Oh, I’m feeling all cosy in that kitchen, LauraNorder! Just as well as although it’s been a lovely day, the temperature is dropping rapidly now. ?

Soop that sounds very good news and with the surgeon seeing so many patients, you must feel less alone with your problem, you know you’re not the only one.

On butt-dialling, I was astonished to receive a FaceTime call from my brother recently. He never phones me, last time was at the start of the first lockdown. It actually panicked me a bit as I couldn’t think why he’d be FTing me. Anyway, I answered and all I could hear was a swishing, scraping sound. I came to the conclusion that he was out on his push bike and had accidentally butt-dialled me.

I’ve had coffee out with a friend today, almost like normal times, and then had to collect a parcel from M&S. Dare I admit, I also took the opportunity of stocking up my freezer with a frozen turkey crown and some prepared veg. The checkout lady said I wasn’t the only one doing so.

Tomorrow I’m off to my very pregnant daughter’s for a couple of days. We’re babysitting in the evening so she and her Dh can go to see the new James Bond film. She’s booked aisle seats in case they need to leave quickly.

An unexpected change of plan here today as the window company who are replacing some misted up conservatory windows and fitting a new back door phoned to say they had a cancellation and could they come today. That was really good news as we thought we were going to have to wait until January. Good result all round as I’m now sitting in the conservatory and I can actually see the garden that we spend so long doing.

How lovely to get some sensible news, soop - and what a dear you are to properly update us. "Us" having been in something of a tizz and a flutter of anticipation since you set off to Glasgow!

You are being given the very best chance - probably better than you've had before - to have your case properly assessed by someone who has all the experience of this surgery and current treatment options at his fingertips. Such a very good idea, starting again, and with you under anaesthesia so much guesswork and ifs and ands can hopefully be ruled out, so that when he gives you his opinion it will be based on fact. And it's facts that you will need to make your own decision as to the way forward. You must feel very relieved because you have taken back control (sorry to sound like a tame version of that Johnson man) and in doing that you will hopefully be able to stop fretting and worrying and feeling very down about things. November will soon be here and all will be revealed. Well done you, and your wonderful caring sidekick, Mr Soop.
And meanwhile........there's tartan boots a'coming! Yay!

You must be all excited, Muse - and with a new haircut. You're going to have a lovely few days, especially now it seems that Mr M's leg problems are diminishing. Dreadful when you can't find a good hairdresser, NannyT. Keep going - I've resorted to stopping the odd person in the street or in a shop or restaurant before now, if I've thought they must have a good hairdresser. It's often possible that way to get a recommendation. ?

I never felt like getting up this morning, GrandmaB - I slept badly. However, I had the chance of a lunch somewhere pretty and it's such a lovely day and we had such a good time, that I'm glad I made the effort. Tonight I shall have an early night - all will be well (I'm telling myself). Photos tomorrow. Meanwhile I thought I'd introduce you to the Super-sized, Star of all Kittens. Meet young Cedric who is Grandmajean's Grandcat.
He is a baby Devon Rex belonging to her DS and family. (There is another, older and equally beautiful who I'm sure she'll introduce one day soon, and possibly with a better photograph than I have managed!). Meanwhile I thought that all us cat lovers could feast our eyes on his little loveliness. Hope this makes you smile, soop. He's apparently quite a little bruiser, so would doubtless have a lovely romp with Mr Sweetie Pie, given the opportunity!

Tartan boots sound excellent! Soop Do you ever have days where you just want to stay home? I felt like that this morning. However I got myself up and showered. I put (necessary) petrol in the car and visited mum. Today she was pleasant and happy but that can change in a second. Then I went to art class. I'm working on poinsettias and it's coming on nicely, and I started a single white lily today. I've done a dark grey background in oil for an autumn leaves one too. This afternoon I'm sewing. It's a nice, bright day too. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.

The tartan ankle boots were delivered this morning. They are smashing. Mr Soop has given them to me as a wedding anniversary gift. I shall wear them on Friday, the day we celebrate thirty three of the best years of my life. Naturally, he will take a photo.

I seem to have taken a lot of photos of fungi while dragon slaying in the garden today. I'm off to sort them out.

Good early afternoon dear you lovely lot. As per usual, you have been mega busy and I have much catching up to do.

I shall update you with news of yesterday's consultation with a very pleasant surgeon at Ross Hall.
He will need to start over again, as he has had no dealings with my case in the past. Last week alone, he performed over seventy procedures. In early November, I shall be admitted, have a serious enema, stay overnight and he will investigate the colon under a full anaesthetic. He will then know what can, or cannot be achieved with more surgery.
Throughout the night, I lay awake and considered the pros and cons of taking out equity to pay our bills. There is no escaping the fact that last ten years have been trying and distressing at times. However, I am eighty, I've had over a dozen operations. The consultant remarked on how cheerful I appeared in spite of it all. That's easy, I have a wonderfully supportive husband who knows and understands me.
I had unrealistic expectations when I entered the consulting room. I am now feeling happier for accepting the fact.
The cost for private surgery will need to be funded by equity release. However, if after the investigation, the chances of corrective surgery is "iffy", we shall make the final decision to close the record.

Good morning everyone. Fingers crossed for Soop. Bitterly cold here but brilliant sunshine. Have made pea and mint soup for lunch and chickpea, sweet potato and butternut squash curry for tea. Might make chapatis.
House looking very clean but that is because we aren't around Monday and Tuesdays as we decamp to Dds for the day (DH wfh there) Have cleaned bathroom. And a couple of washes. Making most of the breeze.

Haircut for me this afternoon, thank goodness. I am still trying to find the right hairdresser, even after two years.
DGS seemed fine this morning, with out headache so not covid! Phew!
