Owning up time here doodle and brook. Mr C and I went to the Harry Potter experience without a child or indeed children. We had a whale of a time. Rode a broomstick - twice
and walked through a wall. The family seemed to think the broomstick apt

Soop`s cosy kitchen for sincere and pleasant peoples
(1001 Posts)Well, this kitchen is lovely, I love the cool decor and colourful rugs.
I think I should have typed www.westwoodlakes.co.uk as the other doesn`t seem to work.
Doodle I've never done a pumpkin before. I have done a reindeer for Christmas using paper decoupage but the pumpkin was using material. It was very satisfying.
Goodness me, slow down you lot. So many posts to catch up on ?
chicken please take it easy. I do hope you start to feel better soon.
Lovely to have a visit from your DD Muse. I expect it seems quite quiet without her. If you have any of the Christmas pudding mix left please make a batch for the Argy Christmas reunion. The alcohol content sounds about right ?
Glad you had a nice time with your friend ann
Brook my DGDs went to the Harry Potter experience too. They really enjoyed it…….almost as much as their mum and dad ?
Sorry to hear the news about your friend grandmabatty. Such a shock for his wife.
soop if all us lot got together I think we would all be chatting so much the noise volume would be tremendous. ?
Sorry Hellogirl I missed your DD being in hospital. Must be difficult not being able to have visitors. Hope she’s home soon.
That pumpkin is very artistic grandmabatty have you done one before?
Sorry I can’t reply to all but I am TOYA ……yes you too Urms ?
Blossoming When you mentioned your husband's wardrobe, it reminded me a thread I started back in March. I wonder if you can remember it. It was all about MrM's eclectic wardrobe. You left a post on it about what MrB wore. Jax posted on it too. ? I've just done a search to remind me.
You've got me singing that now Jax. Just love Jimmy Somerville's voice.
Happened to me this morning Urmstongran but in reverse ! I saw my fortunately short post appear about 6 times as it hadn't posted and I stupidly kept "sending"
Gransnet kindly removed it at my request but probably not before a number of you were thinking "daft old bat"
Bad weather in the South of FranceGrandmafrench ! How very dare it !
Had a long walk this evening so feeling virtuous as had been lazy about exercise over the weekend.
Enjoy what remains of the evening, Kitcheners and caring thoughts to all worried or unwell.
Grandmafrench I remember you posting about your friend on Canada. That's terrible that he still hasn't been laid to rest. How his family must suffer.
I've included a photo of tonight's effort. A boho pumpkin using decoupage apparently. I am, however, covered in glue and am sitting picking it off my hands. I feel like I'm at school with glue and glitter! It was a lovely way to spend a Monday evening. Until tomorrow chums.
Crossed posts Grandmafrench you’re sharing our weather, how very kind!
Meant to say Blossoming perhaps you could persuade MrJ a fraying shirt collar does not mean it’s ‘worn in’…?
Oh Grandmabatty how sad for everyone ?, enjoy your class, a welcome distraction.
Maybe another distraction muse, MrM and the hand gel?
I’m sure Billy is welcoming the chat Hellogirl! And SueD those babies like their comfort don’t they, gearing up for the journey ahead.
A quiet day here, had a drive this morning for a very sprightly, chatty lady who went for a blood test while I waited, I enjoy the company of most clients. It rained on and off, so no gardening, just the library and vape shop, we’re on a weather warning for heavy rain overnight.
MrJ and I didn’t endear ourselves to the neighbours earlier, we had to pop out to the shops, in the car, on the way back ‘Don’t leave me this way’ came on the radio. My car has a very good DB system, so up it went, we were singing and jigging, even in the drive, until it ended! Giggled into the house…happy moments.
I’ll wish you all a pleasant evening x
Hello lovelies
Gloom and long post alert! Sorry!
What a GREY and WINDY and GLOOMY (though very warm) day). See how spoilt I am, I just detest not seeing blue skies.
Unfortunately there may be 10 other gloomy days with RAIN sometime this month - as this is our wettest month of the year. I shall try to keep cheerful, meanwhile seek comfort and solace in the Kitchen.
So very sad about your friend, dear Batty. It's such a shock when something like that happens, for everyone, and is often a bit of a wake-up call when through the sadness we remember that we should never take life for granted. Our dear friend who died in June is still in a mortuary in Canada. No sign of any funeral arrangements being able to be made for him. On top of the family's grief, that all just seems so wrong to me.
Glad you're on the up again, SilentSusan. Henry will settle, bless him. It must be all so new to a little chap and I agree that at that age, they probably have no idea if they are going to be collected or when, since they have no concept of time. He'll be loving it after a few weeks, though, I'll bet,
Well you sound very much in control, Ann. We mustn't get between a woman and her new cleaner. Maybe you could turn up at mine if you have some spare time (before you have worn those carpets to the thicknesss of tissue paper!) So glad you are hell bent on making life as comfortable and convenient as possible for yourself.
You're very wise not to stray very far, N&G, but you've survived lockdown so a fuel famine is not going to get the better of you any time soon, is it?
Yia and SueD hope that after the falls, your nearest and dearest are fine again and undamaged. You must be soooo excited SueD. How much do I love babies!
Seems that Big Hair will be coming back into fashion very soon, thanks to Urms and a magic potion. I propose that each user takes two photos (from the rear?) a before and after for our entertainment.
Shame about your Norfolk weekend Gill , but if there's no fuel maybe the Granddog's arrival did you a favour.
