Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, but its dry here in Brackley this morning.
Plans for the day , after breakfast some TV , followed by bus to Buckingham and then onto Bicester so I can have a coffee plus , before returning home on the bus, as Buckingham has its first weekend of charter fair , it alters things .
Later maybe a Chinese Take Away .
Take Care,
Mick

Good afternoon, Mick, Anniebach and all.
We went for our Covid boosters this morning, and went early as parking can be a problem at times. Then had a coffee in our smart new-ish Plaza. Had to smile at a chap who sat on a wet chair, outside, came into the cafe and grabbed one of the blankets provided if you get chilly. He wiped his wet trousers, and put the blanket back in the hamper. Luckily the staff had seen him and were smiling, but did remove the blanket.
Also saw a lady who had been at the nursery school when DS2 was there. He is now 46, but she remembered him and his constant chatter.
Put some washing out in the sun, and will have a lazy afternoon, knitting and probably watching some TV.
Thinking of GrandMattie, Harrigran and all who are having a difficult time .
Have a good day one and all.

Good morning. Sneaking in at the last minute before noon from a damp and dark coastal West Sussex.

Going to DD this afternoon to finish emptying her compost bin - I started it weeks ago and then other things came in the way. I usually do all the emptying of the bin and restarting the heap as she doesn’t like dealing with it until it’s all thoroughly rotted down!

Thoughts with all struggling, one way and another.

Good morning everyone from a dry and cloudy North Wales. I have been out for my usual walk.
I had a lovely lunch with my son on his 53rd birthday. I feel so old! We sat out by the lake and it wasn't too cold. Good going for October.
Wishing everyone a good day today and thoughts with those who are not well or have worries.

aggie Sat 16-Oct-21 11:42:10

Good Morning everyone, it’s not a bad day here , we did have a shower , but I see washing on the line , so someone is optomistic

Good morning and I’m late today. I decided to do the weekly shopping at 8 o’clock, as I was up and raring to go.
Back home for breakfast and then over the fields with the pooch. . It’s fairly warm out there.

Our part of Essex seems to be in total shock and sadness this morning over the terrible murder of Sir David Amess . His poor family and friends will be devastated. ?

I’m hoping DD will come for lunch tomorrow. We’ve had a bit of a fall out and haven’t seen each other for a few weeks. Ive been cross with her and I’m sure, she with me , but life is too short to carry this separation on any longer. ?. Mums and daughters! ?

Wishing everyone a Good Day and keep safe. ?

Today I'm a bit sad because my granddaughter who has been over here from Ireland on a week's visit is leaving today.
But it has been so wonderful to see her, so I am blessed.

Good morning Mick and all from a dull Lancashire coast.
Tired today after a busy week out a lot and singing practices for Xmas etc. Wish I had more energy, plus the annoying habit I have that if there is something on early morning with a busy day ahead, I don’t sleep, even though I tell myself I need a good nights sleep.
Friend coming over today and will stay overnight. Cooking a chicken casserole. It’s a good opportunity to use up some bits in the freezer I don’t like myself?
Thoughts to harrigran and grandMattie.
Card painted for friend’s birthday.

Blossoming Sat 16-Oct-21 10:30:46

Good morning Mick and all. It’s cool and cloudy here in Lancashire. My poorly foot is not as painful and I slept well, so should be OK for tonight’s party. I shall mostly be sitting down. Have a good day all.

Mapleleaf Sat 16-Oct-21 09:53:43

Good morning all.
Just a flying visit today. Weather dry but cloudy and cool here in South Yorkshire.
Have a good day and take care.

mumofmadboys Sat 16-Oct-21 09:37:19

Good morning all! Have been for a cycle ride -about 11 miles- first time in a few weeks so good to be cycling again. Wondered whether to make the Christmas cake today. Hope all have a good day and special thoughts for Harrigran.

