The weather is set okay
in others words it should be dry and very little rain is due.
I am just thinking I might not have enough time to do all things I want to do over the three days.

Infoman (or anyone else for that matter!) why the inclusion of the word last in the title?
Am I being dim or missing something?
Thank you!

It’s not even the last one of the year - Christmas Day and Boxing Day will still fall in 2021

Zoejory Fri 27-Aug-21 14:35:07

Last one of this year maybe, FannyCornforth!

Hopefully we'll be around for the next one ;-)

I'm out for 2 birthday lunches with friends and loads of dog walks in between. I have gone mad cleaning today so no hoover will be in my hand the whole of the Bank Holiday. Enjoy ladies.

Dh and i are off to do a car boot on sunday, and walk around one on monday, weather permitting of course.

We tend to avoid trips on BH weekends. Far too many people for my liking.

However my granddaughter will be 6 tomorrow and we're having a get together. Fingers crossed we get some sun and can pile into the garden

Quite fancied booking a Warner Leisure break but the prices are so prohibited so it’s a staycation again. Eating out at teatime today then off out tonight with my friends to watch a band at our local.

Definitely not going anywhere on a bank hol weekend. We're waiting for the children to go back to school!

Same here, we had nothing planned anyway never do and never did on BH.
Just heard pleas yet again from the Health chief on TV about Cumbria and North Yorkshire. The drawback of living near a honey pot is you can only enjoy them when either the weather is bad or it's term time.
It's always been the same my parents would never have dreamt of visiting Keswick, Ullswater or Ambleside during big holidays we had our own little secret places to visit. Which unfortunately the Sunday times seem to be keen to divulge to the rest of the country. I'm sure people in North Yorkshire and Cornwall and Devon feel the same.

You are kidding aren't you? Spread the virus and you'll be in lockdown again"!!!

Wish I could, but stuck inside because of husband recovering from knee op and he can't walk far. I also detest crowds, and although I would have liked to get to our caravan, we know the site will be heaving and we're not fans of screaming kids! I am however, going stir crazy being stuck at home.

Please don't come to Cornwall. Covid figures are the worst in the country, there is nowhere to park, no accommodation vacancies and cafes etc. are fully booked. We live half an hour from the beach but won't be going there until the schools are back.

Well at least you have that option once the schools are back. Do spare a thought for those who haven't the privilege here in Cornwall that you (and I) have.

I live in a tourist town: Southend. The seafront has been very busy/ rammed over the past few months.
Yesterday’s figure was 53 positive cases. Our cases are dropping.
I’ve been to Adventure Island twice in the past month.
All the cafes and seafront pubs are doing a roaring trade.

Aepgirl Fri 27-Aug-21 12:59:46

I’m off to a county show tomorrow - feeling quite excited and brave.

Chardy Fri 27-Aug-21 12:44:19

I read this week
26 Aug 2020. New cases 1,048.
Deaths 16
26 Aug 2021. New cases 38,281.
Deaths 140

I won't be going out except to walk the beach first thing, but some of my neighbours and friends will be working in retail and food with holidaymakers (who have come from all over the South) and local numbers will undoubtedly rise.

PinkCosmos Fri 27-Aug-21 12:43:49

I live in a holiday destination and the place is rammed.

There is no way I will be going out this weekend

RosesAreRed21 Fri 27-Aug-21 12:31:12

We live by the coast. If the weather is good its a nightmare to try and get anywhere is near on impossible and cant get parked so we usually stay at home.

Nannan2 Fri 27-Aug-21 11:51:23

Nipsmum- no but you get BH on other days that Englanders don't, so it evens up?

Nannan2 Fri 27-Aug-21 11:49:19

Unless taking a gift to my GD (on my own) for half an hour only not going anywhere as i don't want to take very many risks before youngest son (18) returns to college, as he was shielding previously.

GrammarGrandma Fri 27-Aug-21 11:44:43

I am self-isolating for a week after breast surgery but really don't mind!

Sheilasue Fri 27-Aug-21 11:42:30

For those of us who are retired you maybe like dh and I we don’t go out on bh or weekends apart from a short walk. We are doing our outings in the week, it’s much quieter and when the kids are back at school it’s not so busy. Much nicer to get about.

aonk Fri 27-Aug-21 11:37:31

It sounds like the OP and I are the only ones going out! We haven’t decided yet but will probably take a drive to a NT property or to a relatively quiet part of the coast. There’s not much summer left! We don’t care about traffic as long as we have water in the car.

nipsmum Fri 27-Aug-21 11:36:39

It's not a bank holiday in SCOTLAND.

leeds22 Fri 27-Aug-21 11:17:41

I live in a tourist area where covid rates are rising, so will be keeping a low profile over BH. Looking forward to September and a long awaited trip to Whitby.
