So the email has come and I clicked the link and booked it in for the end of the month . But I'm a tad nervous about it. I had no problems with pfyzer vaccines but just wondering if we really need the booster. Is this now an annual thing does anyone know, like the flu jab.
Has anyone had any issues or no issues even.
Well said Nightsky2.

You're all having yourselves injected multiple times with something rushed through and people still get covid and still pass it on!
Yes and it’s passed on a lot of the time by people like you who refuse to have the vaccination because you listen to all that c… about it being rushed through.
My grandson was taken to have his vaccination by his NHS consultant mum during the week and was offered the flu jab as well while he was there. She could tell you a thing or two about Covid that might just get you to change your mind, that’s if you’d listen but I doubt you would because you know better than everyone else.
My grandson, despite DD doing everything possible to protect him, caught covid before mask wearing was reintroduced at his school and just before he was due to be vaccinated. Thankfully he had very mild symptoms but has been suffering from headaches, anosmia and brain fog since returning to school. I’m terrified that he might be suffering from long covid, especially as our family wanted mask wearing etc to continue. If only he’d been vaccinated before he returned to school…
Children need to be protected by the vaccine. I would hate my grandchild to be infected and suffer from long covid.

Barmeyoldbat then you think it's acceptable to gamble with the health of children to shield much older people?
And your evidence for this statement.........? Is that in the same realms of fantasy as your other posts? There is no gamble, children get Covid, some develop long Covid, their education is compromised, their future is compromised. Will you ever wake up to this is a SERIOUS pandemic!?
There* is ...

Vaccinating children isn't gambling with their health. Their is evidence to show that they are at greater risk of serious harm from Covid than any vaccine.
Whatever the source of your information, it's nonsense.

Rosie51 absolute nonsense, a vaccine for a virus that most children wouldn't even know they had!
Tell that to my grandson who is suffering right now! And to the children left with long Covid.
I get that you don't want the vaccine. You don't have one scientific fact to back your prejudice but it is entirely your choice. Your exposure to the disease will likely be limited by those of us who see the bigger picture and have been vaccinated, protecting your health as well as our own.
Maybe not an illness they would know they had BUT an illness that can passed on to anyone, including yourself!

Where are you getting your information from?
Sorry, but what you're claiming is nonsense.

Its absolutely appalling that children who are at hardly any risk are being vaccinated against scientific advice
They're not being vaccinated against scientific advice. The scientific advice recognises the risks, but the balance is still in favour of vaccination. Where are you getting your information from?

Although I understand the point that medical chap you heard was making Alegrias1, I have my doubts that many would listen.
Possibly some anti vaxxers could be persuaded to change their minds if the scientific facts were explained to them, but I fear that more, as we have seen on here, have been so taken in by the idiotic views circulating online that NOTHING would persuade them to be vaccinated.
Having said that anything is worth a try isn’t it?
I agree JE, anything's worth a try. I think he was really talking about people who were nervous about it, or didn't think it was important, not the out-and-out deniers.

Did you read my post? The benefit to children of one dose of vaccine is evidenced. The extra benefit of a second dose is at present not sufficient to make mass vaccination of this cohort of value. The practice is entirely science based!!

Lucca I'm not the one blindly following
Some are blindly following instruction to get vaccinated. Some are blindly following the antivax output and not getting vaccinated. The vast majority are listening to the evidence and making a decision, which for most will be to get vaccinated. Anybody who has read the science, and understands that never before in our entire history has such money and lab hours been thrown at a problem, will conclude that this vaccine is as safe as any other vaccine we've ever utilised. Nothing in this world is 100% safe 100% of the time, not even your everyday painkiller. It's a matter of risk/benefit analysis and the vaccine wins hands down. Of course it's still up to the individual to make their own decision, but I wish it was after very careful examination of the data not hearsay.
Exactly

Sorry but you are. I’m doing what is sensible and community minded and having heard the science. You have put forward no valid reason for objecting.
Not against scientific device. That's not true.
Its absolutely appalling that children who are at hardly any risk are being vaccinated against scientific advice
Just to add, that's why children will only get one vaccination at present. With one dose the risk/benefit is in favour of benefit. With a second jab there is not enough benefit to justify mass vaccination of this age group. Some individuals will obtain benefit and receive a second dose.

Biscuitmuncher how do feel about vaccinations for say yellow fever if you were going on holiday, or needing a tetanus jab. Millions of us have had a vaccination s with no problems and are now going for boosters. Do you think if we had any worries we would be doing this. Just think what could be worse, catching Covid of course.

But two jabs obviously haven't made you confident
Or perhaps they have instilled confidence, that’s why we want a third?
We have a flu vaccination every year don’t we?
We don’t do that because we have no faith in it
