Dirty linen in covid times

We arrived at a rented holiday house yesterday afternoon and there were 2 big laundry bags (x 8 people) of dirty linen, including towels, in the hall waiting to be collected.
We contacted the agency at 9 am this morning and again at midday because the dirty laundry is still here. My husband has just picked it all up and put it outside the door.
In this day of everyone trying to be careful and clean, it is certainly poor service. The house was close on £1,000 per week to rent.

Good move, putting it outside. You just need to check who takes it. Not good service at all considering how much rent you’re paying.
Enjoy your holiday.

That’s a disgrace at the best of times Josianne but during covid it is very wrong.
I would inform them that you have left it outside for collection and if it’s stolen it is their responsibility.
Hopefully a full apology and at least a bottle of wine will be given.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Is the rest of the cottage clean, with fresh linen for you? It seems strange that that would have been done...but the dirty linen left behind.

I think I’d be negotiating a new rent!

Thank you. I've had my little rant and all sorted now. The laundry company is apparently separate from the cleaners. They came round after we told them we couldn't be responsible for the linen being outside in the rain!
My concern was the covid issue with other people's dirty bed sheets and towels lying round in the house we are in for 30 hours. Hopefully we won't have picked up anything.
And the sun came out this afternoon!
