Me too Maw. I missed the technical bake ciabatta section on Tuesday, and had to wind it back to watch it! Often fall asleep during a programme, so I always make sure to record programmes I really want to watch.

8.30.pm I start to flag, usually, there are the odd exceptions.
I go to bed and then perk up again and read, do GN, puzzles, but the tv makes me sleepy.
I never fall asleep downstsairs, I would hate that, having to waken and drag myself upstairs.

I try to go to bed around the same time every night. That certainly doesn't guarantee a regular sleeping pattern though. I always seem to manage one solid five hour deep satisfying sleep and then the rest is completely random. I don't mind and just go with the flow since I've absolutely no timetable to adhere to. Just lately cat napping has been added to my programme. New to me but totally acceptable.

Another night owl and general insomniac. I get by on about four hours sleep total and often don't bother going to bed. I keep a single duvet slung across the back of a long sofa, read until my eyes are tired, pull the duvet over me and am usually awake again an hour later. Make a cup of tea, read, repeat. I figure it's my body's natural rhythm now and go with it rather than toss and turn in bed.

Thank goodness for catch up TV and radio. smile

Thank goodness for the rewind button I say. Otherwise I’d never know whodunnit.

I’ve only once, as an adult, fallen asleep downstairs. Usually we’re both in bed at 10, read for about half an hour, sleep. If MrJ is working, up with the alarm 6:30/45, other days between 7:30 and 8.
The negative is I can’t sleep on planes, MrJ can sleep anywhere.

After years and years of getting up at 6am when the children were at home, DH and I always wake around then. We drink tea, watch the news, chat and catch up with social media until 7.30 then we get up.

Consequently, we are in bed by 10pm at the latest.

I very rarely fall asleep in the evening but DH rarely sees the end of any TV programme. grin

I'm like merlotgran. I read my book until after midnight. I have tried going to bed earlier, but I just don't sleep. I rise between 8 and 9am.
Usually make a couple of trips to the bathroom during the night.
I never fall asleep in front of the tv.

A combination of fairly busy days and not sleeping well means I doze at random times throughout the day. As soon as I’m in and sat on the sofa with my feet up ??.

That refreshes me enough to watch favourite programmes on playback in the evening.

Can’t sleep now hence my late post.

I’m a night owl so if I go to bed early I read until well past midnight and rarely wake up before 7.30am.

If I ‘drop off’ in front of the telly it’s usually at the end of the six o’clock news and the music to the One Show wakes me up.

I love my sleep so if I were to wake up at 5am I’d nip out to the loo hoping I could get back to sleep again. ?

Same here I can’t watch TV without napping. I was thinking perhaps it’s medical, sugar, thyroid, sleep apnea, then decided it must be just an age thing. And I am a morning lark.

I’ve long given up trying to be a night owl. I’m ready to relax in bed by 9.00pm. I generally wake between 5.00 and 6.00 am. I don’t sleep in the daytime and lead a busy life most days. DH is a night owl and is rarely in bed before 2.30 am. We’ve just learned to accept each other’s habits most of the time.?

Yes, very often lately, due to a full stomach and a sense of boredom - I just drift off for half an hour or so. When I really am tired and settle in bed, usually about 1 am, I only sleep for four hours!

I know TV these days can be pretty boring, but I can rarely make it past 8 or 9 without falling asleep. I completely missed the final task of this week’s “Bake Off” for instance
In my defence I am often awake at 5 in the morning and have read the paper, done the (easy) crossword and GransNet before 8 because I can’t get back to sleep .
My father was a night owl too and it drove Mum mad that he would fall asleep in front of the TV but refuse to “give up” and go to bed early.
I have just woken up half way through Alexander Armstrong’s very interesting programme on Iceland but don’t remember it starting.
Anyone else?
(I’ll take Rosie out for her bedtime walk now)
