Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry here at the moment but cloudy in brackley.
Yesterdays bus trip out altered , got to Buckingham , and making way towards Bicester , temporary lights caused hold ups , so decided to return home from Bicester on direct bus .
Anyway , today sees the start of the Tour of Britain Cycle race on TV with a stage in Cornwall , the race had been cancelled last year because of covid , plus the Vuelta finishes today so it will be a day with feet up watching those events.
Take Care,
Mick

Morning from S Lanarkshire, a bit cloudy but blue sky peeping through. I feel more ‘like the thing’ this morning after a really exhausted day yesterday. Definitely don’t bounce back any more!

Welcome to all the new posters I’ve missed over the past week, I won’t list names because I’m bound to miss someone out.

Lunch today with my youngest DD and family with a sleepover to follow as I am back to looking after the two DGC when they come home from school on a Monday. I’ll probably clear a mountain of ironing before they return!

So glad to see our Covid sufferers are well again, there’s an alarming numbers around here.

Wishing everyone the very best of Sunday’s ??

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a brightening South a Yorkshire. The sun is doing it’s best. Finishing off my elderberry cordial this morning and then we are taking DD and her menfolk out to lunch at a pub that is new to all of us, so I hope it doesn’t disappoint. Personally I hate eating Sunday lunch out, but the house is a mess and reeks of paint at the moment so our restaurant is closed!
Welcome Ullabirgitta. Have a good day one and all.

LauraNorder Sun 05-Sept-21 08:46:15

Well the top of the morning to one and all from a beautiful blue sky day on the Isle of Anglesey.
Welcome to the good morning thread Ullabirgitta.
Gardening today, some weeding, tidying the borders, bit of dead heading, you know the drill. Glad I didn’t pack away my shorts.
Enjoy a great day everyone ?

aggie Sun 05-Sept-21 08:38:34

Good morning all, it’s lovely and bright here at the moment , wee bit chilly and no signs of rain, out with the watering can again later
No plans for today , i will catch up with my crochet blankets . I have 3 on the go , stops the boredom with one
I got virtual Mass last evening and remembered our missing friends

Lots of cycling for you today Mick enjoy your day scentia . Hello Ullabirgitta we love Stockholm, are you near?
Gingster sounds like a beautiful wedding blessing.

Another mild day here in S E Essex, we are going for a late Sunday lunch with DD, GC & DD’s godmother at one of our local Italian restaurants, they do a very tasty roast.

Urmstongran DH is looking forward to the Grand Prix after last week’s fiasco.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Good morning all from a misty North Leicestershire.

We are off to the Cotswolds for a few days when we get organised.

Glad you had a lovely day Harri

Welcome Ullabirgitta.

Scentia, I will be interested to hear of your trip to what we call MacArthur Glen.

Good morning from Formby where the view from the window is of large horses in a field with furry feet. They remind me of a holiday in Ireland some years ago when we had a horse drawn gypsy type caravan to wander about in. You had to clean the horses hooves each morning. DH did this while I held the horse. One morning he was particularly frisky and I couldn’t hold him (the horse) still, so we tied him to a small tree. He was still restless and next minute he had pulled the tree, roots and all out of the ground. He was running round the field with the tree in tow!
Off shortly to a farm park with DGD while her mum and dad nurse their hangover.
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Good morning from a brightening south Cornwall. I'm not new here, just been absent for a while. Thanks Mick for reminding me that the Round Britain cycle race passes near my front door today. I have a hearty old-fashioned cold (remember those?) so will stay in and watch the race on the telly. The best of days to you all, and welcome to all new people, to whom I shall be new too!

Pittcity Sun 05-Sept-21 08:19:11

Good morning from sunny Colchester. 24 degrees forecast. Summer is back.
DH is fishing and DS will sleep late after a night out, so I'll walk to Aldi and then potter today. Probably sit in the garden to make the most of the weather and then water it this evening.
Love to all x

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 05-Sept-21 08:17:20

Good morning all from bright Harrogate
My 1st day of freedom!! I intend to go to church and will take DH out for a birthday lunch. Undoubtedly DDs will be round at some time to deliver his birthday presents. It will be so good to see them!
This I believe is the start of slightly better weather. Hope it continues for our trip to Llandudno next week
Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning from a cloudy but increasingly brighter Black Country.

