I’ve no idea
How do I get a reading?
I’m now going around switching lights off if not needed.
This house and local authority is good at recycling and getting better every day
I no longer run the water in the bathroom until it gets hot or run it while brushing my teeth.
I’m trying or at least my husband says I’m trying very trying grin

7.06 tons / 68% of target which is higher than expected, on the other hand because there have been no flights in the last couple of years might have been higher.

Your figures do seem overly high Maybee - I’ve just done mine and they come in a lot lower than I expected given the flying I’ve done this year!

93% 9.75 on the scales

28% Home - 2bed,DG, condensing boiler, loft, floor, cavity ins

17% Food - local meat/fish/veg - no waste/takeaways

20% Stuff - old phones, tv, daughter’s cast off IPads

35% Travel - 3 European flights (offset), small car 3k m pa, walk, bus and train where possible

Apart from flights (which I’ll stop when the great and the good stop) I cant see where I can make any adjustments - the cost of an electric car or air/ground heating will have to plummet before I get on board!

Couldn't do it as it is UK based.

Done it again. Still over 100. Looked at all of the tips and I do all of them anyway. Except cycling! I can’t ride a bike.

Chicken is supposed to have no methane. So if we eat chicken and feed our dogs chicken meat how can it increase your percentage? Too many anomalies for my liking.

I don’t understand how spending money on your dog increases your percentage. Can anyone explain please?

It must be the meat thing. I don’t eat much meat myself. I buy a chicken every couple of weeks for the dog but use every last bit of it: boil the bones etc.

VioletSky Sun 07-Nov-21 21:59:55

I'm guessing cos they eat meat Avalon?

More expense spent on food either means better quality meat or more of it?

I really don’t understand it. It says it’s because of my house but I can’t downsize. I have 4 bedrooms but they’re they’re not very big and the house is well insulated. I mean, I don’t even have a smart phone: the phone I have is 10+ years old! And my tiny car is old, too.

GrannyMacawell Sun 07-Nov-21 21:49:04

Blimey..thats quite a lot

MayBee70 Sun 07-Nov-21 21:47:38

I’m 20+ tonnes! Global warming is totally down to me!

Shandy57 Sun 07-Nov-21 21:47:00

Done it again, 97%.

Shandy57 Sun 07-Nov-21 21:17:55

I'm not getting a percent, what am I doing wrong? I'm 10.14 tonnes.

Jaxjacky Sun 07-Nov-21 21:08:47

87%, will aim to get it lower.

muse Sun 07-Nov-21 20:56:49

I did it again, left every answer as before but took out all the renewables we have and how we use them. Went from 61% to 79%.

dolphindaisy Sun 07-Nov-21 20:35:05

85% but at the moment that doesn't include my annual trip to Australia to see my DGDs. Yes I want to try and help save the planet for them but I'm afraid that doesn't include not being able to see them at all.

VioletSky Sun 07-Nov-21 18:46:09

8.25

MayBee70 Sun 07-Nov-21 18:35:16

I’ve done it again and it’s still 133% It makes me want to not bother. I’ve had a zero waste policy for ages and was in a recycling group 40 years ago. It suggested I bought second hand clothes. Pre covid I lived in second hand clothes! I even save the bath water to flush the toilet. An carry a hot water bottle around to stop myself from turning the heating up. My internet charges are huge but that’s because I use AOL and they only give good deals to new customers and I’m scared to switch at this moment in time as I’m so dependent on the internet. Feeling a bit paranoid!

GrannyMacawell Sun 07-Nov-21 18:29:33

Yes I would like an electric car.,but I wonder what is the carbon footprint of getting a new electric car vs keeping a small petrol car. (yes I know I can get second hand)

Shandy57 Sun 07-Nov-21 18:27:17

I know I need to change my diesel car, I'm going to make it a priority next year.

Calistemon Sun 07-Nov-21 18:22:53

I'm going to test it by doing everything wrong.

MissAdventure Sun 07-Nov-21 18:19:05

Thats the spirit.
Keep doing it until it gives the right answer. wink

MayBee70 Sun 07-Nov-21 18:14:46

I might do it again and say I do use trains and buses because I did before the pandemic. I think having a dog that I spend money on pushed up my score.
