?enjoy your day and may you all find some ?

Alizarin Mon 02-Aug-21 06:39:28

Good morning from a bright south Cornwall. Lovely breeze wafting through my window and across my bed. No idea what I'll do today, maybe a bus to Porthleven or some beachcombing here. Photo is my smallest grandchildren in a cave at Mawgan Porth near Newquay yesterday. Have the best day you can.
