The weather is set okay
in others words it should be dry and very little rain is due.
I am just thinking I might not have enough time to do all things I want to do over the three days.

I live in N Wales, not going anywhere over Bank Holiday apart from walking from home, the roads will be heaving, but hope the weather is as good as forecast for those who are coming and that everyone has a great time

SusieB50 Fri 27-Aug-21 11:16:38

I’m on the train to my daughter’s - yes EVERYONE is out !!

maddyone Fri 27-Aug-21 11:14:44

I won’t be going very far, that’s for sure. I will visit my elderly mother in her care home, and most probably stay at home otherwise, although we’re considering whether to go out for a meal with one of our sons and his wife to a tapas restaurant that we like. I’ve said we’re only willing to go mid afternoon on Saturday as that seems likely to be the least busy time. We certainly wouldn’t go to a restaurant on Bank Holiday Monday when the world and his dog will be out and eating in restaurants. Nor on Sunday either, nor on Saturday night, so that only leaves Saturday afternoon.

Everywhere will be too crowded so will be impossible to park. My trip to the seaside can wait...

I stay home on bank hols and always have. Too many idiots on the roads

Going nowhere over the BH weekend! One of the (many) joys of retirement is having the freedom to go out and about at less busy times & thus to leave the BH to those people who really need a break. We shall be pottering & gardening. Time for hobbies & relaxing at home.

BH is just another day - only because the children and their young families will be out at fun fairs and the like. I'm too old to be running around those places - that's how I comfort myself, because they haven't asked me to join them anyway ?

NfkDumpling Thu 26-Aug-21 22:16:55

We don't go far on bank holidays and prefer to leave it to the visitors. And anyway the forecast for my bit of England isn't brilliant. Mostly grey and dreary with a northerly breeze making it ever so slightly chilly. Not beach weather.

Whatdayisit Thu 26-Aug-21 22:09:55

We went to Formby today and it was wonderful. Not that busy. Parked easily. Beautiful beach.
Working 6pm friday till 6pm Sunday.
But no alarm Monday morning. The last time till Xmas day I don't have to set the alarm at 4.20am to see to GCs. Work at 10am. What is a Bank Holiday?

BigBertha1 Thu 26-Aug-21 22:05:12

We are going for a drive in the country Wales wards on Saturday, the Game Fair at Knutsford on Sunday and a fun golf comp on Monday

Working smile Supermarket smile love it (no...really I do ) smile

Mollygo Thu 26-Aug-21 15:59:33

Bank holidays are for not visiting relatives as that involves long drives and endless queueing.
Instead it’s for walking and meeting friends-please let the weather stay fine!

DanniRae Thu 26-Aug-21 15:52:28

I am going out...........to my daughter's place - walking distance - for a family BBQ.
Seven adults and two grandchildren (2 years and 6 months old).

I am more pleased about this than I would normally be because we had been invited to an afternoon tea get together which I would have liked BUT it meant a 2 hour car journey
which I would not have liked, so we politely said thanks but can't make it smile

BlueSapphire Thu 26-Aug-21 15:51:36

DH and I always used to go to a nice country pub for lunch, but now I'm on my own BH Monday is just like any other day.

Blossoming Thu 26-Aug-21 15:42:38

We had a new shed built just after Christmas. I may go and sit in it on Monday grin. It has big windows and makes a great birdwatching hide.

It has power and a cute little stove, but that won’t be needed in this weather.

flaxwoven Thu 26-Aug-21 15:34:08

We are retired and now Bank Holidays are nothing special. There are various walks nearby where you can avoid crowds and traffic jams, or just sit in the garden with a cup of tea and a book, watching the sunflowers blowing in the wind. I envy those with big family get togethers though.

Jaxjacky Thu 26-Aug-21 15:26:57

Grammaderby10 Bank Holiday?
JaneJudge I’m eyeing our rather tatty shed with rather different thoughts now!

Grandmadinosaur Thu 26-Aug-21 15:26:48

Keeping not Jeering lol don’t know where that came from.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 26-Aug-21 15:26:09

Me too Juliet27 I’m jeering fingers crossed ?
Granmaderby10 I think it may mean Bank Holiday that’s what I read it as.

AGAA4 Thu 26-Aug-21 15:24:31

It would be good to go to one of the beauty spots or beaches not far from where I live but I know they will be packed. I just find it stressful so will just walk in the country park as usual. I will go early as that will get busy later too.
