Congratulations, but understand your feelings at the same time. I don’t quite know what to say, as I don’t really have experience of my children being so far away. When one of my grandchildren was born, my daughter’s first, she was living 300 miles away, but moved close to us when my granddaughter was three weeks old.
At least everything went well, which is the main thing. Would you be able to visit? Go for long trips? One advantage of having one child is you can put all your focus on him/ her. You’re not tied to other family members in the same way. Try to stay positive, and think of all the things you can do.