Nannytopsy Sat 16-Oct-21 09:29:44

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Suffolk is grey and cool so far after a beautiful day yesterday. We were woken st 2.30 by DGD and 5.30 by DGS who thought he was going to sit on our bed with the lights on and read his book! I don’t think so! He soon dropped off again ?.
I have some gardening planned for them today - planting things in our “hanging gardens” which DGS scrambles over like a mountain goat.
? for Harrigran and thoughts for the Amess family down the road in Essex.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Good morning from Shropshire. There’s a chill in the air this morning for the first time.I said to DH should I put the heating on and he said I think we should be able to manage until after we have been away at the end of the month??

We are hoping for a quiet couple of days. We’ve had a busy couple of weeks with extra childcare not helped by the wretched virus we have had and are both feeling tired.Hopefully back to normal this week??

DGD is staying but she is a tonic!keeps us entertained and like Mary’s Dollie arrives with a plan!

grandMattie, sounds like you’re having a lovely couple of days with your grandson??

Hope the medication kicks in soon GG and yes shocking news from your corner of Essex.

Thoughts with harri,GrannySomerset and all with illness, worries and challenges.

Have the best day you can everyone??

Mollygo Sat 16-Oct-21 09:04:00

Good morning Mick and all.
I thought I might venture on here to say it’s fine but grey in this corner of the world.
Today might be the day the engineer comes to fix our boiler. We’ve had text messages announcing so many visits that haven’t happened, and I didn’t think they worked weekends so was surprised to get the message this morning.
GG13 I hope your medication begins to work soon. Painful nights are awful and so tiring too. I miss the days when going to bed with a painkiller meant the pain would be gone by morning!

Grammaretto Sat 16-Oct-21 08:59:36

Good morning Mick and all from the Scottish Borders. Dreary looking so far but we had a glorious sunny day yesterday so I can't complain but can't plan either.
My covid booster jag this morning. I had the flu vax last Saturday. I know how to spend my weekends!
This afternoon the community shop is turning mountains of apples into juice and I shall be helping watching with a sore arm.
They/we have managed to acquire a super looking press.
So now I will be washing/sterilising bottles.

I was shocked by the news of your MP's murder yesterday GG

I am glad that Mattie and Harrigran have families to support them.

My DS is heading to the south coast of England for their October holidays. The teenaged DGC have never been before so it's quite an adventure.
When 6yr old DGD came home after the long drive to the Isle of Skye she said "I never want to go so far ever again"
Rest up, Marydoll and shout at the computer! smile

Good morning from a bright Essex by the sea.

As GG13 has said a very sad day here in our corner of Essex yesterday. RIP Sir David.

We are off to DH's eldest daughters later for a belated birthday meet up. I expect there will be cake.

Thinking of Harri and GM.

Have the best Saturday you can everyone xxx

Anniebach Sat 16-Oct-21 08:54:11

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

EkwaNimitee Sat 16-Oct-21 08:51:32

Good morning Mick and everyone from a greyish Carlisle. Yesterday was glorious blue sky and sun all day. Although it was very nippy first thing, later you could feel the strong warmth of the sun even now half way through October.
Today is the fifth day of road-making. I was surprised to see the developer's men roll up at 8am, they don't usually work Saturdays. Noisy heavy machinery and loud music...so that's a weekend lie-in spoilt for my working neighbours. Yesterday the unfortunate Tesco delivery man had to tote my baskets down the road as he couldn't park outside the door. I'm staying home today, there's no possibility of the car getting off the drive at the moment. I'm hoping for a gardening day as it seems likely to be dry.
I hope you all enjoy the day and any troubles are eased.

kittylester Sat 16-Oct-21 08:46:24

Morning all from North Leicestershire where it is cloudy but sounds slightly better than Brighton dragonfly.grin

Trip to the florist for me while DH nips into town to feed DS1's cat. DS1 has gone to North Wales with his friends from University who are all celebrating their 50 birthdays this year.

This afternoon we are playing Crazy Golf with Persie. I hope she enjoys it! I hope she wants to watch Strictly too!!

Loving thoughts to Harri and everyone else with woes.

