Good morning all from a wet mid-Herts so our planned walk to a wildflower meadow is unlikely to happen.
Sorry to hear that some of you have got family suffering from Covid, hope it will pass fairly lightly. This nightmare seems to be carrying on far longer than we had hoped.
Yesterday we had our booster jabs and so far no side effects thankfully.

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. I remembered to change the clocks but was surprised by it being light so early...duh!
Not sure what Sunday has in store but I know we have roast pork later.

That’s a lot of treat bags baubles although I expect they’ll soon go! We’re having a small Halloween party here this afternoon for DGSs and their friends so it should be busy but good fun later.

GP access seems to be pretty haphazard Ash, I’d be pushing and tearful as gM suggests.
A good nights sleep helps so much corner, good you’ve had one, at last.
The GC’s were dropped home happily yesterday, it was lovely having them, next booking December 11th!
Nothing much on today, washing that didn’t get done yesterday and finish off Saturdays paper.

Good morning everyone from a gloomy south Manchester where we have squally showers at present - the wind is certainly up and battering the rain against the balcony windows and door. Brr! Halloween too!

It’s 7 years ago to day that we took early retirement. Lucky us indeed. Stepfather is coming to Sunday dinner as per. I shall make beef in ale (a lá Delia) with mash and carrots. And peas. I love garden peas for the colour they add to a plate alone! We shall start the afternoon with drinks downstairs in the Loungers Bar then up in the lift (glad no walking involved in this weather!) to eat.

It takes me a while to adjust to GMT. Harder for those with littlies though. They’ll have been up at silly o’clock with an extra hour of Peppa Pig I dare say!

Ashcombe I sense your anxiety. Do press for an ‘in person’ appointment tomorrow. Perhaps ring 111 today and explain to the nurse your concerns?. They then make an appointment for you at your doctor’s surgery. Good luck. x

DD2 and family are staying but all still quiet?We are taking DGS to a photo shoot today then they will go to visit other family and we will come home and clean the house!We had a nice day yesterday.There were quite a few Halloween events in town which was good fun??

Ash, I don’t blame you feeling gloomy.Our GP practice has been very good with phone calls but sometimes a face to face appointment is needed.Maybe email the practice manager and see if a face to face appointment can be arranged?

Dragonfly hope you will soon be feeling better.We were unwell for a few weeks with the cold/virus, it really is a bad one.

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset looks dry at the moment. Several local flood alerts though.

After a decent nights sleep it seems I can speak today, feel a whole lot better. All tests negative, I’m sure a cold rather than covid. Or hope so. An unexpected visit from our eldest cheered me yesterday evening, his life seems to be settling down after three emotional and difficult years. Still challenges ahead though. No plans for today, just pottering around. .

A wish for mild symptoms for your son and his family dragonfly and for your daughter sar. Thinking of all with worries of any kind.

Your poor family, dragonfly46! I do hope your fears for your son are unfounded and that the rest of the family remains well. Worrying times. Likewise Sar53 with your daughter.

We enjoyed The Nutcracker last night, performed by the English Youth Ballet by some very talented young dancers. A young woman sitting by me was watching ballet for the first time and was moved to tears, mainly by the beauty of Tchaikovsky’s music. Wonderful!

It would seem that the full effect of dropping both water tablets as instructed last Monday took full effect last night, causing breathlessness and angina, which rather took the edge of our evening. Thank goodness DH is here with me for support.

I’m hoping to go to church this morning as this time of day is when I’m at my best. If only I could see my GP in person…..phone calls, mainly from the practice pharmacists, for which I’ve waited hours at times, are not the same and some don’t materialise with no explanation.

Good morning all from dark and possibly wet Harrogate- haven’t peeped out of the curtains yet!
If your DS has had his 2 vaccines then he is unlikely to have severe COVID dragonfly. The worst part of my COVID was having to self isolate again.
Since we have not had any guisers since being in this house, I’ll only make up about 10 bags. There are 4 children nearby so I have to be prepared. They all seem to have organised parties these days! DGS turned 8 yesterday but his party is lunchtime today, so no church for me as I have been asked to help out. It’s only 14 children, probably his class mates. There are only 60 in his school, so it’s a nice little community.

Good morning from a rainy Cardiff. Breakfast then home, hope the motorways are kind.
The rugby was great yesterday even though Wales lost. All the covid measures at the stadium went well and it was a lovely day.
My eldest daughter has tested positive for covid, they are waiting for results for 9 year old. Fingers crossed for a mild dose.

Good morning from a gloomy E Kent. Still very dark here. I hate the change of clocks as I get jet lag and it takes me some time to adjust.
Must have been fun to see the cafe staff in Halloween costumes, Mick! Enjoy browsing your holiday brochure.
Did very little yesterday, except start making quince jelly with fruit given to me by a neighbour. She insisted on picking the fruit about a month ago before they were properly ripe…. I managed to burn the bottom of my preserving pan with the fruit, which was a bummer.
Today, I shall go to church. We’re going to the later, more social service for the first time since March 2020. We rarely socialise, because I don’t much like it it; less so ATM. I shall also finish the quince jelly, and potter over my sewing machine.

Good morning mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire. It’s still dark outside and I’ve no idea what the weather is doing yet.

It’s going to be a quiet at for me until the Halloween guisers start coming to the door anyway. I’ve made up fifty bags of treats so I’m hoping the weather doesn’t deter the little ones. One of the parents has organised a little afternoon party in the park outside my house, I believe they’re having a magician.

Yesterday my DS tested positive for Covid along with their 3 year old. My DiL and GD tested negative. As my DS gets everything really badly I am very worried.
I am still feeling rough and coughing for England despite testing negative.
I am not sure I have faith in PCR tests!
