I have received private hello messages from muse and Grandmafrench. I have urged them to return to the kitchen. They are much missed. flowers

Thunder is in the air. The air is heavy and heady. Apparently, tomorrow our region will have torrential rain. Three times, since logging on this afternoon, I've lost the internet connection. That is not a good sign.

soop Thu 09-Sept-21 16:31:40

I have obviously missed the sad news to which you refer. I shall try to find it.

dustyangel Thu 09-Sept-21 16:41:07

Oh soop, I deliberately don’t look at the side effects until I start having them, if you know what I mean.hmm I’m glad you have had your phone call and hope that the Exemestane does the trick for you. For some reason the name rings a bell but I can’t remember why at the moment.

We have a houseful here at the moment. My lovely DD1 and her equally lovely husband together with their son and daughter our GCs. The “children’s” partner and boyfriend couldn’t make it this time but DD says that she is enjoying having her children under her wing for the next week or so and that is lovely for them, and indeed us, having just her core family to enjoy.

After two years we are just luxuriating in having them around.
And I’ve had some wonderful hugs. smile

I want to send my best wishes for tomorrow to Cornergran. DH has had both knees done successfully with spinal anaesthetic. He didn’t feel a thing either time. For those worried about possibly hearing anything, they obviously keep the ‘sleepy’ anaesthetic as light as possible and DH says that he thought or dreamt that he could hear sawing at one point, and said so and the anaesthetist said “ not for long” and he remembered no more. Mind you all this was many years ago now and anaesthesia is even better.

dustyangel Thu 09-Sept-21 16:42:49

Our internet kept disappearing earlier too, I hope that doesn’t mean that we’ll be getting the rain as well.

soop Thu 09-Sept-21 16:56:45

dustyangel Enjoy every moment with your loved ones.
Our computer is playing up big time.

I managed to find the news relating to grandMattie. Although I have never interacted with her, I feel terribly sad that such a tragedy has occured. I cannot for one moment imagine how I would be feeling should such a thing happen in our family. Heart broken doesn't come come close.
My thoughts are with her and her nearest and dearest. I hope that there is all the support that they deserve. flowers

soop Thu 09-Sept-21 16:59:12

I am logging off for today. My best wishes and kind thoughts go out to you lovely lot.

Tomorrow, I shall return for more updates.

muse and Grandmafrench (hugs)

Hope your new medication suits you soop without any problems to report. Yes some very sad news on GN recently

Im just at the airport waiting for my flight back to Inverness, you were right Urms it was very hard saying goodbye this morning. I’m just going to have a coffee with a chocolate brownie - that usually does the trick!

Blossoming Thu 09-Sept-21 17:23:47

Good evening lovely Kitcheners, just a quick visit to catch up with your posts. This muggy weather has done for me, been out for a walk and now off for a lie down. TOYA

Hellogirl1 Thu 09-Sept-21 17:34:09

I hope that your new medication works well for you Soop.
We had the torrential rain this morning, I woke up to it, but an hour later it stopped, and we`ve had another sunny scorcher of a day.
I`m going to do my tea shortly, it`s Thursday, that means quiz night, so must be ready in time. Does anyone else on here do Jay`s Virtual Pub Quiz on YouTube?

Jaxjacky Thu 09-Sept-21 18:06:03

At least a productive phone call soop with some action, hopefully you and your new medicine will get along just fine. Thinking of cornergran and dragonfly, awaiting news that their day has gone well.
No Hellogirl we don’t do it, believe you join with your family to take part? Sounds lots of fun, we know of others who enjoy it.
Plant border now mulched, sunflowers are out, I’m saving their seeds, so much pleasure from them this year, but they were looking sorry for themselves.
I’ve been to the library, the vape shop and dropped off our old saucepans to son and GF, our new ones arrived this morning. A bit of voluntary work too. The landlady of our local tested positive today, so the pub is shut, deep clean tomorrow, perhaps we’ll go out for something to eat tomorrow instead of pub night.
dustyangel bet you’re having a whale of a time, how lovely.

Good evening it is very dark here but no rain yet.

I take Exemestane soop. Previously I took Anastrozole and I would say the effects are similar. The worst one is getting the legs to work in the morning. Once I start moving it is okay.

The scan was okay apart from the glugging noises. He refused to give me the result but did say my oncologist and heart consultant would get the results instantly. It was done by a private company which will have cost the NHS a pretty penny.