It was a lovely sunny day yesterday, almost hot! I rang my friend who lives nearby and we walked to the park, and sat in the cafe garden with a smoothie. An impromptu outing is always lovely.

MrJ tried a new recipe for dinner yesterday ( Jamie Oliver). Venison steaks in a blueberry and juniper sauce. It was very tasty. We sat outside again until well after 10pm

We are off to Burnham today to stay overnight in our caravan (it is stored there). Then off to Corfe Castle on Monday for a week. Last minute preparations, then we are off around 11am.

Sounds like a lovely wedding Gingster and a perfect day all round.

A warm welcome to Ullabirgitta look forward to hearing about life in Sweden. I would love to visit Sweden and Norway one day.

Thinking of Marydoll Grandmafrench and all our missing posters. Where are you EV? Gilly to is often in my thoughts, and hope she and her family are well.

Wishing you all a lovely Sunday

Good morning everyone from a bright bright sunny but sharp start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. Me and himself are preparing to go to church for the second week in a row.and no the roof didn’t fall in wink It’s really lovely to be greeted by so many lost acquaintances and friends. It’ll set me up for the day. I had a bit of the stroke fatigue yesterday however I was determined to get up for my tea and to watch tv with my DH

After being supported to bed I heard himself shouting like mad at the football, not my cup of tea except I was forcing myself to watch the celebrity football I’d recorded for UNICEF. my favourite person from Line of Duty was playing along with other celebs I think I fell asleep before the end because I don’t know who won. Zzzzzzzz

I was really disappointed to see him being killed off in the first few minutes of his new thriller and I must watch the second episode soon he may be resurrected confused

Anyway thinking of those who have recently been touched by sadness my thoughts are with you I’ll say a few when I’m in church this morningflowers

Nannytopsy Sun 05-Sept-21 08:11:46

Lovely day yesterday Gingster - happy memories for you.

Nortsat Sun 05-Sept-21 08:09:55

Good morning Mick and the GM team from grey east London.
God Morgon, valkommen, Ullabirgitta.

It’s lovely to hear about everyone’s plans and trips out ... it feels like some normality is returning.
Having shielded for so long, we are still extremely cautious.

Almost at the final stage of switching energy supplier. Hurrah. Though the huge price hike is nothing to celebrate.

We are going out for dinner tonight to a Michelin starred restaurant. Looking forward to that.

Wishing all the Good Morningers a pleasant day and good thoughts to those facing challenges. ?

Nannytopsy Sun 05-Sept-21 08:09:33

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
Only light cloudy and some sunshine in Suffolk this morning but there’s a definite Autumn feel to the air. Yesterday the air was full of the sound of combine harvesters and tractors. There are still plenty of fields of wheat and barley to be cut. It’s our Harvest Festival this afternoon and now that we are so rural, I really feel part of the harvest.
Welcome Ullabirgitta - are you town, country or coast?
Huzzah Scentia - enjoy your shopping!
Lots of cycling to watch Mick! I wish the Test Match was on terrestrial TV.
Well, time to get moving - there are weeds to pull and plants to plant!
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

ginny Sun 05-Sept-21 08:02:38

Good morning from N. Bucks where I can see a tiny bit of sunshine through my bedroom window .
Harrigran so pleased you had the outing with your DH.
Happy freedom day Scentia.
Our ‘dinner’ with friends yesterday started at 4 pm and we left at around midnight. A good time had by all.
We have Lord Jasper coming to visit today whilst DD3 and family have a day out with friends. We had no plans other than MIL coming for Sunday lunch.
Get well wishes for all that need them and hope you all find a smile in your day.

