JaxJacky we haven't had much of the wet stuff from the sky so it came as a shock. I did meet half of the new neighbours. A very nice gentleman who is getting stuck in himself to renovations. His wife wasn't about.
The boy wonder disgraced himself this afternoon and made his grandma sad with toddler shenanigans. Lots of shouting at grandma, hitting and throwing books on the floor. He was hangry. However I regretted telling his mum as he got a big row from both parents. Oh dear. Until tomorrow kitcheners.

Soop's welcoming and supportive kitchen for kindly folk...
(1001 Posts)Here we are yet again,
Happy as we can be...
All good friends and jolly good company.
WELCOME to our very own kitchen in which we celebrate happy occasions and support each other through the difficult times.

Toddlers eh grandmabatty, they do have their days. Good job we love them.
Good luck with the phone call soop. The family photos are very special, they just ooze love. I’d have been all of a tizz getting lost as you did. Happened to us a few years ago travelling to a city which wasn’t so very far for a family photo shoot. We had to be retrieved, much relief along with much teasing.
There will be little to report from here as we’re isolating pre Thursdays surgery. Very lucky yesterday to see all the family, that will get me through with a smile although I’m sad the beach is out of bounds in the glorious weather we’ve had today.
Apologies, everyone. It’s too busy a Kitchen to make many comments. I have read all the posts and send love. .
kitty hope your brother is recovering well from his op. X
‘Evening All’.
A day of strolling about in Arroyo, then a glass of chilled rose wine and some tapas. I chose black pudding and a dish of hot chicken livers with onion. Himself had gambas pil pil which he loves x it had a chilli kick. A dip in the pool this afternoon then I finished my novel. We’ve just received a photo of the smalls in their new school uniform - L’il Miss looks like orphan Annie in her pleated skirt - oh well, she’ll grow into it, as they do when you feed and water ‘em!
soop glad you’re back with us and you had a good time. Lovely photos. Lots of happy faces. What a smasher Torben is.
dragonfly such good news about your DIL. Well done to your little DGS ?
Sorry, have read everything but very tired tonight so not writing much.
Just to add to others comments. Phoenix was a very special lady. I loved her threads and we will miss her so much.
RIP Phoenix ?
Oops missed you. Hello ? Urms ?
Hi Doodle! ??
Evening all, I have collapsed on the sofa with a glass of chilled white wine, it’s been a busy day, bed changing, washing, gym and a bit of childcare in the midst,
Urmstongran Gambas pil pil is my favourite tapas along with patatas bravo and the bread with oil and salt.
Jaxjacky,
I really enjoyed your reply.
It’s been a roasting hot day here in Cambridge and DGS and I have spent it at the outdoor pool and splash park. He’s had a brilliant time and I’m exhausted but happy after looking after him all day. Feet up now and DD1 and I are just finishing a bottle of Prosecco - like you do ?
Gorgeous family photos soop everyone looks so happy! Hope Torben settles in well in his new school
A beautiful place to relax Blossoming so lucky that it’s right on your diorstep!
Will definitely miss Phoenix a very special lady ?
Hello all, is it bedtime yet? I’ve been cleaning today, proper down on hand and knees stuff. I’ve remembered now why I try to outsource to others!
. I’ve also arranged to move some bits of furniture to our DD’s house. It was one of those tasks that seemed simple enough to plan but no one would stick to the original arrangements. ‘Oh, I can’t do Friday now.’ ‘I can only do Friday.’ ‘There’s only one-man-and-his-van now, can you supply another man?’ Gah!
Soop great photos - I thought for a moment you were posing with Neil Diamond, with your son in the blue t-shirt! I’d have been very
if you were best pals with ND. I’ve never seen him and now he’s retired from touring.
Such a sad day for GN with Phoenix’s farewell. At least the sun shone down on us.
Take care, everyone. X
A belated welcome to Lizzie
A belated welcome to Neen
and anyone that I may have missed during my away days.
corner You are in our thoughts.
