Sorry muse no paying attention, thank you, I’ll let my friend know. He misses out so much in conversation as he won’t wear his (bit like me on here!).

Lovely photos Soop. I have been productive today. Weeded the front bed. Ironed. Tidied and cleaned and sorted paperwork. I had my gutters cleaned by a neighbour who owns a business doing gutters, roofs etc. He refused to take money as he said there wasn't much to clean. Wasn't that nice? I'm a bit achey today but I'm going to try and finish a cross stitch. Enjoy your afternoon kitcheners.

soop Thu 19-Aug-21 16:06:34

Grandmabatty You have put me to shame. hmm I have plenty to do but doing anything takes an awful long time. Never mind. The spirit is willing.

Yesterday's tea time treat with pals, was just what the doctor ordered. Plenty of blether and laughter. We were late returning home. Mr Soop therefore came to the rescue. We had fish and chips. Always a feast. Never bore of that meal.

*Sweetie Pie" paid three visits yesterday. I was washing dishes and she peered around the open kitchen door. We are extremely fond of her...and, I guess, she knows it. wink

SueDonim Thu 19-Aug-21 16:21:59

I’m struggling to keep up on here but I’m enjoying all your posts very much! I don’t know who/what Sweetie Pie is so I’m going to guess.
1) A fox.
2) A deer.
3) A seagull
4 An alien. grin

I took my cat to the vet today. He had an episode of blindness earlier in the year, solved by tablets to reduce his high blood pressure. He doesn’t seem to be seeing again but this time the vet can’t find anything wrong with him. He suspects it’s an issue of brain function (what brain? He’s the dumbest cat ever!) for which nothing can be done so we’ll have to live with it. He’s an indoor cat so luckily he won’t be in danger outside.

This morning I had coffee with two friends. We hugged each other, first time since pre-pandemic days. Then we realised we were blocking the door to a man wanting to come in to the cafe. My friend said to him ‘Don’t worry, we won’t be hugging you as well,’ and he replied ‘That’s a pity!’ He must have been about fifteen years younger than us and it put a spring in our step! grin

SueDonim "Sweetie Pie" is a black, feral cat that discovered our whereabouts about a year ago. She was terrified to come anywhere near us at first. She came out of the forest and sat the other side of the garden fence. Over time, we bought her a chalet and it is furnished with a carpet, cat bed and fleece rugs. She sleeps inside the chalet/apartment on occasions, and, she knows that if she sits outside it, looking towards the kitchen window, we'll spot her. We open the back door. She strolls into the utility room and sits almost within touching distance of us as we place her food beside her. She eats heartily, Lolls around for a while, has a good cat wash and strolls back through a gap in the fence into the forest. She doesn't belong to anyone and, we call her a free spirit.

SueDonim Thu 19-Aug-21 17:05:42

Oh, she’s lovely! ❤️ It’s true that you never own a cat, they own you.

soop Thu 19-Aug-21 17:12:35

Sue That young man obviously needed a hug. grin

brook2704 Thu 19-Aug-21 17:25:37

Beautiful photos soop you must be a very proud grannie and great grannie!
Thank you for letting us all know about Sweetie Pie, such a beautiful cat
A good day SueD especially the hugging but such a shame about your poor cat. Good though he’s not in danger outside, that’s the main thing
I’ve had another lovely day in Cambridge looking after DGS, today we went to a Young Aviators day at Duxford where there was absolutely loads to see and do. We’re back now so DGS is watching a bit of TV and I’m having a sit down and a cuppa ?

soop Thu 19-Aug-21 17:37:31

Brook Enjoy your well deserved sit down and cuppa. It sounds like the perfect day out for you and your grandson. I know that I would have enjoyed the experience.

The sun has shone today. It has been positively summery.

I wish you all a very good evening. I shall be back with you again tomorrow. smile moon

Kalu Thu 19-Aug-21 17:40:04

Oh Soop. I am so hoping Sweetie Pie becomes a permanent in your lives. She would be crazy not to ??

BladeAnnie Thu 19-Aug-21 18:21:31

Good evening dear kitcheners ?. Beautiful photos soop - how proud you must be ?. I've been to see my new DGS today and he is just adorable and looks so like his proud big sister did as a little one - don't they just melt your heart ❤. Taste the difference pizza and garlic bread on the menu tonight - Mr BA on kitchen duty as we speak. Hope everyone enjoys the evening as another day winds down to a close

Charleygirl5 Thu 19-Aug-21 18:31:47

Kalu I am certain there is room for Fern and myself in that house- nobody would notice me except at mealtimes.

Hellogirl1 Thu 19-Aug-21 18:48:01

Lovely family photos Soop, handsome grandson. Sweetie Pie sounds to be gradually getting braver. How long was it before Ruaridh became a full resident?
I`ve had the hairdresser this afternoon, she only left an hour ago. My untidy mop is now a lot neater, and my head feels lighter! I had about 6" chopped off.
The carer who thinks the world of Billy has been admiring his portrait. I`m going into town sometime next week to find a frame.

Blossoming Thu 19-Aug-21 20:27:31

Good evening lovely Kitcheners. The weather has not been good here but Mr. B took me in our planned outing regardless. It was good to get out and see what’s happening in and around our city. Very tired so an early night for me. Sleep well all.

Susan56 Fri 20-Aug-21 09:11:20

Just a quick hello before hurricane Henry arrives. We have had M here since Wednesday and H is delivered each day!!We are unable to do childcare next week so DD is trying to get ahead of herself work wise.

Have just heard the gate opening so will be back with you later.??has arrived!

Blossoming Fri 20-Aug-21 10:22:26

Good morning lovely Kitcheners. I have already posted this in the GM thread but wanted to share here as I know you don’t all read that.

We had a nasty incident last night, Mr. B. went out to put the recycling bins at the end of the drive and next door’s dog charged into our front garden and bit him on the arm! It’s a noisy yappy nuisance at the best of times, but this was awful. It was snarling and growling and really trying to hurt. The neighbour rushed over and dragged it off and apologised. Fortunately it didn’t break the skin, but there are nasty bruises. It has shaken me, it runs at the window and kicks off every time we go out in the garden or walk past their house and I have been afraid of something like this.

Have a good day all, I may not be around for a while.

Jaxjacky Fri 20-Aug-21 11:01:03

That’s sounds horrendous Blossoming I’d be reporting that dog, I can understand your trepidation on going out, which just isn’t right. I hope you’re ok and not disappearing for too long ?

Bellanonna Fri 20-Aug-21 11:20:52

What a nasty incident, Blossomimg. The neighbours should
make sure the dog can’t get out at the front in future. Maybe suggest it to them. He was lucky the skin wasn’t broken although bruising is bad enough.

soop Fri 20-Aug-21 14:16:55

Blossoming The neighbours must control their dog. If it had attacked a child, the outcome may have been ten times worse. I know how you are feeling. There was a dog that always sensed when we were walking by his garden fence. He'd rush out and frighten the living daylights out of me with his vicious, angry barking.

I have fear of big spiders. Having enjoyed lunch, I patted the cushion on my chair and an enormous spider ran across it. Only seconds earlier, I had sat against said cushion. Mr Soop trapped it under a tumbler and removed it to the garden. Neither of us would kill a spider. Doesn't mean that I want to share my chair with one. shock

soop Fri 20-Aug-21 14:18:59

Susan Enjoy your day. smile

Hellogirl1 You have beautiful thick hair. I remember it well.
There may be a delivery for you tomorrow. wink