Hope everyone has a good evening and doesn’t get washed away.

Urmstongran Thu 09-Sept-21 18:37:59

‘Evening All’.

Just a quick peek into the kitchen tonight from me. I’ve poured a glass of chilled cava (an hour ahead, past the yardarm!) having just got out of the shower and about to get dressed. We’re meeting friends for dinner in an hour so I’d best get a wriggle on.
?????

NanaandGrampy Thu 09-Sept-21 18:58:02

Evening all in the kitchen, I come bearing birthday cake !!

Ive had a lovely birthday with breakfast out courtesy of one daughter, a lovely new water feature purchased by Grampy as a birthday gift and then dinner out courtesy of the other daughter...I'm too stuffed to cut the cake.

Luckily, Grampy mentioned it to the three little ones over the road and they have volunteered to come over tomorrow and take any excess cake off my hands LOL

So have a slice all and I wish you all a little sunshine in your day xx

Pittcity Thu 09-Sept-21 18:58:13

Hellogirl, we've taken part in Jay's quiz every week from the start (Thursdays only). Some of us team up via WhatsApp and play against other family teams. We tried Quizjockey but it kept crashing and spoiled our enjoyment.
Are you any good with the flag's or the pictures of places? Those are our downfall.

Pittcity Thu 09-Sept-21 18:59:00

Oh for an edit button as I can't abide abhorrent apostrophes!

Jaxjacky Thu 09-Sept-21 19:01:56

Oh Happy, Happy Birthday NanaandGrampy ???, sounds like an absolutely fabulous day, well deserved ?

SueDonim Thu 09-Sept-21 19:03:36

Hello everyone. First of all, I had to look for the news mentioned earlier. I don’t think I ‘know’ Grandmattie but what a tragedy for her. I can’t begin to think how the family is coping. My heart goes out to them.

flowers for all managing with illnesses and ops.

Soop my dd1 has had a ‘batty’ summer. Bats kept flying round their sitting room and they do seem quite large when only 10cm from your head! They live in an old school house and they think there’s a nest or whatever it’s called in the attic. Part of the attic has been lined and floored but they think there’s a small gap between the two where the bats are getting through into the house.

She found a bat sleeping on her linen basket recently! They removed it outside and it barely moved a muscle. grin

I’ve had another migraine the past two days, which is annoying. However, yesterday we got out into the countryside, where it was 27.5C! Today is about 21 and it’s now raining. I put a cardigan on because I was cold but had to take it off again pretty quickly as it isn’t really cold.

A chap knocked on the door today and said he was setting up a doorstep milk delivery service. It’s from local farms and they offer other goods, too, so I’ve signed up for a trial period. I had tried a different service before but they didn’t answer emails so I gave up with them. Let’s hope this one is good!

Grandmabatty Thu 09-Sept-21 19:09:38

Happy birthday Nannandgrampy. It sounds like you have had a lovely day. Suedonim I like bats but that's rather too close for my liking! I've had a very lazy day as I'm nurturing my cold. An early bed for me.

Doodle Thu 09-Sept-21 19:16:37

N&G many happy returns. Sounds like you had a lovely day.
soop you have to trust the consultants to know what they are doing. Some of the meds DH has have horrific side effect but he needs them to counteract other health problems. Hope the new meds are helpful for you.
dragonfly glad your scan is over. Shame you have to wait for the results. Hope everything is ok.
Urms have a good time with your friends. Don’t drink too much if you’re wearing those stiletto heels ??

TillyTrotter Thu 09-Sept-21 20:59:24

Happy Birthday ? ? ? ? to you NanaandGrampy.
Glad your day has been special.

Hellogirl1 Thu 09-Sept-21 21:50:46

Pittcity, my down fall, well, one of them, is flags. Also modern music and films. I did fairly OK tonight in the first 3 rounds, but terrible in the Connection round, so only scored 35 out of 50, shocking!
N&G, belated Happy Birthday!

brook2704 Thu 09-Sept-21 22:14:34

Happy Birthday nanaandgrampy hope you’ve had a lovely day! ????

dragonfly46 Thu 09-Sept-21 22:16:43

Happy Birthday NanaandGrampy!

BladeAnnie Thu 09-Sept-21 22:40:43

Just popping in to say goodnight everyone and a late happy birthday ?? to N&G