Grandmabatty Sorry to hear about the shenanigans. It's a sort of right of passage. I trust that you will have let's make up hugs. They too are extra special.
Welcome to Lizzie and Neen . soop ‘s kitchen is a wonderful place to pop into once a day and have a chat.
All best wishes to cornergran , and everyone else.
Hope all are keeping cool in this mini heatwave?
I have picked blackberries and will be making a blackberry and apple pie. I’ll make one for the kitchen and leave it on the side.
I think ice cream may melt, so there will be a jug of custard to go with it. ?
TillyTrotter how could you possibly eat custard? That and rice pudding are two of my pet hates. I prefer savoury food. Please note that in your diary in case I fancy popping in. If you have an animal, somebody has to check he/she is being cared for in whatever part of the country you live in. I am assuming it is England, easier to get to most places from London.
That’s OK Charley, fret not, I’ll happily consume your share of custard and will bravely eat your share of the pie.
.
Soop thank you for your commiserations. The boy wonder has been back to his normal sunny self. We visited the fish man this morning and then went to the park. There were no shenanigans today, perhaps because I bribed him with crispie cake! I've had lots of cuddles today too so I think he was sorry for yesterday. We've been playing in the garden too. I'm having lemon sole and chips for tea. I'm another lover of custard Cornergran but it has to be proper custard!
Did someone mention custard? Yes PLEASE. I'll have that which some of you won't eat.
Away to await telephone call. Back later.
Lemon sole and chips- perfect.
corner all the very best for Thursday. I grudgingly decided to have a spinal anaesthetic and for me it was perfect. I was worried I would hear the sawing and grinding etc. but it was fine, I was in noddy land. I had around 6 options but I doubt if you will be given such a choice.
You should ask what type of replacement is being inserted so you can google it later.
You will be home in no time, I only hope Mr. C does not need a map to find the kitchen.
From memory you have a house without stairs, so much easier for you.
Indeed Charley, not a stair in sight other than the ladder I use to ascend the upper storage area, aka the loft. Our home has been cleaned to within an inch of its life today and a cleaner is booked for the end of next week. Mr C will definitely find the kitchen as he likes to eat. Whether I will like what emerges is a different matter
.
A spinal is planned for me, the surgeon was delighted when I asked for one as it’s his preference and he was sure the anaesthetist would agree. I’ll believe this surgery when it’s underway, so many are being cancelled. I do feel more than a little guilty as I’ve not had to wait long and I know many people have waited years. Surgeon did say an x -ray from 2017 indicated the knee was ready for surgery then so I guess I have waited unofficially. I feel very positive about it all, will be home supervising in no time.
Best wishes for for your knee replacement Cornergran .I had my right one done 7 years ago and like Charleygirl I had a spinal,It was fine.I now need my left knee and hip replaced and I hope I will get a spinal for both.
My dgs is very fed up he has lost his taste and smell and not feeling great.Rest of family had a test yesterday and waiting for results it’s still very much out there.
Charley , your good self and Mr Tilly are chalk and cheese - do you know?
You dislike custard, fair enough,
but if I make a pie and ask him if he’d like some he always asks “is there custard?”
At Christmas he has been known to have custard, double cream and ice cream on Xmas plum pudding ?
corner A spinal anaesthetic was used for one of my total hip replacements. It was fine. A handsome young doctor held my hand throughout. During the first hip replacement I was fully "under". Nowhere near as interesting.
Tilly I also ask...is there custard? It makes total sense to me.
Well, what do I say? I'm an idiot, will suffice. I waited and waited for the phone call that never came. I had the wrong date in mind. It is Thursday that I should be waiting by the phone. I did however get the ironing up to date.
I am about to log off. It's that time of day. The sun is shining. I am in a good frame of mind. What's not to like.
I shall return tomorrow. Thinking of you all.
