Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry at the moment here in Brackley but cloudy , so will see what weather will be like later .
Today, my usual trip out to Bicester , I have also been busy selecting some future coach trips.
By what I gather the day trips are taking off with full coaches on some destinations .
Could be a sign as more people are not going elsewhere outside UK due to other countries restrictions that are still going.
My sister and husband would like to visit my niece in Canada ,but are unable to that countries restrictions.
Take Care,
Mick

Morning all! Things are looking decidedly promising weather wise here up north. Hope so as I'm coffeeing later and hope to be able to continue doing so outside for the near future. Had a novel and lovely experience yesterday when I met a classmate from 75 years ago. I don't do Facebook but my cousin spotted the old school photo seeking incumbents and ran it by me. After a few bits and pieces the connection was made and our meeting was set up. Lots of lovely and interesting reminiscences took place and our single coffee lasted two hours. No time to drink for chatting. It's quite amazing what social media can bring out of the woodwork for good as well as all the bad press I so often hear it having. Hope everyone experiences one high spot today and recognises it.?

Just seen your postAshcombe I do hope things improve and you get better news from your DH

Good morning all. Quick post as slept late !
Managed to find the right football field yesterday and collect DG.
Haven't read a single post yet. Will come back to enjoy them later.

Good morning from another warm, dry day in Colchester. The washing line will be full of bedding today.
Hoping to buy paint etc. for decorating the kitchen/diner now that the building work in there is finished.
Another quote this evening for a few odd jobs and Thursday is online quiz night with the family.

Lots of Goodmorningers are in need of big hugs today, so I'm sending some your way x

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning and it’s overcast here on the Suffolk coast. Yesterday was very warm and sunny with a blustery wind. No wind today and the sea looks calm.

We walked in the forest with little pooch. It’s so peaceful and really beautiful. The rain and sun has really made everything grow madly and everywhere is so green. Lots of damsel flies and dragon flies and butterfly’s . It seemed as though we were in a Disney film ???????☘️?
In the afternoon we went to our neighbours for a glass of wine and cake. Her gentleman caller is still there. A nice chap and they both are really enjoying each other’s company. Life begins at 80! ?

Enjoy your coach trips Mick. It’s a great way to travel.
My DD and little gd are catching the coach today to go to London to see the musical ‘The Tiger who came to tea’. No worries about tubes, trains etc.
I’m booked with a friend to see Cinderella . (On the coach. )The new Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. 9th September. Really looking forward to that.

Poor Olddudders - he must be in a lot of pain. Hope he feels a bit easier today ?

Kitty hope they can sort out your dB soon.?

Wishing all poorly and worried grans a gentle day. ?

Greyduster Thu 12-Aug-21 08:08:43

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is out in South Yorkshire and, with work in the garden finally squared away, we are going out for a walk. Since we came back from holiday all my ‘get up and go’ seems to have got up and gone, so I need to get moving again.
Ash sorry to hear your DH is struggling with his back. Slipped disc, do you think? Hope they get him sorted soon!
Have the best day you can folks.

Marydoll Thu 12-Aug-21 08:08:24

Positive news about oxygen levels, Scentia. I have had an oximeter for years to measure my levels. It has been invaluable, along with my Fitbit when I have needed to seek medical help.
On a good day, my levels sit at 92. When I was in Coronary Care, the staff were flapping at a low level of 93, until I told them that was an improvement!?

Baubles ?????? Enjoy!

ginny Thu 12-Aug-21 08:03:51

Good morning, it’s overcast with a cool breeze blowing through my window.
DH is taking his Mum into town. She wants to buy a new watch and a few bits from M & S. I might go with them ( probably not).
DH has a Sat.Nav in his car which we use but I have never used one in my car whilst driving. I now have a stand thing to fix it in , so I may take myself somewhere pretty to practice using Google maps

Otherwise a bit of tidying and weeding in the garden.
DD2 is calling in early evening before she goes away for a long weekend with some friends and will have dinner with us.

Just had a call from DD3 to say would I like to join her and the boys while DGS2 has a haircut and a coffee and stickies treat afterwards. Better get going.

Hope you all find a smile today and things improve for all with troubles.

Good morning all from Polmont. It's bright and cool this morning, only 8° which is much cooler than before. I'm sorry to hear that your dh is in pain Ashcombe and also ? for Kittylester brother. Gwenisgreat that's really worrying about your bank account. I'm assuming they haven't managed to get anything. Nannagarra enjoy your day. It sounds like fun. Eating and drinking are high on my list of pleasant things to do! Grandmadinosaur have a nice trip. I've never been to Durham but it's on my list
Yesterday the mammogram went fine, albeit a bit uncomfortable. Then mum was in good spirits reminiscing about when I and my brother were children. I was awake at three and had a look for the Perseid shower but saw nothing.
This morning I opened the living room blinds and within minutes there is an outline of a large bird on the glass. I can't see any sign of a dazed and confused pigeon so I'm assuming it's okay. I'm heading to Stirling to buy something for mums birthday which is on Saturday. I'll park at Ds and walk into town as it'll take five minutes. Hopefully ds can meet for a coffee if he has time. Then it'll be home to weed. A particularly pernicious weed has colonised my front garden gravel so today I'll pull as much as I can and tomorrow I'll get weed killer down and do the drive for good measure. Have a good day all.

