Good morning all from a very wet Glasgow.
Corner and Ash, so sorry to read your news. Corner, waiting for the results will be an anxious time.
My only plan for this morning, while MrMD gets a good soaking on the golf course, is a quick visit to the supermarket for essential supplies, I haven't been out all week, as I've been feeling pretty rotten.
Yesterday turned out to be a surprisingly busy day, without even leaving the house. I was sitting eating my breakfat, when DH called out that there was a wee man at the door in pyjamas! This is how Dollie describes herself, when we ask who is at the door. What a delightful surprise to see her, as we certainly weren't expecting it.
DS1 is having his garden revamped and had brought us the slabs from his garden to recycle for the corner, where we are planning to put the patio fruit trees after the decking is completed. We cannot get slabs anywhere, an ideal solution, economically and environmently friendly!
Dollie was basically being difficult (which I find hard to believe
), so he bundled her into the car along with the slabs, to give her mummy a break!
.
It took two runs and I had her company for quite sometime. She insisted that I find Just Dance on You Tube and dance with her. Find the Kipling monkey, was the next activity. My bag of Kipling monkeys were hidden around the house and I had to find them! No wonder I was exhausted.
She then asked for a snack, her words were: "Gran, could I have a snack please, but you had better give me a healthy one, or mummy will freak out!" Out of the mouths of babes, she is only five.
In the middle of all this mayhem, the gas engineer arrived and I'm sure he thought he had entered a parallel universe! Much to our surprise, he found a leak in the boiler, which explained the problems we had been having, but couldn't work out what was wrong..
After they left, I decided to phone the surgery about the fact that my blood monitoring had been postponed again, due to my vulnerabilty. To my surprise, I received a phone call from my favourite GP and we had a long discussion about my failing health. He is the lovliest of people and always says he enjoys our talks, as I am a challenge! I always respond with, Just think of this challenge as your ongoing, professional development.
The outcome, my heart medication has been increased again and he will also contact my rheumatologist. Good result! However, if no improvement, who knows? I am now taking more than the recommended dose, but have no more options left.
I had just sat down, (to recover from the rascal's visit), when the phone rang, it was the hospital phoning to cancel a rheumatolgy appointment for steroid injections in October. (That's how long the waiting list is!) Much to my surprise, I was offered an alternative appointment this afternoon!
I cannot drive after it, so MrMD will have go to get round that golf course pretty quickly to be in time to take me!
I will come back later to read the posts, but for all those who are struggling, my thoughts and prayers.
Baby A is doing well, but a friend is nearing the end of her life, which is causing me and her other friends great sadness and I'm finding it difficult to deal with it. ?
