JaneJudge oooh thank you for the link to buying vouchers on line. This is such a great idea especially now the silly season is near. I think i will buy them an M&S one as i know they do shop in the foodhall sometimes and he does love fresh cream cakes. She is dieting at the moment but i am sure some lovely fruit or fresh veggies would appeal.
There are various places online that will deliver afternoon tea. I ordered a Devon cream tea which travelled all the way from there to Essex and arrived in perfect condition. I was sent a different one for Mothering Sunday.
Maybe something like that if your neighbours don't go out much and if you don't want to put a hamper together.
Hamper sounds like a good idea, I make my very helpful neighbour an apple pie and mince pies once in a while, he lives alone so appreciates home baking.
If you know what kind of foods they like you could make them a hamper. It’s much better value than buying one. I’ve often found a basket in a charity shop, washed it thoroughly and turned it into a fresh fruit hamper for someone poorly. You can find a tutorial on the internet for wrapping it in cellophane and adding a bow.
An M&S voucher? They can then buy food/wine in the food hall or spend it on something for their house or themselves, whatever they wish? (Or any other supermarket voucher) You can buy them online now
I have had so much practical help from a neighbour recently especailly in the garden, doing stuff i physcially can not do. I have tried to get him to take money for it but he refuses. What do you think would be a good idea to show my appreciation to both him and his wife. I did think about vouchers for a meal but they actually dont go out very often as they have a large family and it seems they go to each others homes very frequently.