Daisytwoshoes Sun 05-Sept-21 07:51:35

Good morning mick and all .it’s grey in Cornwall this morning.hopefully the sun will shine later as we go home tomorrow. Out for lunch at a beachside restaurant then maybe a walk or a couple of hours on the beach
Hello to to the new posters .I’m fairly new too . Have a good day everyone and thoughts to those feeling under the weather ?
Scentia enjoy you day out and your freedom

Grandmajean Sun 05-Sept-21 07:50:14

Morning all from Cheshire.
Welcome back to the world Scentia
So glad your DH was well enough to go out harrigran
Sun trying to shine here. Picking up DG from Cub camp later.
Have a peaceful Sunday Gransnetters !

Gingster Sun 05-Sept-21 07:48:49

Good morning all from a sunny Suffolk coast.
We whizzed up here yesterday, just for a couple of days, as it’s my late sister in laws memorial gathering today. We will have afternoon tea at a local country club and chat about ‘Dee’ and remember her fondly.

We had a perfect day on Friday for my Nieces wedding blessing. They were married last year in the Netherlands but Claire wanted a church blessing in the village where she grew up, so that her mum who has advanced Alzheimers could be there.. All went well and mum smiled and enjoyed hearing her Opera singer son perform her favourite hymn and a rendition of Eidelweiss as she loved the Austrian alps. Needless to say, I spent most of the service in tears. . We all walked back to my db’s for a hog roast and lots of champagne. A wonderful day. ?

Scentia have a great day with your family. I bet you thought the day would never come. ?

Welcome to Ullabirgitta. ?. Nice to hear about lives in different parts of the world.

I hope you all have a splendid Sunday. ?

harrigran Sun 05-Sept-21 07:38:53

Good morning from the NE where it is a little brighter and is 13 degrees with a promise of 19 later.
Yesterday was a good day, DH was well enough to join the family for lunch in a restaurant, we had a family celebration for both GD's birthdays. BIL drove our car which is roomy and comfortable, it was so good to be out of the house.
Today we are going to take it easy and there will be no visitors to the house.
Enjoy your Sunday.

brook2704 Sun 05-Sept-21 07:35:27

Good morning everyone from Cambridge where it’s a sunny start to the day and forecast to be very warm later
Welcome Ullabirgitta ? and enjoy your day out Scentia!
We’re having a family day out somewhere today but not sure where yet. Yesterday I had some time to myself so went browsing the shops and sights of Cambridge which I really enjoyed. Later on I met DD1 at her newish allotment where she was busy weeding and marking out planting areas.
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Urmstongran Sun 05-Sept-21 07:34:26

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s already warm and the sun’s just up. ? 34°C is our forecast. The noisy parakeets are up and about already! I think they are delightful.

We are just having a day in the gardens. I shall read my book ‘Anatomy of a Scandal’ and probably finish it. Himself has the Grand Prix to watch this afternoon. Last Sunday’s was a boring washout.

You do well starting us off so early every morning Mick! I looked at the clock earlier, thought ‘Mick will be opening up soon’ and dozed back off. You have my admiration - rain, hail, shine, Christmas Day - you’re always ready for our posts. Thank you!

Hello to you Ullabirgitta ? it’s always nice to welcome newbies! You sound positively fizzing with anticipation this morning Scentia! Enjoy your day out.

Hope Sunday is a good day for us all. x

Beechnut Sun 05-Sept-21 07:26:04

Good morning everyone from Severnside where it’s cloudy and warm.

As my sign by the front says Scentia, ‘Go out and see the world’.
Welcome to the new good morningers.

I’ll write some letters today and hope to plant my new plants into the garden for autumn colour. Also sit and read my book.

Enjoy your Sunday all ?

Ashcombe Sun 05-Sept-21 07:24:43

Good morning, one and all from a sunny Sarthe. A humid evening with thunder rumbles but none of the rain that would release me from plant watering duties!

Welcome back to normality, Scentia and enjoy the lovely day you have planned. I hope everyone has a relaxing day of rest. We are looking forward to watching the Dutch Grand Prix this afternoon, motor racing being one of DH's passions!

Take care and stay well! ??☀️
