Good morning one and all I do like these blackout curtains however the daylight is beginning to peek round the corner is it time to get up do you think?
Must get a shower this morning my jammies are needing to run into the washing machine but himself won’t put it on until he sees a dry day ahead. The silly man can use the dryer but he’s not fully trained on its use just yet. We got told off from the washing machine engineer for not hanging the dripping towels outside to part dry before using the dryer. He says that’s why we broke it.
Let the clothes lie in wait for a drying day who cares?
I’m expecting the trick and treaters tonight what fun that’ll be they’ll probably just stand there until prompted but I don’t mind, children can be very shy with strangers.
Have a good Halloween Sunday everyone have a little fun hope you’ve adjusted your clocks. My internal clock works just fine thank you.

Good Morning Sunday 31st October 2021
(47 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dark morning , with wind and rain here in Brackley .
My trip out yesterday did not go to plan , as the Buckingham bus was not on time ,so I went direct to Bicester , went to my regular cafe and had a Breakfast bap , and saw the female staff dressed in Halloween costume .
Got home , and in post the 2022 Holiday brochure from the coach firm I go with , plenty of choice in it .
Today, will be a day of relax and watch TV and readjust back to GMT timings .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning Mick and all from a very wet Anglesey where pushing the boat out is taking on a whole new meaning.
Enjoy browsing that brochure Mick , good to make plans and have a trip or two to look forward to.
Hope those testing positive for covid are not too ill, fingers crossed for mild symptoms and fast recovery.
Hope you see your GP soon Ash and are able to be treated and good health be restored.
Hope the family are still looking after you Harrigran.
Much awe and respect to you grandMattie.
Enjoy your lunch with Beechnutella Beechnut, hope the fella comes too.
We are off to lunch with son number 3, our lovely daughter-in-law and the two little ones. Early birthday celebration for almost seven year old.
We had a trip to the mainland yesterday, bought some new clothes in a larger size than ever before, oh dear. Only the second time we’ve been in to big shops since Feb 2020. Masks on in Wales thankfully, felt as safe as could be. Not shielding but remaining cautious as infections still rising.
Thanks for lots of warm welcomes yesterday, very much appreciated. Nice to have a bit of fun.
Wishing you all the best possible day. ???
Good morning all from a sodden North Leicestershire.
We had a quiet day yesterday as we were suffering with the after effects of our boosters. We will do as little as possible today too. Roast beef for lunch.
Take care everyone.
Good morning and it’s another wild start to the day. Strong winds and high seas!
It always seems to be windy when we travel back to Essex and going over the Orwell Bridge gives me the ‘heeby jeebies’ .
We’ll head back about midday, so hopefully it will have died down a bit. ?.
Sar I’m glad you enjoyed the rugby and safe journey home today.?.
Sorry to hear your family have Covid. Hopefully only a mild case. ?
ash worrying symptoms for you. Take it easy until you have the next blood test. I keep nagging dh to phone/go to surgery for an appointment, but he’s too impatient to hold on and last time he waited outside for 30 mins was told no appointments available and phone again tomorrow. ?. It’s absolutely hopeless ! What a state we’re all in !
Lots of poorly people about, so take care and keep on keeping safe.
Chins up everyone. ❤️
Morning all! Ash, you're fairly taking a bit at the moment. Sad for you. Thank goodness for the constructive advice on here. My highlight today is birthday party lunch for GD who will be 9. Just hope the elements are kind to me for my drive. Raining but not too windy at the moment. Lying here considering my party dress before I make it to the shower. Very grateful for the extra hour but it's a one off whereas the dark nights are here until March. Mmmmm... Cheers everyone!
Good morning all.
Some worries this morning from a few posters. Ashcombe - hope you get your heart problems solved soon. Breathlessness is frightening.
Fingers crossed for your sonDragonfly
Good wishes to the others with health worries.
Good morning from a very wet and windy N. Bucks.
