Thinking of purchasing a G Tech vacuum as I believe they are quite good and light to run around with. Anyone got anything to say about them please before I buy. Thank you.

Happy new Gtech Berylsgranny!

The hand held one is great for stairs and the car. I hated our Dyson because it was so heavy.

Received my new G Tech along with smaller handheld. Love it, love it, love it. Thanks again all.

If anyone does buy one just watch out for the car cleaning accessories that are inside the plastic bag it’s delivered in but not in the cardboard box that the main vacuum parts are. Because they’re in a black bag I didn’t notice them and nearly threw them away with the packaging.

Love my G Tech cordless upright and separate handheld one. Receiving these as christmas pressie from my children in 2018. Following my own research and request for these.
So delighted with them, seems to be the vacuum cleaner I have been looking for - light and easy to use, so easy to empty, collapsible handle on upright makes it easy tostore in a small (eg: understairs) cupboard.

Re charges quickly and easily. Used it in my house prior to moving to this flat, on both carpets and hardfloors. Works well on both and the small handheld one, for stairs and also so easy to take down to do my car.

I have absolutely nothing to criticise with this cleaner. Hated the heavy dysons (almost as much as I detest their inventer)!!!

I didn’t really need another vacuum, having got quite a collection of them, but I’m loving the hand held one. Thus far I’ve cleaned the cobwebs off the lampshades, vacuumed up all the fish scales off my dogs fish skin treat that she spreads all over the living room. I just love going round the house zapping things: I feel like I’m in a Star Wars film…..

My uncle had one and tbh I wasn’t very impressed with it. I have now inherited it so will try again. I also inherited a Gtech mower which I am impressed with. I have a corded Shark vacuum and I love it. Dyson on cordless are also good.

I haven’t been in my attic for a while. I bet it’s daddy long legs heaven up there!

Callistemon Fri 06-Aug-21 16:00:58

We could do a house swap - you can come and declutter my cupboards and I'll tidy your house!

Ps the attic is full as well ?

MayBee70 Fri 06-Aug-21 12:33:12

Now, I’m the opposite. The house itself looks as though it’s been ransacked but I keep drawers and cupboards obsessively neat and tidy. I’ve always been the same. I’ll spend days putting cd’s into alphabetical order. I’m currently trying to clean the inside of the bathroom radiator and there isn’t a clean spoon in the kitchen with which to make a cup of tea. I must be a bit ocd’ish I think.

My house looks reasonably (but not totally) tidy, MayBee, unless you open a cupboard door or in the dumping room aka the office.

Enjoy cleaning Berylsgranny!
I do when I have something new, at least for the first couple of times until the novelty wears off ?

Me too! I’ll never forget how excited I got when I first bought some cleaning wipes. I have tried to not use them: environment and all that. But nothing cleans things the way wipes do. I do try to get a lot of use out of one wipe. I don’t know what’s in them to make them clean so well. Magic rubber was another discovery. I was cleaning the bathroom last night and it dawned on me that the secret of not having to do a lot of cleaning is to keep everything in cupboards (which I don’t have). Them pesky spiders have woven webs all over the shampoo and stuff in the bathroom.

Callistemon - yes I have, just waiting for it's arrival smile

I hope so - she said she doesn't like cleaning at the best of times! They have all hard floors, though, so that should be easier than carpet
?

Hellogirl1 Thu 05-Aug-21 22:07:41

Callistemon, your daughter will probably love hers. My problem was that all the gubbins is at the top, making it top heavy, and as I`m not very strong these days it gave me awful backache, and also nearly ran away with me!

I love mine, I bought it along with the multi, which is great. I had a problem with my first Gtech when it needed a new motor, was too stingy to buy one so bought a new Shark instead, and HATED it! Have since sold it and bought another Gtech, so glad I did.

Oh, just saw that.
I will await an update from DD smile

Oh thank you all so much for your positive comments, it sounds as if I should just go ahead and purchase one. Excited or what! wink

Have you ordered one yet, Berylsgranny?

I thought I'd posted on here but obviously didn't
Just to say that DD has just bought a Shark and so far is pleased (another former Dyson owner!).

Hellogirl1 Mon 02-Aug-21 15:49:41

Meant to add, I don`t have any problems emptying mine.

I haven’t got as far as emptying my GTech yet! One thing I did learn quickly was to remove the battery before changing attachments though as it switches on very easily.

Hi all, got the cordless vacuum cleaner, then bought small hand held one. THEN bought the cordless mower… must stop!
So easy to use although emptying sometimes a bit of a problem.

Why is it that cleaners are so difficult to empty? My husband managed to empty his hand held Dyson all over the floor yesterday, but my Shark is not much better.

Very pleased with my Gtech. I've had it for getting on for 3 years now. Much easier than the Dyson I threw out! Sadly, the hand held was dropped from a height and irreparably broken, but I have a small Vax which does the same job (though the fact it has a cord is a nuisance)