Scentia Thu 12-Aug-21 08:01:31

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where the sun is shining ☀️
No worrying news from the COVID house. DD feels like she has the flu DGS is running around like a madman, coughing all over everything? DGD is still showing very few signs, just has a runny nose, but DSiL, well according to him he is the poorliest man in the world. They used the Oximeter and all have oxygen levels above 95 so I think he is just a man!! It makes me feel better that DD is still potty training and feeling upbeat. I bred a stalwart, that’s for sure?
I am going for a walk into the middle of nowhere with my packed lunch today and tomorrow, I am still negative but isolating until Sunday at 00.01am so without any work and no one to visit feel very lost☺️
Ash I do hope Olddudders is feeling better soon.
Take care everyone and stay safe.

baubles Thu 12-Aug-21 08:01:03

Good morning Mick, good to see you are getting back to something resembling normal life. Morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sky is bright and clear.

Sorry to hear your DH is in such pain Ash, you won’t be worth a button today.

What a shame gMattie, lack of sleep is miserable.

Childminding afternoon in the capital today. The plan today is to walk from nursery where we collect them, through Holyrood Park, have coffee in the Palace tearoom then up the Royal Mile and back again. Their Mum works from home and we try to stay out for a couple of hours to give her peace.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Susan56 Thu 12-Aug-21 08:01:03

Marydoll Thu 12-Aug-21 07:58:11

Good morning all from a cool Glasgow, its only 8°C here, brrr!

GM, I too had yet another sleepless night, so I can empathise. Some time, during the night, short of breath, I was sitting on the edge of the bed, having a glass of water, when MrMDoll returned from the loo, did his usual elephant style thump into the bed, just as I was having a drink and I spilled water all over myself. When I drew his attention to it, he said, That's nice and promptly fell asleep!! ? He really needs to get his hearing tested. This morning, he said I was hallucinating and had imagined it all. Grrrrr!

Ash, you must be so worried about your husband and feel helpless. I hope OldD finds some relief today. ?

I spent yesterday worrying about not being able to go to my friend's (BabyA's gran) son's delayed wedding reception in four week's time. He was married at the foot of Ben Cruachan, with no guests present, during lockdown.
Yesterday, I received yet another letter from the sheilding folk, saying I was coded as requiring a third Covid vaccination and must continue to socially distance until my vaccination, as I'm immunosuppressed. How can I possibly go to the wedding? DH thinks we shouldn't go. I'm going to wait until nearer the time and see what happens. I would love to go, all my friends will be there. We have all watched our children grow up together and been at all their weddings, but need to weigh up the risks.

Party4 you have reminded me that I must phone and ask about getting my bloods done, as I'm on biologics. Due to sheilding, they were all put on hold, too risky, so they are long overdue. I'm sure everything will be fine! I hope you manage a holiday, I would love to go abroad again, but can no longer get insurance. sad There is plenty to see in the UK, but I may need to kidnap a reluctant and stubborn DH and take him with me!!

We have a Scottish Gas boiler service today, (only a year late) , so I need to get a move on. I will open all the windows and potter in the garden, while the technician is here. Numbers in our area are steadily rising again. I'm curious to know why? Schools here are back on Tuesday, which may cause it to rise even more.

I forgot to say, BabyA is making good progress. Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes. Scentia's daughter and Scentia, herself have also been in my thoughts. ?

Wishing you all the best day you can have!

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 12-Aug-21 07:46:50

Good morning all from bright Harrogate
I have had pinging on my phone this morning since 7.10 - someone is trying to access my bank account and I can’t contact the bank until 8am!
Ash I’m sorry about olddudders so frustrating for you both.
Today I have DGd coming for the day, she will have lunch with us then we will all go to pick up DGS from a school club.
But first she can help me sort out my Sainsburies delivery!
I think a few prayers are needed for olddudders and Kitty’s brother.
Have the best day you can folks.

Nannagarra Thu 12-Aug-21 07:46:15

Good morning from the Sefton coast where it is sunny and fresh.
Poor Olddudders; sending him, BlueSapphire and kitty’sbrother healing thoughts.
Celebrating a friend’s birthday with nibbles, bubbles and giggles today.
Sending a smile and a ? your way. ???