Yesterday we had an unexpected visit from DD1 and have just had a call from DD3 to say she and family will be calling in this morning.
I got the Christmas cake mixed yesterday so that will go in the oven in a while. I must get a sponge out of the freezer and decorate it Halloween style for DGSs.
Felt quite productive yesterday and finished off these crochet mini stockings. They will be used as ‘ table gifts with a few special chocolates in them
Healing thoughts for all who are or have family that are poorly.
Hope the day brings a smile to everyone.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Forgot to put the clocks back last night! Very wet in South Yorkshire and poor GS is playing football in it. It will be a mud fest! A quiet day for DH and I; if it dries up later we may have a walk around the block but it doesn’t look likely. It will be roast chicken for lunch.
Ash I hope you get to see a GP and get your meds sorted soon.
Much respect to ginny and anyone who can crochet - I can’t get the hang of it!
Have a safe peaceful Sunday folks.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning, Mick and all from a wet Glasgow, its bucketing down! I'm still in bed, pretty exhausted today. I shall be joining your sewing bee today, GM.
So many posts to read this morning.
Firstly Ash, you must phone 111, since your meds are affecting your heart. I ended up in Coronary Care because I put off seeking help, after new medication caused angina pains. I got help just in time.
I was recently told off by my GP for not phoning sooner about my angina. His words: If you don't tell us, how can we judge if you need help?. Remember the golden rule: If you have had two goes at using your nitro spray, with no relief, whilst using it for the third time, phone 999.
Please don't take any chances. It was a 111 doctor, who, on two occasions called, called for an ambulance for me, for which I will be ever grateful.
For those with Covid in your families, it must be such a worry. I hope it is only a mild dose and they feel better soon.
This super cold is also laying everyone low and as it appears to mimic the symptoms of Covid, its very worrying. I have been unwell for weeks, but all tests have been negative. Despite that, I still worry.
I had such an unexpected busy day yesterday, verifying ID for PVG (Disclosure) applicants. It was like a military operation, a bit like QVC where the presenters are miles apart and trying to have a conversation. I met some lovely people, it really cheered me up.
The new Parish Priest has a rather large and (to me) a very scary dog ( I'm terrified of dogs) , so when she came running towards me, I was petrified. To my astonishment, she sat at my feet and offered me her paw, then nuzzled me! The PP said she was a very good judge of character! ??
We received a surprise invitation from DS1 to come and watch the Hallowe'en parade and fireworks at the local park with Dollie last night.
Watching she and her little schools pals, excitedly chattering away, brought back so many, happy memories of teaching wee ones. They were all talking over each other and repeating everything that was said back to each other. It was delightful to watch. There were also some grandparents from church there too, so I had a great time.
DS and DIL had walked to the park, but I looked at the wee, tired, chicken legs and new for certain, Dollie would never make it back home.
Fortunately, despite not having been in our car since the pandemic began, (we lived in hope), her car seat was still in situ.
Thank goodness, Dil is a size eight, ( I am not) or we wouldn't have all fitted in the car. DIL had to do a lot of fumbling around my nether regions
to find the middle seat belt, all in pitch darkness. I couldn't stop laughing!
We bought fish suppers on the way home, no cooking required, what joy!
I did have some photos, but unfortunately, they won't post.
Have a good day, whatever your plans. For those struggling today, I hope today is kind, especially for a couple of posters, for whom I know life is very troublesome. at moment. We never really know the impact of what we write has on those who read our posts. ?
A wet morning finds me ahead of myself because of the hour and waiting for a Tesco delivery - a new experience and resorted to because of the ongoing back problem. I shall soon discover what I have failed to order.
Another empty day and DH needs stimulus but Sunday seems not to be the day to ask friends to call so he will have to put up with grumpy me.
I enjoy reading about busier and more interesting lives than mine, and there are some delicious Sunday lunches planned. Ours will depend on when my delivery arrives and lunch could be supper instead.
