Good evening from South Leicestershire.
Busy one today - early swim, followed by return home to do accounts and a bit of laundry (livin' the dream). GC #2 is staying so took him out to choose from the 'bins' in Aldi. Ended up with a pumpkin to carve out too (second one this year as GC #3 did one last week). Next it was plan, prepare and deliver home tutoring while DH took GC#2 to see "Ron's Gone Wrong". Then a dash out at 7pm to friend's home to babysit her 5 yr old and 1 yr old - the latter asleep, thankfully, and the former only just gone up!
I'd like to say tomorrow will be quieter but I have GC#3 + 4 to visit, the doctors later and two more tutees early evening. And GC#2 to spend some quality time with!
It's all go being a Gran! x

Good Morning Monday 25th October 2021
(42 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark , but its dry outside in Brackley , today a quiet day after the weekend with sister and brother in law .
Ended up in Wetherspoons in Bicester yesterday for breakfast or early lunch , with my brother as well , originally my brother went to Brewers Fayre in Bicester ,and that was fully booked for breakfasts ,mind you spoons was also busy , must be a trend these days .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning from a sunny W Kent, off to visit DD2 and GC a rare luxury now.
Best wishes to all bravely wading through life's ups and downs.
Good morning Mick and everyone from bright but showery Carlisle.
A cool breezy yesterday didn't stop me gardening. I've planted all my bulbs and completed lifting turf to form a border down one side of the garden. Now I want to deep dig it and mix the original clay soil below with the sandy stuff above imported by the developer. Then there's 2 more sides of the garden to do....
At breakfast, I found Tesco were back on again so I have done my order which I usually do on a Saturday. This may throw my ageing brain out of gear as it's used to doing certain things on certain days of the week. On Saturdays that would not be much and would generally involve phone conversation and extra wine and coffee! So I must now disappear and get on with some housework and convince myself it's Monday...
Have a good day everyone if possible.
Good morning from sunny Sefton by the sea.
A swim and aerobics are on my agenda today. Those scones sound good PollyTickle, especially if served with clotted cream from Cornwall.
Thinking of you all and sending ???
Next time you visit Beaumaris Hollysteers, try afternoon tea by the roaring fire at the Bulkeley Arms Hotel. The scones are divine.
It's the other side of the island to us but worth the drive.
Good morning Mick and all from a bright Lancashire coast.
I so enjoyed my day trip to North Wales yesterday on the coach, apart from someone COUGHING regularly a row or so behind on the other side. Felt irritated. That’s what life is like now of course.
It was a mix of sunshine and showers and what a beautiful country we live in! Through the impressive Llanberis Pass and time in Beaumaris etc. Will book another trip soon.
Today to mundane matters, booking a plumber, house stuff etc.
Thoughts to GrannySomerset (I have a ‘back’ and know what it’s like and hope harrigran is finding some strength through this difficult time?
A late good morning from Giffnock where the sky is clear blue now. I stayed over after returning youngest GS as I child mind post school here on a Monday. I loved having the wee one but am still shattered and just woke up half an hour ago! I feel the responsibility more as I get older and didn’t really sleep when it was just him and me. I’m a total catastrophiser and so wish I wasn’t.
Family here had a piano delivered here last evening, acquired from a friend’s parents who are downsizing. 9 year old is currently going for violin lessons and six year old says he wants to learn piano. We’ll see, they were last heard arguing about what they would call their band!
I’ll start getting on with the day now, an ironing beckons, SiL off to work and daughter working from home so I’m glad to be able to help a little.
?GrannySomerset and good wishes to all???
The late ,much lamented, Victoria Wood, said if sprouts weren’t on in September you had left it too late.
Good morning all, nice quiet bright morning here , but everything is damp ,
I am trying to get through too the Doctor , I rang at 8.30 and was no50 in the queue , by the time it counted down to 10 my house phone ran out of battery so now the mobile is on speaker and countdown continues !
So sorry to hear about your back pain GrannySomerset I hope the Physio can help
Back to listening to the phone , I am now no 2 !
Good morning from a bright and sunny Oxfordshire, still a bit chilly though, Winter Draws (Drawers) on (and will soon be coming out of storage.)
Housework today, much neglected due to still having a cough and cold from almost 2 weeks ago, it’s about time it left us.
It must have been nice Mick to have a fairly normal visit from your family, Mr Oops tries to go out with nephew to Breakfast once a week, it hasn’t happened recently but when everyone is better it will restart.
Hope all have a good day and a hug for those who aren’t so chipper.
