As a former Bar/Restaurant owner I would say leave the glasses where they are, as Zoejory says it just causes congestion especially around the bar area. Also at the door, part of the price you paid for your drink will include service. Do not worry about it let them do their jobs.

Always leave the glasses outside. My nephew who works in a bar expects the staff to pick up the glasses outside. Could get problematic if people are wandering in and out with glasses when the staff are busily doing their job.

Best to have plastic glasses outside. Then there is no risk to others. But then ours is a football club bar.

Thank you. I have been having anxiety attacks about this for 2 years. Mainly the what if sort, what if they fell over and smashed and someone got hurt, sort of things.

Yes. People bringing in glasses is a really lovely extra if possible but not at all a necessity. Hope you made it to the bus! ?

Don't bars/pubs employ people to round up empties?

Newatthis Thu 21-Oct-21 12:24:38

If there are tables outside then that's OK. It's the staff's job to collect them.

Absolutely.

Yes. But not under usual circumstances

Your outside a pub having a drink and your bus turns up. Is it ok to leave your empty glasses on the table ?