Good morning everyone from a very wet and windy Northampton. No going out today!
I will draw a veil over yesterday's rugby match; suffice it to say the lucky socks and my team shirt did not work.... I really needed my red wine to drown my sorrows, and had another glass when I got home.
I have decided to make my Christmas mince pies today - it will fill a couple of hours on a very long Sunday - and may partake of a couple just to test them of course!
Apart from that it will be the Sunday papers, reading and/or knitting. Haven't had trick or treaters round here for a few years now, but I do have some goodies in, just in case. I can remember a few years back opening the front door to some school pupils of mine who had no idea I lived here, and I think they were more shocked than I was! When the DGDs were little their mum used to bring them round to us, but they are too big for that now, and they are both going out to parties.
Hope you feel better soon Ash. And wishes to all those feeling under the weather or out of sorts today.
A note to Marydoll just to say how much I enjoy reading your novellas - they never fail to cheer me up, especially on a long wet and miserable Sunday!
Morning from a wet S Lanarkshire.
Caught up with yesterday’s posts later in the day and saw that PollyTickle is an old friend, I’m pleased to see you back.
Hope you enjoyed your guests last night baubles in spite of not feeling at your best. I’m admiring your preparations for your mini guests tonight! We don’t normally have any guisers in this street but I’ll have some supplies in just in case.
I have sympathy with your GP problems Ashcombe, I am battling to get a face to face appointment with one of our GPS re an important suggested change in heart meds. One of my daughters has contacted them saying that she also wants to be present. I’m not hopeful but we’ve been told that ‘ a clinical decision’ will be made by the doctor on the day of the appointment.
Wishing everyone a good day???
Good to see you got Tesco sorted GrannySomerset.
Good Morning all, I hope Ash and others feeling unwell make a quick recovery, sorry if I go back to check names I’ll be even later posting but I hope you all and family members feel better soon. An extra Good morning for Anniebach, you made me wonder if there is an equivalent of guisers in Wales? There certainly wasn’t in the south of England when I was a child, I’d read about bobbing for apples but that was as far as Halloween celebrations went. Apparently there was traditionally something similar here when village children would go out in a group with homemade patchwork bags to ask for sweets.
It’s not actually raining at the moment but the ground has been well soaked overnight and it’s due to start again soon.
Good morning Mick and everyone from a very rainy Carlisle where I am hiding from it in my office and not doing anything useful.
The sun did arrive in the afternoon, thank you JaxJacky! I see you have none to send today. We are promised that it will clear by coffee time and it is showing signs of doing so.
I went out in the garden and amalgamated 2 piles of turf. I'd quite like to keep it until it turns to good loam but I might just get too much of a good thing as there's a lot more lawn to go.
I hope you take care Ashcombe and perhaps take some of the good advice here if your condition declines.
There seems to an increase in covid sufferers recently, hopefully no-one will be seriously affected.
A good Sunday to you all.
Just arrived EkwaNimitee…on it’s way ?
Good morning from the very wet Scottish Borders.
It's late because I could not sleep last night but fell asleep at dawn and have only recently woken. So much for that extra hour!
Ash that's you "telt" by Marydoll. You must seek help.
Remember if it was your car you would call the AA, but it's your body, which is far more important.
Dreadful to hear of so many new covid cases. I am staying put. I keep hearing of people being taken ill. There was a cousin's wedding recently and one of the guests (twice vaccinated) is in hospital and most of the others have covid. So be warned: Take care
Dragonfly
ginny those stockings are adorable. I wish I could make things like that.
Good morning everyone, the rain we missed yesterday came down in monsoon amounts in the night , but it’s bright again this morning
I changed the clocks last night , but still got up at a very early hour , I got an early Mass on line but there was no sermon , I like a good talk explaining the scriptures ( whether I agree or not is another matter ! )
Lots of Grans still having caring or health problems , I think and pray for them
Good morning Mick, Annie and all.
Just trying to sneak in under the wire.
