David Fuller?

This whole business is sickening. I’m not sure if I’d want to know or not. I hope he goes to prison for a every long time, he’s clearly not fit to move amongst ordinary people. I feel sorry for both his victims and his own family. Imagine how it might feel to be his wife and find out what he’s been doing for years.

Shipman killed hundred of his victims. Fuller only killed two. Violating the dead is nauseous and disgusting. If a member of my family were one of the victims, I would rather not know.

I don’t think the fact that Fuller ‘only killed two’ will be of any consolation to the families of these two young women. I also hope that Fuller does not escape justice by claiming ‘diminished responsibility’. Too many perpetrators are getting reduced sentences by using this tactic. Also I can’t understand how an electrical engineer had access to a mortuary without any medical staff being present. Clearly no one was alerted to the number of times he entered the mortuary with his pass. I can’t begin to explain how I would feel if such terrible things had happened to someone I knew and of course the young women who were murdered.

I agree Urmstongran, I just cannot begin to comprehend how his family must feel, imagine sharing a bed with a man for all those years and discovering this. plus of course they will likely suffer repercussions such as vandalism and abusive behaviour from the public. As to whether families should or would want to know, I really am unsure, I don't think anything is to be gained from telling a family that their beloved grandmother/daughter/sister was a victim.

But as I understand it this vile person was married?

Necrophiliacs generally are found to have very poor self esteem and a fear if being rejected by their sexual partners, but I don’t believe that they are insane in the conventional sense of the word, because they can usually carry on a perfectly normal life outside of their perversion.

Like most people it is not a subject that I like to dwell on.

Nevres not nerves

The punishment is hardly anything, just a few years, for these nauseating crimes. I’ve just forced myself to read about it on Sky News. My heart goes out to the families for these atrocities - hundreds and thousands of them.Nerves Kemel, who blew the whistle on the BabyP case is now fighting for justice for her violated daughter. She demands the COE of the trust resigns. She is right. Apologies aren’t enough.

The dark side of mental illness

I find this even more difficult to understand than paedophilia and that’s saying something. I think that if one of my relatives were involved I would rather know, impossible though it would be to come to terms with, otherwise I would always wonder. I have begun to wonder how rare this horrible offence is. You think it must be, but…. Just incomprehensible.

Can't get my head around this. He must surely be mentally sick? I'm not excusing him. Certainly not; but these are not the acts of a 'normal' - forgive my lack of wordsmithng - person surely?

This is a man in his mid-60s. I can’t read about his heinous crimes as I know it would upset and nauseate me. All I can think is his poor family, wife and adult children, living with a pervert yet unaware. Their torment must be un-bluddy-believable. And then there are the families of the victims too. Beyond shocking. My mind does not want to open that door.

Horrific case and crimes going back years. It's a catch 22 situation regarding whether or not relatives should be told. Some people may not want to know but it would be dreadful for others if they found out via the media or some other way.
My sympathies are with the families as well.

However nauseating, this is an entirely different case.
Harold Shipman was a “respected” GP ( until everybody found out otherwise) and unless I have missed something there was no sexual element to his crimes.