I love Martin Clunes, Jean - he's normally such a giggler....except when he's Doc Martin of course. Do hope your sickly little chap will be fit for school tomorrow,
Muse of course you'll be 'down' and after such a fun weekend. But she'll be back and I bet you've made such a difference to her mood. Best wishes for Mr M's leg and hope it's a good while before he misses most of the contents of his wardrobe. You're so bad!
GrannySomerset how lovely to see you in the Kitchen. Hello too to Brook, Tilly, Blade and Jax x
Hellogirl - a bit of space from your Daughter is nice, but that young Billy is never going to fill her place, so hope she's back really soon and before you get really bored with Billy's witty repartee !!
Soop we do need to visit you for some proper conversation. Wouldn't that be wonderful? (Well, it would for me.) There are so many people in the Kitchen now that we'd possibly have to re-arrange the furniture a bit, but wouldn't we have a hoot!
Do hope that you and The Boots are well, ditto Mr Soop and his very own Sweetie Pie.
Have a lovely evening, all. Big hugs from me as always.
Keep well, keep safe.
??♀️?
Thank you all for your kindness. He was 65, no age at all really. Apparently his family were known for sudden deaths. It happened to his father and his brother. He had been talking about that to other friends just last week. The hardest thing for his partner is that he was away from home and died alone. Because it was a sudden death, there will have to be a postmortem and an inquiry so it'll drag things out.
Anyway I am ready for my craft class. The pumpkin spice candle is on and my house looks and smells cosy and autumnal. See you tomorrow kitcheners.
That’s dreadful news, GrandmaBatty. I’m so sorry.
My friend died suddenly three years ago, from something none of us had ever heard of, and i think it’s fair to say that we were all sent reeling by it. Something like that just pulls the rug out from under your feet and can leave you floundering for a long time. Xx
I’m sorry your dd is in hospital, Hellogirl. I think I missed that earlier but I hope she’s home soon.
Still no sign of the baby here! Dd1 is most put out that she hasn’t even been able to amuse herself with Facebook & Instagram this afternoon, as they’ve both been down.
I’m not long back from Sainsbury’s. My main aim was to get ingredients for Christmas cakes and puddings. Everyone must have had the same idea as I bought the last remaining bag of sultanas and will have to look elsewhere for currants and raisins. I also succumbed to some cute leggings and a dress for GD, plus a jumper for myself. That put the bill up.
Yes, thinking of you all ?
Hello everyone. Please can someone tell me what TOYA means. Is it, Thinking of you all? TIA
Good afternoon dear kitcheners. GrandmaBatty what an awful shock for you ? sending my condolences. Hellogirl ? keeping my fingers crossed that your DD will soon be home. Urmstongran I'm reading about the hair thickening powder and had to look back to find the link. Definitely having a go with that!! Pasta Rustica on the menu tonight - always a favourite and we are watching Vigil on iplayer. Enjoy the rest of your Monday
I went for a short nap at 4 o'clock and I've recently re-surfaced.
Never mind, I shall freshen up and prepare for a relaxed evening.
I apologise for not responding to all the latest posts. TOYA

Sorry about your friend Grandmabatty a sad loss?
Thank you all who sent kind words for my DS,he puts up with so much and always has a ?
Hope your DD will be back with you and Billy very soon Hellogirl
Have a good evening everyone.
Also I hope your DD is well enough to be discharged home from hospital soon Hellogirl.
I’m glad you have Billy for company.
So sorry for the shock you have had Grandmabatty , to suddenly lose a friend. Life is very precious ?
Felt out of sorts this morning. I'm putting it down to missing DD's company. Had a text from her earlier on saying I should do more escape days as I'm meant to be having a relaxed retirement.
Christmas puds are currently soaking up the whisky and Murphy's beer I've sloshed into the mix.
MrM's back from his first dressing change of the week. No comment (but I will ask before the day's out) about progress of the ulcer but he has filled me in on the problem he had with the new hand wash at the door of the surgery. It glued his hands together?. Wednesday is the Doppler test.
So sorry to hear about your friend, Grandmabatty.
Another Gtech fan here. I have a Gtech air ram, plus the multi, which is worth it`s weight in gold! A couple of years ago, after struggling to get even the Gtech upstairs, I bought one of their cheaper stick models, £60 in the sale instead of £80, just to keep upstairs. My daughter says it`s rubbish, but it does me, it`s only for bedroom and landing carpets, I use the multi on the stairs, coming down one step at a time on the stairlift!
My daughter is still in hospital, and because of an infection risk, visiting on that floor stopped last Thursday. She drives me nuts most of the time, but nowadays I`m talking to myself a lot, so maybe it`s time she was home? I`ve tried talking to Billy, he`s a good listener, but doesn`t say much back!
Good news about your DD2 SueDonim and about Henry Susan. ??
Sorry to read your sad news Grandmabatty. ?for you and your friend.
Such sad and shocking news Grandmabatty
Good afternoon lovely Kitcheners. It’s very cold here today, the heating went on for the first time this morning, but only for an hour. I’m not doing much today, had a very long lie in which I enjoyed very much!
I wonder if there’s a business opportunity for husbands’ wardrobe de-cluttering? I see I have 2 prospective customers already muse and soop
.
Blossoming When you have a spare afternoon, would you care to sort out Mr Soop's wardrobe? He had better not see what you take away. On the other hand, he won't miss anything. He has his top favourite garments. Some go back umpteen years and they are so right for him. However, there are an awful lot of "might come in handy" that clutter his wardrobe and leave me short of extra space.
