Blossoming don't feel you can't share your worries in the kitchen. I don't recall anyone saying you got on their nerves. That would be a cruel thing to say. We all have times when we have problems and use the site as a means of release. ?

Soop's welcoming and supportive kitchen for kindly folk...
(1001 Posts)Here we are yet again,
Happy as we can be...
All good friends and jolly good company.
WELCOME to our very own kitchen in which we celebrate happy occasions and support each other through the difficult times.

Blossoming no, no, no..you do not whinge, I’m sorry, yes, there are other desperate things happening, but you’re important too. Don’t ever forget that ? x
That cake, Baggs!
Good evening Kitcheners. Lovely to read of all the activity. Some of it, of course, is not necessarily the sort of activity that's required but, hey......GrandmaB has survived a day with Master Gonzales, the Speedy Boy from the park. I suppose you're lucky just to need the paracetamol. They move like something out of The Matrix, don't they?
Susan so pleased you're back safely from your sad trip. Please don't make life any worse by playing about on that stepladder. As Jax says, in the bin with it. I don't want to be unkind but I'm sure you'll never be Olympic standard for the dismounting of ladders, so be a good girlie and give in, now, please. There, a bit harsh but I've said it. ?
Blossoming whose nerves are you getting on? Just give me their names and I shall rush over and have a word. Membership of the Kitchen, as I am sure the dear lady in charge will tell you, includes all the cake you can eat and at least one good daily whinge if you feel like it. We are all here to back up that rule. So, don't ever think you can't say what you feel. We all have rotten days - you possibly have bagged more than your fair share recently, but moan away and let us help if we can. Feel fitter, stronger, more your old self soon, eh? ?
Thanks for your update, Anno. Hoping that some treatment will be offered for you very soon. I expect you know all about it, but I'd like to add my friend's experiences. She has a family plagued by bcc's and she is no different. I do wish she'd take slightly better care of herself (away from the hot sunshine) but it's her life and I shouldn't comment. However, the times that she has had 'things' removed - well, I've lost count. And she's as good as new again, and so quickly. You would never know that she had had any intervention, so do hope that you can feel positive about it all. Good luck anyway. We'll leave you to your packing for the world's weather, shall we? Bet you'll end up with so many layers just to be sure, you'll not be worrying about any extra bits of cake or the odd pound in weight. Carrying a large suitcase and wearing a sauna-inducing amount of clothes, you'll shed that extra pound or two quick as a flash.
(Wish I only had to lose a pound or two). Have a lovely time.
Glad you have made your own arrangements for some fun, Sood AND you get to have the peace of a hotel when you want, no work to do, and to be a nuisance in your own house any time you please - with no chores. If that's not a win/win I don't know what is. Inspired!
Dear Soop, I'm really sad that you are struggling and can't shake off that low mood. Hateful when we know we're going to lose someone and there's absolutely nothing we can do about it. That powerless feeling is a hard thing to deal with. Sending you a special hug x
Sending you all French hugs, as a matter of fact. Not sure how they differ from English ones, except at present they are probably quite a lot warmer and smell - a lot - of Oleander.
Nighty night and a peaceful sleep is wished for all.
Sorry this is late but hello SueDonim. Sorry too about the holiday let down. That airbnb was a ridiculous price! I'm glad you have found a solution - I love it. Might try that myself.
Beautiful roses cornergran and take care. See you in a few weeks.?
anno Thinking of you with the BCCs and the forthcoming appointment. Enjoy the holiday. I've been in two layers today, long trousers and socks. It's Cornwall I tell myself. It's August so where is the sun and shouldn't it be more than 18°. Have a good rest though anno.
grandmabatty. Will you remind Boy Wonder of that when he's a little older. I reminded my DGD (16) of something when she was 3 and I used to look after her quite a lot. I got "Oh Mamma !" and a disdainful look.
Very true chicken
Many will have those thoughts `*soop*. We all care about you to.