Oh I love brussel sprouts
Good morning Mick and all from a lovely bright and sunny Isle of Anglesey. We’ll be able to cancel the building of the ark after all.
Breakfast out with your family Mick sounds like fun. It does seem to be a popular trend, Eastenders and Corrie have a lot to answer for.
I’m sorry to hear about your back troubles GrannySomerset and hope someone can help you pdq. Has the new bed helped you to manage at all?
Hoping Harrigran is surrounded by family and friends, so sad for her.
Glad to hear the love birds are enjoying time together again but on this side of the channel this time.
Yes Beechnut, put those sprouts on a low heat right after Halloween.
Well I’m off now to continue the leaf raking, lots of mulch for next year.
Hope everyone manages to seek out that random pink flamingo ?
Good morning everyone from North Wales. It is dry and sunny for now but we are forecast rain this week.
My GS is settling in well now at university. He was homesick for a week or so but has made a lot of friends and his mum only sees him when he brings his washing home.
Have a good day and thoughts with anyone who is not well or sad.
So sorry to hear you are suffering GrannySomerset it is the last thing you need. I hope you get help today.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Mick I’m glad you had a good weekend with your family. I think lots of people like eating breakfast out these days! The sun is shining in South Yorkshire and we may try a little walk this morning if DH feels up to it. Yesterday was tiring; I invited DD and the boys to lunch and I had no idea how much it would take out of us both (even though the Little Lord of Chaos insisted on being my sous chef! “I think this sauce needs more lemon juice Nanny.” “No it absolutely doesn’t - leave it alone!!” Too late!?♀️). Anyway, I was fast asleep by nine o’clock.
Hope everyone has the best day possible.
Lovely visit from DD and husband but am suffering from serious back trouble. Have a call in to excellent local physio and hoping she can see me today because everything I do hurts and DH, who is rather better, needs so much help. If I don’t hear by lunchtime I shall have to try elsewhere because some relief other than painkillers is essential.
Sorry to spread such gloom on a lovely sunny morning but I had to moan somewhere!
Good morning from dull Leicestershire.
Managed to cut the front lawn yesterday - cutting grass in late October is mad and it could be 18 degrees this week so it will keep growing!
Still looking after the invalid DH - this cold has knocked him for six.
Thinking of all with troubles and of course Harrigran.
Oops posted too soon.
Sar53 your poor GDs I hope they are not too poorly, safe drive home.
Well I am going back to the gym today, slowly as still on steroids, then home to prepare Cottage Pie for dinner and iron bedding.
Keep safe and well folks ?♀️?
Good morning from Shropshire.
Our new washing machine is being delivered today. After Marydoll’s experience DH will be way watching the installers like a hawk! After that I will start on the laundry mountain?
Have the best day you can and thoughts to all with sadness and worries??
Morning Mick and all
I can sympathise regarding house buying/selling, DD’s new home is six weeks into the process (cash purchase no chain) not looking like she will be moving this side of Christmas. They are with us until then, good most of the times but a 6yr old and a 21 month …
Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s looking grey and damp again.
No idea what today holds. I did a fair amount of cleaning yesterday so won’t be doing that today, dog walking as always and perhaps a bit of browsing through recipes to see if inspiration strikes for meals this week.
Still thinking of harri.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning all from a sunny Suffolk coast. I hope it stays that way as DS1 and family are arriving for a few days and they generally have bad whether when they visit.?. The girls have tested negative and are now on half term, so all should be well ?.
Littlest Gd had her first ballet ‘show’ yesterday and Dd sent me a short video. So sweet.! They were all perfectly in time and well practiced. Such concentration on all their little faces. Adorable. ?.
Not sure what our plans are for the next few days. We will walk the dogs along the beach and probably visit local places where the girls love to go. I know Ds and DIL will just be happy to ‘chillax’ . We’ll have fish and chips this evening and go out for lunch tomorrow, so not much catering to do.?.
Wishing you all a peaceful day.????
Happy half term to all grandchildren . Hope the families going away for a break have a lovely time.
Congratulations to your DD Glammagran
No plans really but AC and families all are off work and school this week so no doubt they will have some outings planned.
Have a good day Gransnetters
Good morning all from dry Harrogate
Yesterday did go to church and did some baking when I got home then a nothingness day
Today I will be chasing up my COVID booster. It seems to be a bit of a chaotic service here!
I also will have to do a small supermarket shop, my DD2 has asked me to do some baking for DGS birthday next Sunday, so shall have to get cracking. It’s to have a Jack and the Beanstalk theme!!! DGS is daft on that fairytale and tells people his name is Jack! (It’s Elijah) he’s a little character!!
Have a good day all
