‘Evening All’.

We’ve had a lovely day. We hopped on the train to Los Boliches, (love it there) and walked up to Fuengirola for a tapas lunch in Volapie in the square. Then walked further on for another HOUR, turned round and all the way back to L.B. where I was grateful for a long sit down whilst we shared a bottle of wine and more tapas. Got home an hour ago. Sat on our balcony now tapping this out with a bottle of water.

All that walking and heat has meant I’ve given myself exercise induced vasculitis on my lower inner calves (also known as golfer’s rash apparently). Boy it’s itchy! And unattractive. Good job I’m not vain. I’ve plastered the affected skin in calamine lotion and it’s calming down now.

I’ve just caught up on over a week’s worth of kitcheners wise words and I still haven’t managed today’s but before I forget I wanted to send my very best wishes for Baggs daughter’s full and speedy recovery. And also concur in the general (I think) opinion that if at all possible soop you should have that operation. It’s the best possible reason for releasing equity in the house if you are able. My Mother had a retrocele and it made her last years absolutely miserable. This was 25 years ago and her doctor was less than sympathetic, thank goodness that times have mostly changed.

No more time to write tonight, I think we might have fish fingers and beans for tea in a couple of days when everyone has gone home.

Imogen has her appointment for the paediatrician on the 21st October, but DD is having the devil of a job organising a brain scan. I’ve suggested ringing the consultants secretary if no joy in the next week, see if they can sort it. I hate saying there have been no more seizures, just in case, picture is off her gorgeous hair.

So many kitcheners are busy. I've had two steady days to rebuild my energy bank. I felt like the duracell bunny slowly running out of steam last Saturday. Tomorrow we have two friends visiting for a couple of hours so I will relax even more. MrM too. He had a long dressing change today. I did 6 walks around the car park with Mya instead of the usual 3 or 4. Except for a few WhatApp chats we haven't actually seen these two for just over a year. Last we heard, they had split up. Pleased they are back together again.

A text from DS on Sunday?. He was just back from Germany overseeing a project. Very tired and was catching up on sleep. Hoping to hear about the completion date for his house soon.

I'm sat outside with glass of red, (with a big wrap around me) listening to the last of the bird songs. Robin has a loud song this evening.

I've quite a lot of Fascicularia bicolor plants in pots scattered about. This photo is the one on the table by me .

Just popping into the kitchen to say hello after a busy day

I’ve been to the gym for a splash around in the pool, then lunch with my friend and then food shopping at Tesco. DD2 has been on the phone just general chatting but poor DS rang to say he’d come off his bike yesterday and fractured his collarbone. I can’t go and see him as he’s in Switzerland but he sounded really upset as he can’t go into work and he feels that he’s letting people down - he’s a teacher and the students have exams coming up etc. I’ll send him a message later to see how he’s doing - hopefully some of his work can be done from home.

DH is making us something yummy to eat and I’m catching up on here!

A busy working day for me and Mr BA was allowed out for the day to inspect an engine - only been out a handful of times since the world turned upside down last March. Sar53 Although I have made an appointment with the colorectal surgeon, he has to decide what can be achieved with whatever surgery is available. It's just the start of the latest journey towards a resolution. No matter, I am feeling very optimistic.

I must start a new pussy cat portrait. I am wanting to do my best and have a finished painting by the end of the week. Please, may I ask you to be patient with me? Of course, you will. I am pushed for time and all that arty farty stuff. Therefore, if I appear to have forgotten about you, rest assured that I would never entertain such a notion. You are ALL very important peoples.

It was a lovely surprise. Dgs painted a butterfly at playgroup which was very unexpected as he's not been keen on any art stuff up til now. Needless to say,his mum is thrilled. Grandma is very proud. He tried salad leaves at lunch time too then was unfortunately spectacularly sick. I assume a leaf got stuck in his throat and an apple and some melon came back. We are being quiet just now and watching Bluey before heading to the garden.

We are looking after our grandson in Stafford today so a very early start?I have been into the garden and buried some coins for him to dig up? Its all about pirates here at the moment!