Greyduster Sat 16-Oct-21 08:37:07

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Every time you mention Chinese takeaway Mick, I’m envious. So long since we had one! There was a lovely sunrise this morning, which I hope heralds a clear day ahead. My loopy DD and her loopy friend are running in a twenty mile Peak District fell race today. I looked at the route and went weak at the knees at the thought of it. They’ll need all their reserves that’s for sure. Nothing much doing here today. DH is self isolating prior to a medical procedure next week, so I am too.
Wishing you all the best day possible.

Stilllearning Sat 16-Oct-21 08:36:22

Morning from S Lanarkshire, rather dull but calm outside. 6 degrees.

You must be proud of your thoughtful grandson grandMattie, a little loving help for you just now.

My two youngest grandchildren were staying with their auntie, DD4, last night and tonight, and I am joining them this afternoon. They were dropped off by their parents on their way home from a week’s holiday which took in Legoland and Harry Potter so a great October break for them. I’m looking forward to being with them and hearing all about it.

Good morning to my friend who reads but doesn’t post and who will be reading this from her flat in Ibiza this morning!

Wishing everyone a good day, thoughts to harrigran and GrannySomerset and everyone else needing special support???

dragonfly46 Sat 16-Oct-21 08:27:53

Good morning from an overcast Brighton. I was woken at 6 by a little six year old body coming to snuggle in with me asking when it was morning.

Out for brunch this morning then we are babysitting while Mum and Dad go to a party.

What a comfort that your DGS was bright yesterday.
Harrigran you are in my thoughts.

Marydoll Sat 16-Oct-21 08:26:01

Good morning all from Glasgow, quite chilly here. Yesterday morning, I had to scrape the frost from my car, I didn't expect that!

A gentle day for me today, another restless night. My pain levels are very high and I am exceedingly grumpy! It's probably best to lie low!!?
I have spent the last hour trying to reboot our Internet connect, which hasn't helped my mood!

GM, you sound as if you had a lovely day yesterday.
Glad that GrannyGravy managed to get some medical help yesterday and thinking of Harri and all who have so much to deal with, find the strength to get through today.

I will now go back and read the rest of the posts, which I started reading over an hour ago!
Wishing you all a pleasant day!

ginny Sat 16-Oct-21 08:21:34

Good morning from a grey N. Bucks but it is supposed to improve.
Some food shopping this morning and then to pick up DDs dog. Will take him to the exercise field and then to ours . They will collect him later this evening.
DH will also collect MIL and she will have dinner with us.
Hope Saturday is a good day for all with a smile along the way.

BlueSapphire Sat 16-Oct-21 08:19:53

Good morning everyone from a bright Northampton. Hope it stays like this as I have a walk to and from the surgery for my flu jab this afternoon, and it is 40 minutes each way! I thought about getting the bus but there is not one at a suitable time. I shall call in the newsagents on the way home and pay my paper bill, then pop in the local supermarket for some cat food, as the little madams are turning their noses up at the one they are on now!

Such a lovely sunny day yesterday; had a good mooch around the shops, stocked up with face stuff and hair care, then had coffee in M&S. Went into Sainsbury's and managed to get the stuff that was missing from my order on Thursday.

Spent an hour or two in the garden after lunch cutting back an enormous buddleia, the cut the back grass, as rain is forecast next week.

Watched a film on tv in the evening - The Graduate - can't believe I hadn't seen it when it came out in the late 1960s! Then a documentary about Simon and Garfunkel - the two programmes went together really well.

Wishes to all for a good day. RIP Sir David Amess.

Good morning from a cloudy but warm Black Country. Yesterday turned into a gloriously sunny day.

Over to DD's late afternoon to pick up the girls, take them over to Mums and go for a meal at her local pub. DD and SIL are out for a meal with friends for his birthday. I will stay over at their house and return Sunday.

Enjoy being with your DGS grandMattie we have to treasure these golden moments.

It is lovely that you have your family for some support harri, my love and thoughts are with you.

Wishing you all a good Saturday