Grandmadinosaur Thu 12-Aug-21 07:45:01

Good Morning from sunny East Yorkshire.
Yesterday was another fun day with dgs. We went to a play area he loves. It was quiet with only 2 girls playing who also were with there grandparents. The children played nicely together and us gps also chatted. When the girls had to go the eldest came and hugged J. We then went to a pub nearby for lunch. We’d never been before but passed many times as it’s on the coast road. We got such a lovely warm welcome, the menu and food was good - so one to return to I think.
Today we are going away for a few days to Durham so need to look sharp I’ve got to shower and pack yet!
Ashcombe I am so sorry to hear about your DH. You must wonder what else can come between you. I do hope he will feel better soon.
Take care all

After overnight rain good morning from a sunny Black country.
Well after a lovely few days in Wales back to normal, washing on the go and ironing later.
Silly me forgot to take charger for my tablet so I'm behind with everybody's happenings.
Haven't read through yet but did notice Olddudders is having a lot of back problems. Do hope they can be sorted and Ash you and he can be reunited ?.
Mick nice to see things slowly getting back to normal for you with planned coach trips.
Stay safe all and may you all find some ?.

Nannytopsy Thu 12-Aug-21 07:36:34

Good morning Mick and all the early birds. Going for a walk Gelisajams?! I am still in bed!
I saw myself in a mirror yesterday and realised what a mess my hair is! I’ve managed to get a haircut at 9 am from a visiting hairdresser. This will be her third visit and I think we will get there. I am still training her! She is very quick, so I should be able to make the WI coffee morning by 10. It’s a new venture for the whole village, not just members.
I do hope olddudders is much more comfortable today and you can get together soon, Ash.
I see that from 16th there won’t be a requirement for the vaccinated to self isolate after contact with Covid. Is this progressing a bit too quickly?
Well, I hope the day is kind to everyone.

brook2704 Thu 12-Aug-21 07:35:07

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a dry and sunny start to the day. Yesterday was raining for most of the day so everything got a good watering - including me!
Today I’m going into town to have a browse around a few of the clothes shops as next week I’m off to visit DD1 in Cambridge and I always like to wear at least one new thing. She always looks so stylish so I like to make an effort. Will see if I can find anything!

Sorry to hear about olddudders Ash I hope he’s feeling much better soon and you can eventually be reunited
It’s a long time to wait for your brother kitty hopefully he’ll get his heart op before too long

Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

harrigran Thu 12-Aug-21 07:22:13

Good morning from a sunny NE ?
Awake at 6am so made a cup of tea, need to get moving as it is grocery delivery morning.
Busy day yesterday, got all the washing and ironing done.
Ashcombe, sorry to hear your DH ended up in A&E, back pain really can be excruciating.
kitty, eight weeks is a long time in hospital and to get covid whilst in there says something about their barrier nursing techniques.

Gelisajams Thu 12-Aug-21 07:19:24

Good morning from a damp Morecambe Bay. You must be so frustrated Ashcombe How I feel for you.
Not much planned for today. Maybe a walk in a few minutes.
Will catch up later.
Take care and stay safe everyone ???

Party4 Thu 12-Aug-21 07:15:07

Morning Mick and all from a bright West Yorks.I have also been awake since early morn. After a lovely day out with DSs and DGCs on Sunday started with cold/sore throat Monday so sleep has been interrupted all week.Panic set in as both DS are supposed to be going away, so took a test just to be safe and results neg.Today I have hair appointment with visit to theatre tomorrow so have repeated test, still neg SO after months of shielding I have contracted my first cold.Feeling pleased neither DH or myself have needed a GP since Feb 2020 and that was for advice to travel which obviously never happened. Continued with all meds requiring blood tests at reg intervals but have been fit and healthy.Do hope this means we can get holiday insurance easier for next year as ?we can honestly answer no medical visits for 2 yrs.Have a good day.Thoughts to those with illness and worries.

grandMattie Thu 12-Aug-21 07:13:18

So sorry about olddudders, Ash. Trust that the Valium etc., will have the required effect. Roll on the time you can help him in person.❤️

NannyJan53 Thu 12-Aug-21 06:59:17

Good Morning from a bright and sunny Black Country.

So sorry to hear about your DH Ashcombe, I sincerely hope the pain will lessen, it seems everything is conspiring against you both at the moment flowers

I took 2 of my DGD's to The Habberley Trail near Kidderminster yesterday. I totally recommend it for a fun day out, lots of adventure activities, bouncy castles etc. The girls are such a joy to be with, and very polite, with "thank you Nannys" often.

We have an empty Living room today, as the sofa an chairs were collected yesterday by a charity, and the Karndean Flooring is being fitted today.

Wishing you all a lovely day, with special thoughts of your brother Kitty
