Hello! You’re all so busy, I’m not sure I can keep up with everyone.
Urmstongran it’s lovely to see you here, as I’d missed you on other threads. I definitely am
of your lifestyle!
Though I probably wouldn’t like it very hot. I really only thrive in temperatures between 20 and 25deg. Any more and it’s too much, any less, I’m a chilly mortal.
I hope your migraine cleared up, Soop and you’re enjoying your break. We’ve finally finished doing the laundry from The Grubs all coming here to stay. We’re still searching for kitchen items that have put away in the wrong place, though. All my tablespoons had disappeared!
Found them scattered around in various drawers, eventually.
I spent Thu/Fri visiting my 93yo mother and then looking after my little GD. It’s a two hour drive away. Mum refused to go out anywhere for lunch but only had biscuits to offer me so I went from breakfast time to 5:30pm on just two biscuits and a cup of coffee.
My GD is at a new nursery and I got lost trying to get there. Of course, it was simple, once I did find it! My GD successfully gave me directions from the back of the car for getting back home - she’s only three! We had a standoff over an uneaten cheese sandwich the next day. It was a cafe where they have those blooming lollipops for kids that eat their meal. She didn’t, so I refused a lollipop. Cue a sit-down strike on the floor of the cafe, thankfully no screeching, though. She then decided Nanna wasn’t for turning and begrudgingly ate her lunch and got the lollipop. I mentioned it to my dd, in case she thought it was the wrong thing but she heartily endorsed my approach. ?
My GD keeps us all entertained. I took her to drop off a present to one of my oldest friends. GD cross-questioned no less than three of my friend’s neighbours as to who they were, where they lived, whether they have grandchildren and if they do, they must be VERY old, what their dog was called and if they didn’t have a dog, why not. She doesn’t have a dog herself, btw!
I came home Friday evening and slept like a log that night, then had a two-hour granny nap yesterday afternoon.
One cheery thing, though, was that I was mistaken for GD’s mother. Admittedly, I was wearing a mask, but I’ll take my compliments where I can, thank you!
So, a quiet weekend for us. I’m about to go and do a bit of messing about with my house plants. I’ve got a Swiss Cheese that’s taking over my sitting room and needs to be properly staked. Also a red oxalis, which has just about stayed alive for three years but then my cats ate more than half of the leaves off this spring. That must have given it a shock as since then it’s gone bananas and exploded in size!
