Good afternoon lovely Kitcheners. It’s a scorcher here, Mr. B and I have been doing a few jobs in the garden but it’s just too hot now. Very pleasant sat by the French window watching the world go by, there’s a nice breeze. Hope all goes well tomorrow Cornergran

Good sunshiny afternoon to all our very special Kitcheners. By George, you lot are wonderfully communicative. It is quite a task to catch up with all the activity.

Wishing cornergran a hugely successful knee replacement. We will all be sending positive vibes across the airways. flowers

Good afternoon, lovely Kitchen people ?
I've a lot of catching up to do!

Soop, I'm so glad you had a lovely get together, very photogenic family!

Happy 47th anniversary, Mr and Mrs Urms!

Good luck for your procedures, Dragonfly and Cornergran.

I'm sitting under the parasol, too hot to sit in the sun just now. Scotland in September, there's a novelty...
I've got a park walk with my sisters at 4, I'd better go and find my Factor 30.

Kind regards to all, enjoy the sunshine. ?

I had my flu jab yesterday. I popped into my local pharmacist to see if they were doing it this month to discover an assignment of flu vaccine had just arrived so I will be sorted if I am hopefully offered a booster later this month. I wanted a few weeks between the two because I had side effects after my second AZ vaccine.

All the best for tomorrow corner.

Beautiful photos of your family gathering, soop.

Belated wedding anniversary wishes for Urmstongran & your DH.

dragonfly, I hope all goes well for your ECG.

Thoughts for you cornergran, for your TKR operation.
(I had a GA for my first, & a spinal for my second, & yes, that was certainly the best option. (this was 10 & 11 years ago))

Warm Wishes for you all. flowers

Made an apple and sultana cake today, with windfalls from the garden. I’ll leave some in the kitchen…

Another scorcher here in Cambridge today, I took DGS to Anglesey Abbey, a NT property and luckily it had lots of shade amongst the trees as it was far to hot in the sun. Then picked up eldest from school and back home to enjoy another bbq this evening with the G&T of course
I too have had occasional shenanigans when looking after the DGC grandmabatty - comes with the job I think, but it’s awful isn’t it when they’re playing up. I rarely go out without a few sweeties in my bag to bribe them with ?
Lovely photo GG13!

Urmstongran Tue 07-Sept-21 20:49:36

‘Evening All’.

Aw - thank you to everyone for your good wishes. It’s really kind of you all. We are home now after an excellent anniversary dinner on the marina. This time 47y ago we were on our way to Rhyl for a week’s honeymoon in a friend’s caravan.... gosh, we were kids really at 20y and 22y!
?

Love the boys on that photo GG13 they look so cute!

Blossoming Tue 07-Sept-21 20:36:47

Good evening lovely Kitcheners, welcome Lizzie and Neen, as Jax says this is the bestest Kitchen smile

I got a surprising amount done today, with plenty of water and rests. I love the heat, so many of my aches and pains seem to disappear. I even got Mr. B to take me to the pharmacy at Morrison’s, then popped into the store for a few baking supplies. I was glad to see people still wearing masks and distancing, but the one way system has gone. I’m glad about that as I was having to walk so far to get what I wanted. I’m going to try making some blueberry muffins, I’ve just ordered a silicon muffin pan to replace the metal one now used to store odd screws in Mr. B’s mancave. Hope all goes well Dragonfly and Cornerbran.

Sorry if I’ve missed anyone, I have read through everything but it’s busy in here today and my brain is soooo tired!

Welcome Lizzie and Neen, it’s the best here. You’re obviously deserved cornergran, so no guilt, on you go ?.
Normal service resumed Grandmabatty there are occasions when I fancy a paddy, wouldn’t wash with MrJ!
My car went for its first service this morning, I didn’t realised the curtesy car would be covered in logo’s and cost me £15 for insurance, rip off.
I then went to my recovering friend’s house, her nail person came to redo both of our toenails, very kindly mine had been prepaid by my friend. That’s summer over then ? it’s been very hot today, blinds drawn, cooling a little tomorrow, I’ve been prepping lunch for two friends visiting.
Hoping Mr&Mrs Urms have had a magical day and are raising a glass ?.

cornergran Tue 07-Sept-21 20:05:51

Hope the ECG goes well dragonfly. Mr C has had two lately, his verdict was it was a pleasant lie down and quite interesting hmm.
Thank you all for your reassuring words. I’m possibly foolishly fairly relaxed about the process. Or I am today! A spinal anaesthetic was my choice, I have had one for other surgery and bounced back so much faster than after a general anaesthetic. All will be well. I’m determined it will be smile.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 07-Sept-21 20:01:04

The weather has been glorious, two of the GC enjoyed the spa before GrandpaGravy BBQ’d .

They are now soundo, we are exhausted as is DD after work and the gym.

Hope all hospital procedures go well tomorrow.

Nite Nite ?‍♀️

TillyTrotter Tue 07-Sept-21 19:25:26

I hope Mr & Mrs Urmstongran are having a very Happy Anniversary ?

SueDonim Tue 07-Sept-21 18:58:32

Hello from a balmy NE Scotland. It’s been so nice to be out in the sun.

Cornergran my mum had a hip and a knee replacement done under local - both went very well. The ops also gave her a free facelift - the relief of her extreme pain took years off her age, she looked ten years younger! Good luck with your op. ?

I’ve been doing small chores today, trip to the PO, buying buttons for jacket I’m making my GD. We also had the Sky Team people here to install a new box. They were very good, special shoe covers on their feet and they wore masks, as we did. V nice and polite chaps.

Grandmabatty Tue 07-Sept-21 17:42:36

I meant to say Happy Anniversary to Urmstongran earlier. I hope you and your dh are having a lovely day x.

TillyTrotter Tue 07-Sept-21 17:37:30

Good luck for you with the ECG dragonfly.
It’s okay to be nervous, most people are but they just can’t say the words. ?

dragonfly46 Tue 07-Sept-21 17:34:20

I love custard - all kinds and all flavours.

I hope it goes well for you on Thursday corner. I have a echocardiagram which I am not looking forward too.

I have book club here tonight and I hope they eat all the biscuits and crisps or I will be eating them all week.

Hope you had a good anniversary Urms.