Tomorrow Mya has her scan to establish whether or not she has an enlarged spleen. Watching her racing through the woods as she does several times in day, I can't believe there is anything wrong with her. I can't do a 'let's wait and see' with her. It's important to catch it early. I'm hoping I will be able to smile tomorrow and say, it was just a scare, like the BCC on my eye lid.
MrM said he was feeling positive last night! Hello, I thought!. His worst leg wound hadn't troubled him too much. He has his dressings changed tomorrow so I will know more.
Nothing from my DS about DGD x ray on her arm on Sunday. Perhaps , no news is good news.
Our final crate of limestone slabs arrived today. Work can resume again on MuseMansion.
My final lily brightened my day the other day. I wish you could all smell it's gorgeous fragrance.
Blossoming whinge as much as you like no one minds on here.?
Just popping into the kitchen after a lovely but busy day with DGS here in Cambridge. We’ve been to the science centre, the park and the cinema for Peter Rabbit 2 - at least I got a sit down then! DD1 and SiL are out in town and I’ve just flopped on the sofa and got my feet up - but I’m not complaining one little bit, I know I’m lucky and I treasure every moment with the little ones
That sounds like a really good plan SueDonim well done with coming up with that and enjoy your hotel stay! Time for yourself and DH to spend together
I don’t know anyone in the kitchen who would mind at all about what you post blossoming please don’t feel you’ve got on anybody’s nerves at all. We’re all here to support each other with life’s up and downs
Apologies everyone I can’t respond to all the posts just now, but I have read them and hope everyone is doing ok. There’s such a lot of news and lots going on that I’m struggling to keep up
Thinking about phoenix and hope she’s as comfortable as can be ?
muse I do hope that Maya is okay tomorrow and you are sitting down when presented with the vet bill. I hope she does not shiver from fright when taken there.
TOYA
Soop that is a lovely painting. You are very talented.
And Soop, you got the eye colour just right, that`s the bit I was worried about, they`re quite a light green, compared to most cats. Well done, I love it, showed it to Billy, but he just strolled nonchalantly away! Thank you xxx
Thank you Grandmabatty, I do the best I can working from a photograph. I feel that the "humorous pose" portrait (Billy lolling, legs splayed on the couch) will be more interesting.
Our "Sweetie Pie" is here. She's having lunch in the utility room. She also had an early breakfast. She visits more frequently. Still slender, but not skinny.
We have an invitation to call in to see pals later this afternoon. I am looking forward to it. Their company always cheers me greatly.
The news of Phoenix's death, after so much pain, has come as a blessing. She has most certainly left many Gransnetters with memories that will never dim.
Blossoming Dear lady, you have never whinged. We are all entitled to feel less down than up on occasions. It's what makes us real. So, sit yourself down and I shall raid the cupboard for any birthday cake that needs to be savoured. It is gooey and gorgeous. I shall provide a proper freshly laundered napkin.
brook Continue to enjoy time spent with your family. I am looking forward to spending a short time with two sons and daughters-in-law very soon.
A lovely post, muse. The lily is stunning. We are all rooting for Mya. It is certainly best not to "wait and see". I am hoping for positive news.
Floriel I hope to goodness that I haven't overlooked previous posts of yours. I've been in a bit of a dither recently. If I haven't already welcomed you...WELCOME and please make yourself feel at home.
Jax I love the bee on the pink flower.
SueDonim That sounds like an excellent plan. Clever you.
Sweetie Pie ate all the lunch that we provided. She has since wandered back into the forest. That dear creature never fails to raise a smile]
Back to the easel and "Billy in reclining pose". After which, I shall wash and brush-up in readiness for the visit to pals.
Thank you all for your company. Until tomorrow,

Another masterpiece soop enjoy your catch-up evening.
I’ve picked blackberries, then frozen, visited son and his GF, ‘the woman I’m going to marry’ apparently, I may sound a tad cynical, there’s history. Bought slug pellets as tiny, weeny snails are eating holes in my peppers, I hate the things but DH loves them and they’re mine! I think I’ll have to water the garden tomorrow, although the days are cloudy, there’s wind drying the ground.
I hope Mya is ok muse.
Have a gentle evening all, with fond memories of those departed ?.
Mya is asleep on the sofa by me soop. The vet at the pet hospital said her scan discovered nothing. In fact she has a very healthy spleen. Thank goodness I was sat down Charleygirl5. Not only did I find out the cost of the scan and sedation but the scan could have been avoided. Long story cut short: the vet at the local practice, could should have known why her spleen engorged whilst under sedation last Friday.
MrM has had a fairly successful dressing change and a dressing down from the nurse. He should be taking some painkillers before coming in. Cleaning process is very painful and he should be resting for a while afterwards. The worse wound is showing signs of improvement but she's concern that the area around it is so painful. The other wound is now down to needing only a little plaster.
Jax. I spotted your question about hearing aids ! Left you and answer and some photos. Tomatoes are finally ripening.
I plan to relax this evening with a little pre dinner drink. Usual please MrM.
Jax Finally stopped those holes in my peppers. Netting and slug pellets for the last three nights and no more holes. Think my little snails must have been doing a vanishing act every time I went to do a late night inspection before going to bed.
Muse that's good news about Mya, if not the cost! Poor Mr. M. Hopefully he'll take some painkillers now.
Pleased about Mya..not me on hearing aids, yet, micro suction for now muse cheers ?
That’s good news about Mya muse but like you say the scan could have been avoided. Hope MrM continues to improve too
Another beautiful picture soop you’re so talented
Good evening everyone, no walk or garden today as the weather has been unremittingly dreadful. Just pottering around the house, plus the usual physio exercises. Tomorrow Mr. B. Is taking me out to a local stately home with beautiful gardens. There is a covered courtyard where one can enjoy coffee and cake if it rains, or even if it stays dry. Goodnight lovely Kitcheners, sleep well.
Sad day on GN today with the news about Phoenix
A wonderfully talented and humorous lady with way of describing things that often had me in tears of laughter.
You would always know a Phoenix thread by its title.
She will be sorely missed.
susan I’m sorry about your holiday. Yes it is ‘only a holiday’ but sometimes we need these breaks after a specially stressful time. Also being with family is a precious event. Hope you can re arrange something soon.
Muse good news about Mya except for your pocket.
Sorry been put all day today and tired now so can’t reply to all just to say TOYA ?
Muse, pleased to hear the good news about Mya, but, having recent vet bills experience, am wincing at the thought of the bill you will have had, unnecessarily as it turned out.
Mr M must be a brave man to go through that without pain killers.
2 of my grandchildren had an interesting afternoon at work. There was a big fire in their warehouse, fire engines from 7 districts were there, but they still lost the warehouse. Jenny said they all had to go down the road out of the way, had top leave everything behind, my grandson and 3 others had to take forklifts into the burning warehouse to move some gas cylinders and stock out, they shouldn`t have really, too dangerous.