Woke up feeling very energetic and determined To Get Things Done. Now relaxing with laptop, Ddog and digestives. Three of my favourite things. There is a DD shaped hole in the house as she has returned "home". She knows this is home too.
Fabulous weather here and the temperature is to rise. Doors and windows open. Treated myself to some new houseplants from mail order nursery (is that the correct term?). Settling them in. Will buy some tulip/daffodil bulbs locally and fill the allotment with them. Ddog too keen on digging in the garden so safer to plant elsewhere. Broccoli soup and granary rolls made. Help yourselves. I had a very pleasant day and many thanks to all you lovely kitcheners for your regards. It culminated in a message during the night from one of my favourite crime writers in US and she's sending me a copy of her brand new book! That was unexpected. I know she's the real deal on twitter as she's blue ticked. Another present today from dd, dgs and sil. Dgs is at playgroup at the moment and I'm having a cuppa then I'm making fairy cakes, not cupcakes. I'll bring some to the kitchen.

We have had a pretty successful day and achieved quite a lot of tidiness in the garden. Then I did lots of ironing, followed by DH’s magnificent lamb curry and Vigil. Coo it’s exciting!

We embarked on stage 2 of clearing the garage today. It wasn’t really on my schedule but as I felt inspired to get on with it, I obeyed the call. We looked at the contents of a shelving unit and three quarters, if not more, of it is getting recycled/thrown out. The vhs video recorder is going to electricals and my two daughters’ old school work is being recycled with the paper collection. I had quite a bit of gardening gear - pots, netting, coco fibre pots, seed trays etc. Nowhere I know of will take them so I’m going to leave them at the garden waste area and hope someone will be glad of them.

The afternoon was broken up by a trip to get rid of all the accumulated glass, which our council doesn’t collect. There’s something very satisfying about lobbing bottles into a container and hearing a resounding crash. Someone has started up a home recycling service so from next month our glass will be collected, for £4pm.

Then we loaded up the car ready for the exciting trip to the dump tomorrow afternoon. We still have to book in advance to go, which is ridiculous as it’s never busy. The number of operatives has also doubled even though they are no longer allowed to help you with disposing of items. Even the entry system is automated! All they do is stand around watching and occasionally waving their arms about if you ask where a certain item should go.

As it was a nice afternoon, we also got to chat to neighbours as they did their gardens and so on, which was fun.

Good evening kitcheners. How positive you all are - it’s really heart warming to read everyone’s news. I’m carried along by the momentum and excitement of your booked consultation, soop. Brilliant! Like her, muse’s DD is finally receiving the medical care she justly deserves. Her clean bill of health bodes well. corner is recovering well and Dogsmms’s DDs now feel better. There are lots of celebrations - a new baby, a happy birthday girl ? for whom a special birthday poem was penned by Grandmafrench and a new bride on a mini moon. It’s a job keeping up with you all! ? Please don’t be offended if I haven’t mentioned you.
After a busy weekend with DGdog who has been indulged with lots of long walks and almost involved me in an altercation with seven hissing swans yesterday, I’m having a rest.

Urmstongran thank you for your wishes. I was talking to my aunt about the very strict lockdown in Spain last year. They were stuck for a number of months and had taken their dog with them so flying was out of the question. They ended up driving from the south of Spain to the centre of Scotland. It was hard going for them. But they knew they had to get back.

We are on the homeward strait now for flying back next Friday to Manchester. I cannot complain after 13 glorious weeks out here.

Your mention of our severe Spanish State of Emergency lockdown last year made me a bit teary GrandmaFrench you remembered it all just right. Seems surreal looking back now how we got through all those weeks without feeling claustrophobic in this tiny apartment. I don’t think I could do it again.

I mentioned it to Himself today. He said I had to recall how scared we all were with an unknown virus and no vaccine. Plus the government here only announced restrictions for two weeks ahead - and then kept extending them. We didn’t know when we were locked in that first night (scary not to be allowed on the streets ^at all^) that it would last for nine weeks. I think I would’ve cried and panicked - had I known in advance.

Back to full function today, well as much as Sunday’s ever are! Faffed about in the garden, ordered some bulbs for the garden then we went to the pub, MrJ will return in a while, I’m sorting dinner. We won some chicken in the meat draw, always a bit of rivalry when it’s drawn, we seem to do quite well.
I went to M&S food hall this morning and bought a bottle of festive gin liqueur for DD as one of her presents, it’s pretty with glitter. Not my thing, but it’s not for me, it was busy, some people seem to do a week’s food shop in there, bit beyond us.
muse I’ve just taken the one tomato plant out, ? for the rest, peppers are good and wonky cucumber.
