have you loads of foreign coins to dispose of? a solution?

I should have added, we give substantial regular donations to charity anyway. TBH although the cash was certainly a nice bonus, it was more a case of getting rid of the cluttering hoards that had been accumulating for decades - inc. pesetas, schillings, francs, drachmas. It all weighed a ton!

A few years ago dh took a stack of foreign coins we’d collected for years (some even pre Euro) and small denomination notes (the ones the banks won’t take) to a machine in one of the big London railway stations. IIRC the machines are called FourEx, or ForEx.

He came back with just over £90!
Later did the same for a dd’s collection - £60 odd.

I volunteer in our local Air Ambulance charity shop and we will accept foreign coins, broken jewellery, rags....anything that has a resale value.

I have always given any foreign leftover monies into the collection boxes brought around on the plane prior to landing quite a few airlines offer the service and donate the collection to childrens charities.

We always drop ours off in the bins at the airport on the way out, BA used to come round with bags and collect them, but I suppose Covid has put a stop to that!
